Philips AVENT SCD535 Baby Monitor Review

Philips AVENT SCD535 Baby Monitor Ensure your Baby’s Safety, Security, and Comfort

Lightweight and portable, the Philips AVENT SCD535 baby monitor makes it possible for you to answer your baby’s needs 24 hours per day. The cordless unit for parents features a belt clip so you can stay tuned in while staying mobile – making sure that your baby is safe and secure while you move throughout your house.

Features of the Philips AVENT SCD535 DECT Baby Monitor

This particular Philips baby monitor (the SCD535) has a variety of top-of-the-line features, including:

  • Audio monitoring;
  • Clear, uninterrupted reception;
  • Two-way communication;
  • ECO mode (which allows you to reduce energy consumption and save on the amount of power you use);
  • Temperature and humidity tracking;
  • A nightlight that can be activated by remote; and
  • Soothing lullabies, also which can be activated by remote.

The Philips SCD535 Offers Qualilty Monitoring

The only features absent from this brand monitor are video monitoring and infra-red night vision, both which are included on the Philips SCD600 model digital video monitor.

PhilipsAVENTSCD535BabyMonitor

However, that Philips monitor does not include zero interference, ECO mode, or temperature and humidity monitoring—all which are highlighted on the Philips AVENT SCD535 model.

Advanced Digital Technology Produces Clear and Distinct Audio

This Philips AVENT SCD535 baby monitor also makes use of DECT sound (or advanced digital technology) so you can stay in contact with your baby with no interference from mobile phones or similar devices. The feature covers a range up to 330 meters, thereby making it possible for you to clearly distinguish what your baby is trying to communicate – letting you know if he is cold, hungry, listless, or is in need of changing.

The Nightlight Feature Allows your Baby to Rest Undisturbed

The remote-activated nightlight on the monitor enables you to look after your baby without disrupting his pattern of sleep as well. In addition, the temperature and humidity gauges make it possible for you to check on your baby’s level of comfort, making sure he is not too warm or cold – all which, in turn, ensures both his well-being and safety.

Philips AVENT SCD535 Baby Monitor Reviews

Positive Comments

Would Undoubtedly Recommend It

Needless to say, the Philips AVENT SCD535 baby monitor is a must-have baby monitoring device as it permits the parent to stay connected with their infant while maintaining a daily itinerary. Positive comments also affirm that the Philips AVENT SCD535 baby monitor is a superior communications tool.

For example, one revewer, who supported the remarks of other positive reviewers, said that the Philips AVENT SCD535 DETC baby monitor was durable and lightweight, and provided crystal clear reception.

PhilipsAVENTSCD535DECTBabyMonitor

She liked the “lullaby” feature although she wished the tunes were longer in duration. However, overall, the reviewer of the product said she would undoubtedly recommend it for anyone seeking a deluxe quality monitor.

Very Satisfied with the Purchase

Another positive review came from a reviewer who said she had the monitor for six months and was very satisfied with her purchase. She liked the temperature and humidity tracking features on the device, which helped her determine when to use a humidifier in her child’s nursery. Like the previous reviewer, she thought the lullabies on the unit did not play a sufficient length of time.

A Fantastic Product

Yet, another commenter, who offered a positive review, termed the monitor as “fantastic” – a monitoring unit that provided a clear and reliable sound.

On Negative Review

Even with all the glowing reviews, one consumer did not have quite as “shining” of experience. She said she used the Philips baby monitor while on vacation and that the device proved to be a disappointment. She noted that she received a good deal of interference when using the baby monitor during her stay at a hotel.

In Summation . . .

All in all, though, the Philips AVENT baby monitor was lauded for its superior sound, remote-activated lullabies, and temperature and humidity monitoring. While some consumers felt the lullabies could have played for a longer time, most users did emphasize that the Philips AVENT SCD535 baby monitor was a device they’d definitely endorse. One negative comment came from a consumer who used the device on holiday, saying that the monitor did not offer a good level of sound. However, given that the monitor was not used at home, one has to factor in the location as a possible reason for the less-than-complimentary review.

