We were alerted to a problem with feeds not posting to Twitter accounts this morning. We’ve identified the problem and it should be working again.

Restoration Ongoing

We discovered a database snafu in our previous restoration this morning so we are finishing another restoration. The site should be back shortly.

Down Time

We experienced some down time this morning that resulted in a corrupted database. We’ve restored the server with a backup from last night and things should be back to normal. If you’ve submitted a feed or created an account in the last 12 hours you may have been affected. Contact us if you are experiencing any issues.

Maintenance Update

I’ve been making a number of changes behind the scenes to help handle the growth we’ve been seeing. Some areas that have been affected have been stats viewing, tag viewing and feed adding.

You should already be noticing speed improvements when viewing feeds by tags as well as when adding feeds. Stats are taking a bit longer due to the amount of data but should be back to normal soon.

Some small fixes have been released today that solve problems some users where having with logging out as well as some graph display issues users with lots of clicks where having in their feed stats.

Adding Bulk Feeds

By popular request, I’ve added a new bulk feed addition form here: http://www.feedagg.com/add_feed_bulk.php

Feeds can be separated by either spaces or commas, just like tags. These seem like the most common but if you use a different type of separator let me know.

Note: The tags you add will be applied to all the feeds you add through the bulk uploader.

New Add Tags Options

When adding Tags to new feeds you now have the option to separate Tags with either spaces or commas. Tags added from the feed page or feed admin pages must be separated by commas. This is a widely requested feature and we’re happy to finally add it.

FeedAgg Twitter Posting Fixes

Post Your FeedAgg Feed To Twitter

Wouldn’t it be great if you could update your twitter feed when you update your RSS/XML feed?

We thought so too.

Now when you look at your feeds list you will see a link for “Twitter.” When you click that link you will be taken to the 3 step setup process to integrate into Twitter. Enter the Twitter username you want to post to, authorize, then finally select your update frequency. From there we will check your feed at the frequency your specify and post any changes to your twitter account.

For those worried about handing over your Twitter password to another web site, worry not, we are using the OAuth protocol to verify against Twitter so you don’t need to give us your Twitter password.
