(More customer reviews)I purchased two of these, a blue one and a yellow one.I knew that I would need to make improvements immediately to make them reliable.I was OK with that since they were only ~$2,200 each to my door, and I couldn't build my own for much less than that.

The frame was solid, but heavy.The CVT transmission and the Honda Helix (CN250)-copy engine are both very good.I was very impressed on the performance and durability of the X-mission and engine, and I rode them hard.Had to adjust the valves on the yellow one once, but it was a cinch with the external cam adjusters.The clearance ~9" was more than enough to ride everywhere my friends small 4-wheeler could go.Over rocky stuff and everything, just not real fast due to suspension.And power was fairly decent!The seat is great, and the tires are OK.Steering system is very good.The chain and its tensioning system are excellent.

The rear axle had collars that needed to be removed to allow the hubs to be tight. I also added a thick lock washer to make them tighter, and had to reef down pretty hard on the hub nut.The rear hub splines definitely need a tighter tolerance in manufacturing.

The shock absorbers are worthless, and I upgraded to Fox shocks designed for the skis on a snowmobile.Some nice balloon-type tires would be a huge improvement in the suspension, and I would have done that if I had been able to keep them. It could add clearance too!These buggies are not ergonomic at all compared to a 4-wheeler.You are entirely dependent on the suspension, and cannot use your limbs for bump absorption, as you can with the 4-wheeler.So basically, take it easy if you don't want a sore back.

I also had to replace one of the radiators due to small holes.The Yamaha YFZ-450 ATV aluminum radiator fit nicely with very minor modification (one mount hole drill).

The stock master brake cylinders are also useless, and I upgraded to Volkswagen bug/bus cylinders, which are easy to find thanks to popularity among sand rails and other homemade buggies.The brakes were still not quite as good as they should be for disc-type.

The paint on the yellow one was fine, but the blue quickly faded from a beautiful deep blue to a dark blue then whitish.WTH?This one bothered me more than the other issues, ...I mean, how hard is it to get the paint right these days?

The lights on one were intermittent, but after much hard riding.I was getting all 4 wheels off the ground, so...I didn't expect not to jar at least something loose.An easy fix.

Don't use the antifreeze that comes with it, get the normal good stuff at your local parts store!!!

Needed to adjust the shifting cable.It was still somewhat hard to put into reverse after adjustment.It also jerked a bit at first when in reverse as the X-mission changed over.This is not uncommon with CVT type X-missions.Just take it easy on the gas when starting out in reverse right after shifting into it.

The manual was a good laugh, as expected.I would have been disappointed had it not been.

Had to replace and add lock-tight to several bolts/nuts, but nothing major.Keep a toolbox handy, especially for the first few months until you get the bugs out.

Overall, tons of fun and definitely room for improvement.Be prepared to upgrade components!For the money, you can't go wrong in my humble opinion, especially if you are considering building one.The experience of riding these on 4-wheeler trails is something else.Very different from a 4-wheeler.We will miss it!

The starter would not work after the first couple of starts.Found a physical water/rust line in the starter but no water marks were on the crate so this had to have happened in the Chineese starter factory.No problem, an hour or two later I find the part on line and the retailer paid for it.So, about two weeks later the headlight works intermittently which was caused by a faulty voltage regulator putting out too much voltage..Bad bulb of which is not available in any automotive parts store.Still haven't found a replacement bulb yet but did find a replacement regulator.

After only about 200 km the bike's kickstand spring mount breaks and a new one had to be fabricated.

Next my daughter laid the bike over in in accident.Almost impossible to find replacement body parts.

In my opinion, if you can pick-up at a give away price you come out ok.I ride a 650 V-Strom with about 27K miles on her and have only had one problem with water in the fuel, other than that a wonderful ride and gets between 45 & 55 mpg when running from 65mph to 120 mph.The LF250 gets about 35mpg when running at interstate speeds since it has to be ridden at full throttle which has a top speed between 70 and 82mph.Don't buy the bike to save fuel on the interstate, but it's ok for city commuting speeds.

(More customer reviews)I've never had to use it --hope I never will. It's very small which concerns me if I ever had to use it as intended to knock out the car window, I'm not sure it would do it. I can always use my fist, right?
The embedded blade is fine --it should cut through seat belts with no problem. The little black cap at the top is spring loaded & supposed to generate enough force to break tempered glass --not sure but also not willing to test it out. Happy the Glass Man is rich enough!
Its small enough to fit on your key chain w/out being too obtrusive, I hang mine from the rear view mirror so it's handy should the need arise.
I've seen the full size version & may pick one up as I would feel much more confident in it.