BT Baby Monitor Pacifier Review – A Select Choice

The BT Baby Monitor Pacifier – Practical and Stylish

The BT Baby Monitor Pacifier is one item that is both practical and stylish. Plus, it comes with a variety of features that will make it all the more valuable to own. If you are in a quandary with respect to a baby monitor choice, then the BT digital baby monitor is one that you’ll want to include at the top of your shopping list.

The BT Digital Baby Monitor – A Deluxe Audio Monitor

The BT Baby Monitor Pacifier falls under the classification of an audio baby monitor with a number of desirable features. Basic monitors come with limited amenities and can be lacking with respect to monitoring. However, a good monitor like the BT digital baby monitor includes two-way communication, or a talkback feature which permits parents to talk to baby, and comes with a temperature display, natural sounds and music, and a nightlight too.

Distinctive Sound Quality

In particular, the BT Baby Monitor Pacifier is preferred by parents as it also is equipped with high-definition sound and will vibrate any alerts. High definition sound allows the parent to hear their baby without distortion and, therefore, without worry as the sound is so distinct. While this feature is not exactly necessary when baby is crying, it certainly brings peace of mind at any other time. Parents like the talk back feature on the unit as it enables them to soothe their baby if he is crying and they are in another room.

BTBabyMonitorPacifier

Some Noted Features

The nightlight feature is unique as it will color-code the room temperature, so to speak. It softly shines blue if the room temp is a bit cool, orange if the temperature is a bit too high, and red if the temperature is too warm for comfort. Yellow glows if the room temperature is at the right setting. The actual temperature is also displayed on the unit. In addition, a light show comes with the baby monitor as well an auxiliary input for MP3.

Product Features Summary

  • Projected light show
  • Digital sound quality with high definition sound (Hi-dsTM)
  • Auxiliary MP3 music input
  • 19 lullabies with superb sound
  • Blue backlit LCD on parent unit
  • 1-year manufacturers warranty

No Complaints

Consumers simply love this product, with most of the Amazon reviewers giving the monitor a five-star rating with a couple four-star ratings sprinkled in the mix. Perhaps, the only complaint was the price (which is around £80). Still, even that reviewer felt the monitor was well worth the price, given its access to MP3 music.

What you will Receive

Take the BT Baby Monitor Pacifier conveniently with you as it comes with a travel bag. When you buy this product, you will receive two units – one for baby and the other for parents, a charger, rechargeable batteries for the parent unit, two power adapters and the aforementioned tote.

Samsung Digital Video Baby Monitor Reviews

Samsung Baby Monitor is primarily hailed for its ability to integrate with various web chat platforms. Most of its adherents have bought the unit for this special capability. The LCD is also praised for its good image resolution— even in pitch black darkness, a feature that many parents highly appreciate.

The built-in battery has a fairly long life that ensures uninterrupted chatting and viewing, especially for those who are leaving their children for a short trip out-of-town.

A number of customers observe that some features of Samsung’s video monitor are unnecessary. The alarm system, according to few negative reviews, is too sensitive that it sets off at the slightest movement every time. Adjusting the sensitivity has become an arduous and annoying chore for some, because it is done on each viewing units. The internal thermometers are also unreliable in giving an accurate temperature reading. Occasionally, there is trouble with the signal range, but it is easily corrected with just a tweaking of the antennae.

Overall, when it comes to connecting parents with their children, Samsung Digital Video Baby Monitor is still the best option. Despite trivial shortcomings, people have more good things to say about it than otherwise. It’s a digital device whose benefits far outweigh its cost. Compared to competitors’ counterparts, it also happens to be the best looking one that the market has to offer.

