Legal action has been taken against the 17-year-old Lam, who is facing the heat for selling “stolen goods”.

People who are desperate to get their hands on the white iPhone 4 need to make sure of the source before paying up. There are thousands of sellers out there who are making the most of this excitement and filling their own pockets in the bargain. For the genuine stuff, wait until Spring 2011, when Apple will release the “real” white iPhone 4.

That makes no more sense than the idea that they’d dump a Verizon iPhone 4 model out there at the end of the iPhone 4 train, either. And it all just keeps coming back to one conclusion: the iPhone 5 just can’t be coming in the summer.

Here’s a fully exhaustive list of why we’ve all assumed the iPhone 5 will arrive in summer 2011:

Does Apple just want to move on with a new generation so Verizon customers and white model holdouts can feel like they’re getting the latest and greatest iPhone from day one instead of a nine month old retread? We shall see. But either way, the pointers keep pointing toward the iPhone 5 arriving any time in 2011 except the summer, despite tradition suggesting otherwise.