(More customer reviews)The instructions for this product are worthless.Before installing the battery, obtain a good set of ear plugs.When you install the battery, the alarm goes off and DOES NOT STOP until you get everything reassembled.I learned this the hard way.After many attempts, the alarm stopped working.Today, I contacted Xena Customer Support and the person who answered the phone was able to immediately clarify the installation procedure and is sending me a replacement for my broken alarm module and a new battery.

(More customer reviews)I've had this rack for since 2002 - has worked well for carrying bikes whether towing my +2000-lbs popup camper or not. I've recommended it to friends, and would buy it again.

Don't use the swing-down feature often, as it's pretty heavy if bikes are loaded. The v-cradles for the bikes don't work as well for the oval tubes on some bikes - especially for really "tall" top tubes. I bought a "cheater" tube for adapting troublesome bikes (ladies frame, etc.) to fit the rack.

The three screws to fasten the top plate are a little tedious, but I can clamp it as tight as I want, can accomodate top tubes of varous diameters (the top plate flexes), and I have never seen them loosen even after several hours of highway driving.

Re: earlier comments on chains: I tow with a minivan (towing package including load-leveling). I had to get safety chain extensions so I could tow my popup camper. To kee the chains off the road, I use a bungee cord from the crossing point to the trailer tongue.

(More customer reviews)I was at the Casino in Temecula and they have two parking garages that look exactly the same.I played poker for about 3 hours and left through the wrong door of the casino and went into the parking garage to find my car.When I could not find the car where I was absoutely sure I had left it, I took out the Auto-Finder and pressed the button.It took a few seconds for the signal to come on but, I noticed that the signal was incredibly weak.When scanning I was getting very little directional information and it seemed like my car was no where near me.Of cours I was like, "this stupid thing does not work at all!"Well, what happend was that the Auto-Finder was giving me the clue that I actually needed because my car was not in that parking garage at all.Once I walked around for a few minutes confused, I walked out of that parking garage and the signal picked up and pointed me to the other side of the building...HMMMMMMM????What the heck was going on?Well, I followed the keychain and it led me to the other side where it pointed me at another parking garage that looked exactly the same as the other one.Could have fooled me!I never knew there were two unlabled garages that are exactly the same on each side of the casino.I didnt really think the Auto-Finder was all it was cracked up to be but, believe me, it will save your butt when you are totally lost!!!

(More customer reviews)Purchased two of these back at Christmas for my two oldest kids.Warrenty is very limited so use them a lot in the first 60 days to make sure they work.Had the CDI go out on one of the units in the first week and another go out a few months later.Purchased 6 extras for $5 each so I don't have the same problem again.Takes about 30 seconds to switch it out so it is an easy fix once you know the symptoms.These obviously are made in China (nearly all these 110s are actually made in the same factory no matter what the brand) not Japan.The motors are relatively simple and easy to work on.I have changed the oil and spark plugs and they work great.You should also plan on tightening up the chain when you get it.The manual is some of the worst English I have ever seen so just look at the pictures if you have questions.Parts are very easy to obtain and very inexpensive as you would expect.I tested these out several times before I let the kids ride them and my kids wear full protective gear (chest plate, helmet, goggles, and gloves.) I also ride them around for the first minute or two when they are warming up to make sure nothing has gone wrong prior to the kids riding them.Only other problem is that the design of the drive shaft loosens the chain when someone 150lbs or above rides it.So if you hit a big bump you may lose the chain.Again this is easy to put on and I keep it very tight now so that when a rider is on it the chain is perfectly tight.My kids are light weight so they never come close to having the chain come off.I on the other hand have had it happen a couple of times.Anyway, as long as you know what you are getting yourself into they are wonderful.It you have no mechanical ability stick to a well build Honda.

(More customer reviews)I bought the Trimax "Universal" lock only to find it was not universal. When attached to a Brenderup horse trailer's coupler, it would slide off over the front or simply fall off if the coupler lever was raised. The lock seems to require a groove on the top of the coupler to hold the lock's top bar-loop. Else, as on my trailer, it will not stay attached. It seems solid and may work for some trailers, but not for all.

Instead, try the Master Lock Universal Trailer Coupler Lock #377DAT; it worked for me and seems as if it will work for all couplers. Also it's $18 with free shipping instead of $36 plus $10 shipping for the Trimax.

That said about this product and it's inaccurate billing, I am happy with Mobile Mart who refunded my costs and paid for return shipping the lock.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this product to cut a seven year old 2 1/2" tailpipe.It was unable to cut the tailpipe and the tool actually failed before a single successful cut.The tool is poorly designed and one of the arms collapsed as the tool was tightened around the pipe.I can not recommen this tool.It may work better with a 2" tailpipe or smaller.The tool is too fragile to be considered a serious automotive speacialty tool.Lisle makes great products, but this is not one of them.