Summer Infant Video Baby Monitor Reviews

There are a handful of online reviews posted for Summer Infant Slim & Secure Digital Video Monitor yet they provide enough information on the monitor’s performance. The impressed customers reported that this compact and secure baby monitor is fantastic. The quality of the sound and picture is excellent even in a room with blackout blinds and next to the Wi-Fi router. It’s really easy to plug in and use straight away, compact enough to take to friends or family for evenings out or overnight stays and the battery life seems to last longer than the stated 10 hours. This Summer baby monitor  itself is of the size of a large mobile phone and surprisingly light so it can be carried around in a pocket or whatever quite easily.

The handheld unit is nice and light and has a good stand at the back. The video unit is easy to move to get the right image. Overall, this baby monitor is a very clear and silent device with a very good quality camera. The picture is very clear both during the day and night and there has been no interference.

One reviewer, however, experienced the screen of this Summer Infant video monitor going blank after a couple of minutes when on battery mode. It turns the display off to save battery. Another issue is its relative short signal range. You couldn’t take it to more than 30 metres without losing images.

With an outstanding average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars, it’s plain to see that Summer Infant Slim & Secure Digital Video Monitor is amongst the great baby monitoring products in the market. The picture is as good as you would want and it’s really nice how the unit converts to a clear black and white infrared image in low or no light conditions. The screen is clear with an automatic day/night change. Also, the baby monitor is very compact, very portable and the battery on the receiver lasts really long. This Summer Infant video monitor is really an impressive baby monitor which will knock-off other products in its range.

Motorola MBP35 Digital Video Baby Monitor has everything you need in monitoring your baby anywhere you are at home. It is equipped with 3.5-inch LCD colour screen, crystal clear sound, high-sensitivity microphone and infrared night vision. The two-way sound communication function lets you talk to your baby from the parent unit. It also comes with a temperature monitor for you to know when the baby’s room gets to hot or too cold.

Motorola MBP 35 Baby Monitor Reviews

The online reviews we found are mostly favourable for Motorola MBP35 Digital Video Baby Monitor. It has a very clear picture, picks up even quiet sounds and best of all, the night vision is great for dark room. The soft glow from the camera means you can see baby clearly. It has a good warning alarm on the display which sounds if the camera is turned off. This device is perfect. Works well and picture is more than sufficient. The night vision, sound and levels of sensitivity are good as well.

This Motorola baby monitor is fantastic as you get a great picture even of the baby’s breathing. The night vision is very good too with the infrared system. The baby monitor picks up the signal quickly. The picture quality is very good in the day time and at night even in the pitch-black baby can be seen very clearly. The voice activation mode means the monitor can be switched off and only comes on if baby makes a noise. If you want to see very accurate detail during the night this might not be the best out there but is certainly adequate.

One user whined about talk button on the baby monitor unit that allows you to speak through a speaker in the camera. However, it sounds very loud and there is no volume control feature. The sound is poor and it hisses even when you turn it down to its lowest.  The parent unit is an awkward shape to pick up and not easy to grip. Also it doesn’t last long when not plugged in, so it’s not so good if you want to move it from room to room.

Motorola MBP35 Digital Video Baby Monitor is pretty good. Although there are minor issues over its design, majority of its users seemed to be satisfied with this baby monitor so it got an average rating of 3.8 out of 5 stars. For many users, this device works as it should and its visual and audio monitoring features are good enough for the price.

Summer Infant  Baby Monitor Reviews

Our thorough research for Summer Infant Baby Zoom Digital Video Monitor showed quite a few numbers of reviews. Most users who were pleased with this product agreed that this is by far superior. It has equal picture quality and you don’t need any extra cameras, as this one will allow you to see almost the whole room.

Picture quality is perfectly decent and certainly better than old video monitors and the zoom function is a helpful addition. If pushed to be critical, maybe the colours aren’t 100% accurate during daylight, but neither are they at all bad or weird so don’t be concerned on that front and in any case the cameras are mainly used at night.

Night vision is very good, with a clear picture and sufficient range to see anywhere even in quite large rooms whilst the night vision is basically black and white. The range is very good, although the image does become slightly grainy the further from the camera you get.

