I used to take learning music seriously - any musical instrument - I thought one had to sit down, practice, practice, do the boring practice. And maybe this is the way to become a musical genius. But then I had a revelation watching my little daughter - she had no clue what "practice" meant- but she loved making sounds with various instruments. So I sat down on the floor with her and started making sounds - and had a ball. I haven't had so much fun in years. Best if you have two sets - one for yourself, one for a friend or a child. So to all of us who will never be professional musicians, but who can enjoy making sounds and music with friends and children - just play!
