Pancreatic Cancer - What can you do?
Pancreatic cancer is considered one of the hardest cancers to
cure. Patrick Swayze is probably one of the most famous
people to die of this disease in recent times but there are many
unsung heroes and heroines who have been taken the same way.
My mother died from pancreatic cancer in 2000 so I thought I
would share some quick questions and answers and some suggestions
for those of you who have either been diagnosed with pancreatic
cancer or a loved one has been afflicted with the disease.
Q What is the pancreas?
A The pancreas is an organ in the body located below the
stomach that produces hormones including insulin in the body to
aid with digestion. Insulin controls your body's sugar
levels.

A Abnormal cells that grow and destroy healthy body
tissue.
Q What causes pancreatic cancer?
A Scientists are unsure but believe smoking can
significantly increase your chances of pancreatic cancer.
Q What are symptoms of pancreatic cancer?
A Nausea, loss of appetite, weight loss, dizzy spells and
general weakness.
Q How can you diagnose pancreatic cancer?
A Blood and stool tests and xrays after drinking barium
solution.
Q How do you treat pancreatic cancer?
A Surgery, radiation treatment and chemotherapy.
Q What are the side effects for treatment of pancreatic
cancer?
A Surgery requires recovery time. Radiation
treatment can cause redness of the skin, nausea tiredness
and weakness. Chemotherapy can cause tiredness, weakness,
nausea and often hair loss.
Q What is the prognosis for pancreatic cancer?
A Currently the prognosis is very poor unless caught in
the very early stages. Scientists are actively seeking
solutions to improve the survival rate for pancreatic cancer.
All sounds pretty grim, doesn't it? If you personally have
this cancer, don’t give up. A small percentage of people do
beat this disease. For the best chance to be one of those
people, here are ten suggestions to help you become cancer
free.
- Stay upbeat and positive and believe you can win this battle. Watch sit-coms, go to comedy shows and share jokes with your family and friends are good ways to go. Laugh as often as you can. As the old adage goes, “Laughter is the best medicine.”
- Meditate by imagining a white light is permeating your body in the area of your cancer and energising your immune system to fight it. Doing ten minutes a day of this lying on a sun chair outside with the sun on your face will help with this meditation. You can also imagine little white knights fighting and defeating little black knights. It’s up to your imagination which way you go.
- Give up smoking if you are a smoker - this is mandatory. Your body needs only good things right now.
- Some schools of thought believe that by fasting and living on vegetable juice will starve the cancer. If you can do this (and it might be easier than you think if you lose your appetite) then go for it – at least you are getting some easy to digest goodness in your body. Regardless eat healthy and cut out processed sugars and processed food in general.
- Constantly tell the people you care about in your life how much they mean to you and how much you love them. Helping the people around you and loving them will help them cope with your disease as sometimes it is those people who aren’t afflicted who suffer more.
- Make sure all your affairs are in order and the ones you love know where all the important papers are just in case they need them – we hope they don’t.
- Take the opportunity for a spring clean giving away or throwing out unnecessary items that are cluttering up your home. Getting organised can be a great distraction and is another form of cleansing.
- Pamper yourself in any way you can. Get massages, facials, spa treatments – anything that makes you feel relaxed and happy. You can also use this time doing the meditation therapy mentioned earlier.
- Tale up a new hobby, something you always meant to do but never got round to as a means of distraction during this trying time. Keeping busy doing something you enjoy will keep you feeling happy and positive.
- Get counselling for yourself and your family if you feel you or your loved ones aren’t coping.
In conclusion, the best thing you can do for yourself is to
live your life to the fullest and enjoy each day like it’s your
last. Don’t waste a precious second feeling sorry for
yourself and focus on making yourself and others around you as
happy as possible.

Article Spinning How to Spin Articles Effectively in 8 Easy Steps
Article marketing means submitting articles to article directories and is one of the best ways to drive traffic to your web site or blog. An article spinner is an excellent tool to turn one article into hundreds of different articles by replacing words with synonyms (appropriate words with the same meaning), changing the sentences to say the same thing in a different way and even replacing paragraphs with those same sentences repeated in a different order. Those paragraphs can also be placed in a different order, providing the content continues to flow and is easily understood.
That said, it does take a little effort on your part to ensure all words chosen make sense. Please read my 8 steps on how to spin articles effectively below. This gives an overview of what you need to be careful about when you spin articles. It is an art but an easy one to master. You just need to care about the enjoyment of your readers.
- Make sure you get an article spinning program for your article marketing that you can own outright and have on your computer so you have the ability to mould it to your writing style and add your own personal synonyms. This also avoids yearly fees and any problems associated with internet downtime that is possible with online spinners. - The article you want to spin must be interesting, original and written in your own style. The only way of being completely sure of that is to write it yourself. If you must pay someone to do it, make sure you own all the copyright. This article needs to be created in a document that is saved outside the program. You will always want to have the original somewhere in case things go haywire with your spinner and you want to start again. Do not under any circumstances create your original article in the spinner program.
- So now you are ready to start spinning. Before you start replacing every word or phrase you can, I suggest you select headings, sentences and even paragraphs if you like and rewrite several versions of each. Although applying this process can seem to save you a lot of time, personally I think it is more trouble than it’s worth. It tends to cause an unnatural, stilted spin and by the time you try to fix all the incorrectly applied synonyms (and you always seem to miss one), the time it is supposed to save you is lost. I believe this lazy feature is the number one reason for badly spun articles.
- Once you are happy with your spinning efforts, it’s time to spin, spin and spin again and carefully read all versions (I recommend at least ten). Remember if you find any that are stilted and strange, you can be assured others will as well so adjust your synonyms where necessary. You need to ensure each and every version you spin flows along nicely for a comfortable read. Remember to always care about the enjoyment of your readers.
- Never ever send two versions of your spun article to the same article directory. Each directory with the appropriate category gets ONE version of your spun article and that’s it. Again, think of your readers. Reading a similar article in another directory if you happen to come across it is one thing but finding one in the same directory is completely unacceptable. If you get lazy and try this on, your second version of this article will probably be rejected anyway and it may even cause your first one to be removed. Even worse, you may get blacklisted. You never know. Don’t mess with the article directories!

the time you fix all the inappropriate synonyms, the time it is
supposed to save you is lost. You are welcome to try it if you

you.
Personally I prefer to spin the articles myself applying each and
every synonym. This may take a little longer but the end result
makes it worth the effort. Remember, if you are using your
articles to lead people back to your web sites, your reputation
is on the line so providing quality articles is mandatory if you
want the article directories to take you seriously and publish
what you have written. A badly spun article stands out as stilted
and an uncomfortable read. It just has that "not quite right"
feel about it. If you find it uncomfortable to read then you can