Upon comparing Summer baby monitor to other devices, few users seem to find flaws. In contrast to the Angelcare baby monitor, which does everything exactly as advertised, this really is the opposite end of the scale. For audio, there is no automatic level control or cut-out, so the audio is on all the time and permanently emits a high pitched whine. There’s not enough adjustment as the lowest isn’t quite low enough. You could only use the Summer Infant video monitor with the audio muted or it would drive you insane. If you put the clearly simulated photo of the baby on the advert through a shredder and glued the bits randomly back on the screen you would be closer to reality.

So many things are badly thought out. The stand is useless; the sound meter is stupidly linked to volume of the unit rather than volume of the baby. The menus can only be accessed when the video is on so if you want to adjust volume, you firstly have to press the button on top to turn video on, then the menu button, and then adjust volume. It’s not exactly simple or well thought out. The signal does seem to interrupt WiFi connection but moving the monitor a couple of meters away solved this.

Majority of its online reviewers chose Summer Infant Baby Zoom Digital Video Monitor over other baby monitoring devices and they seemed to appreciate the performance of the device. The main issue with this unit, which some considered minor, is its lack of automatic control for the audio. Otherwise, this is a very good device with lots of helpful features and performs really well.

Tomy Walkabout Platinum Baby Monitor – Avoid

Tomy Walkabout Platinum Digital Baby Monitor utilizes Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT) technology and offers 120 channels to give you an operation without interference yet guarantees your privacy.

Retaining the features of  Tomy Premier Advanced Monitor, an innovative vibrate feature has been added that increases when intensity of the baby’s cry increases. It monitors your baby within a range of 300 metres and has a timer switch to track the baby’s last feeding time.

Your baby wants to hear your voice and you want to hear even the slightest sound from your baby. The two-way talk-balk function does great on that. The Tomy Walkabout baby unit is equipped with smooth, soothing nightlight that you can activate remotely. The parent unit features sound sensitive light display and has digital temperature display.

You can have all the freedom that you want with this Tomy baby monitor. It can be securely placed on a belt or just have it close at hand and enjoy every activity anywhere in the house without worrying about your baby.

The baby unit requires four AA batteries to operate. Tomy baby monitors are not exclusive for baby monitoring. They can be used to monitor toddlers while they play in their rooms, monitor an elderly and practically for any in-house communication.

Tomy Walkabout Platinum Digital Baby Monitor Reviews

After a thorough research, we found 63 reviews for Tomy Walkabout Platinum Digital Baby Monitor. Some users were satisfied with this Tomy monitor saying that it really is the best one on the market, very loud and clear, easy to turn the sound down, very clear with no interference whatsoever.

The other good thing is, if it is noisy, you have the possibility to have the monitor on to vibrate instead of sound, and you still have the lights showing when there is any sound. The Digital monitor is fantastic, range, sound, night light, and temp readout are really good.

The Tomy baby monitor performs brilliantly through the thick walls of a castle, and the long corridors of hotels. Reception is clear, and the thermometer is accurate. The sound quality of this product is super. It has some really great features especially the talking facility. The temperature feature and the night light are very handy also. The sound quality is 100% better, the range is excellent.

On the downside, it does give feedback if you forget you have it on your belt and walk into the baby’s room. The Tomy Walkabout digital baby monitor is very easy to accidentally press the buttons; the battery lasts for about 15 minutes. It is hopeless if you actually need to walk around carrying the monitor.

It is not long before the low-battery bleep kicks in, and you have to stick it back on the recharge unit again to stop the bleeps. The remote unit does not hold the battery charge for very long at all, and appears to deplete quickly the more it is used.

The whole purpose of a baby monitor is peace of mind. This Tomy baby monitor does not do this as the battery life is very poor. Overnight you have to leave it charging as if you don’t you’re awakened by the beeping of the battery going low, the speaker doesn’t work so you can’t hear anything, although it is vibrating so it is picking up the noise.

The pair connects up, for a second, then disconnects and doesn’t reconnect unless you switch them both off. The parent base unit is wobbly and doesn’t stand up properly, it’s like it is top heavy when used on different surfaces.  If choosing to use the belt click then you have to keep checking that the monitor stays ‘on’ as the button opposite the belt click turns the whole thing off.

Tomy Walkabout Platinum Digital Baby Monitor seems to be a good monitor but most users consider its flaws as serious. One of the most important things in monitor is to have a good battery life to be reliable. However, this Tomy baby monitor seems to spend more time in its charger rather than monitoring. We suggest you try to look for another baby monitor.

BT 150 Digital Baby Monitor Reviews

BT Baby Monitor 150 has more than 300 online reviews on Amzon.co.uk. Vast majority of its users were satisfied with this baby monitor. It’s solid, the features and product design are well thought out and the battery life is phenomenal, which is such a huge help when you’re travelling with your baby monitor. A small point but indicative of the attention to detail is that the baby light is a warm yellow rather than a cold blue as on the Tomy which was nasty and felt like one of those UV fly traps left on in shops over night.

The BT150 is a well designed baby monitor incorporating a whole host of handy functions to help parents with keeping an eye or ear on their little ones once they have been put down for the night. Both core sections of the monitor are constructed using a thick plastic casing giving them a sturdy exterior in case of any accidental knocks or drop pages. Both sections need to be placed relatively close to a plug socket so that they can be plugged. The BT digital baby monitor includes a temperature gauge which alerts the parents when the room’s temperature is either higher or lower than the preset temperature range. The preset temperature range can be easily adjusted, allowing for total control for the parents.

Other handy features from BT baby monitor are a comforting nightlight to help the babies get to sleep with. There’s also a timer, so that you can monitor or schedule how long you want the babies to sleep for. All of the alerts and speakers can have their volumes and sensitivities adjusted, including using the vibrate facility like with a mobile phone. The parent’s unit also comes with an incredibly handy clip so that it can be easily secured on to a belt or item of clothing. This means you can get on with things around the house without having to remember to constantly pick up the monitor. The batteries in the parent monitor are automatically re-charged on the charging cradle each time you put it back on it.

On the downside,  the handset has loads of gadgets but the main concern is that the volume is a bit too low when the monitor is on full. If you’re not close enough to the monitor you can’t hear baby cry clearly.

BT Baby Monitor 150 has proven to be an efficient monitor with its high average rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars from its online reviewers. There’s a minor issue on the signal that very few users had experienced, but the overall performance of this baby monitor makes it a great device. It’s one of the baby monitor in the market that’s worth buying.

The online reviews for Angelcare AC401 Baby Movement Sensor Pad and Sound Monitor are mostly positive. The users who were impressed with it said that the device is nice and slick with a good user interface and shows the room temperature.

It is also very clever by only playing audio when it detects baby crying. If the baby stops crying it will leave the audio channel open for a minute afterwards. You can also set alerts for if the temperature drops below or goes above a certain point.

AngelcareAC401BabyMonitorThe sound quality on this Angelcare baby monitor is superb with zero interference and this has so many great features over and above the movement sensor such as temperature alarm, also the choice of sound activated monitoring or continuous.

The night light is lovely also, just enough to see your child without disturbing her by putting extra lights on. The sensor mat gives excellent peace of mind as all you need to do is check that the pendulum is swinging or if the green light is flashing.

A small number of users was not perfectly happy with it though and commented that the visual indication of movement detection on the parent unit is a swinging pendulum, and given that the screen is an illuminated LCD type, you can’t see this clearly unless you look very closely at the screen.

With Angelcare AC401 Baby Monitor’s high average rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars, it obviously delivers what users expect from it. There are some features that few users wished could have been better but the overall performance of this product outweighed those minor issues. This Angelcare baby monitor gets our high recommendation as a great buy.
