Summary: Feel Good Blog
HEY! Just a place to come after a hard day and get some inspiration for tomorrow! Enjoy some of the simple things that make us smile or ponder lifes many questions.
Im sitting here paying bills, trying not to read the news or dwell
on the less positive things going on in the world today...what can
I say...its hard! The news is full of crazy things way beyond my
control both affecting me financially and on a personal level
regarding my thoughts towards my fellow man. Robberies, murder,
families breaking up, poverty, really the list is almost endless.
Everyplace you go this holiday season there seems to be some one in
need asking for a dollar donation of sorts. Sometimes I give
sometimes I dont. All seem to be reasonable requests. With the
economy the way it is its only natural more of us are hurting this
year than previous ones. More is required from those that, "have,"
to help those that "have less". What to do? When will it end? How
can you/I make a difference?
Its with these thoughts the mind wanders to my family and close
friends. My spouse, Kids, parents and those few precious people
that are real friends rather than acquaintances. What am I doing
for them? What is my legacy? What is IMPORTANT? My father, a
retired minister of 45 years and still living at 80 years of age,
told me not too long ago, "every man I was ever with while he was
on his death bed wanted only 2 things, he wanted to be surrounded
by his family and know where he was going."
With my fathers words in mind I will conclude spending time with
family as the number one priority, trying to prepare for the
future financially and spiritually as second and helping my
fellow man as third.
What are your thoughts?

Anyone reading this
that is from small town America knows what I am already talking
about. Being from a very small community in Upstate NY with the
proverbial 1 traffic light, I have learned a few things over the
years. First I am eternally grateful to have been raised in that
type of environment. Family values, a good work ethic, helping
others you know seem to be a way of life in these areas. Second is
to return to "your" small town. Two months ago I went back "home"
after an absence of 5 years thinking I had missed nothing. I was
wrong. I missed friends, relatives,I new born babies and although
painful, I missed some deaths as well. This probably bothered me
the most and is what stirred the writing you see here. I have been
so caught up with life I didnt see the value for the return trip to
my roots and in the process missed some priceless time with people
that influenced my life forever. The picture of the old firetruck
was taken during the Christmas Parade where I currently live over a
thousand miles from where I was born. You see I live in another
"small town America" now and that brings up my last thought. After
living for 50 years and traveling across this great country, small
town America is Small town America anywhere you go.

I cant take the credit for finding this. I think some one posted it
on my Face Book page and to whoever you are , thank you.
I didnt have silly, spontaneous, cool Grandparents. They never
would have dreamed being like these 2 ladies.
To the ladies in the video, if you see this, we love you and hope
someday we are just like you!

Ok, a little silly on my part but when I saw this on Ebay for $3.5
Million I had to blog it. Am I the only one or does this seem a
little steep to you?
Bob Barker must be more popular than I give him credit for.

I was thinking about some, "situations," I have right now and was
thinking about how different we are from each other. While deep
in thought I remembered this little video I took On Venice Beach
4 years ago. I came home and dug this little gem out and after
watching it, most people...most people...are a lot more alike
than I first thought. When you get right down to it I wonder how
many in the video want good health, to be recognized,
appreciated, loved...Then it dawned on me, we all want those
things its how we try to attain them that is different.

Hmmmmm....gonna try something a friend suggested. I have been told
if I do this in the morning before leaving for work I will feel
better. Seems nuts....OK here goes!
OK! I did it! Yes I did feel better. Cant say as the exercise was
that much but it kept me smiling most of the day. I rank this as
"Yes, worth it!"

Well, Im not going into the long story of how it happend but today
I accidentally wound up in some ones living room with 12 women
clipping coupons...for 2 hours. Now let me start by saying there
were 3 professional coupon clippers (CCs) present. I never seen
anything like it. They were pulling these long grocery receipts
from their backpacks some totaling close to $300! Now Im all for
saving a dollar but on the bottom of these receipts the actual
amounts paid were less than $30! It was jaw dropping! You want a
better one? Some of the receipts had an overage (overage= more for
coupons than the groceries cost) which you get applied somehow to
your next purchase or something like that anyway. It was explained
in great detail how they never pay for anything like noodles,
spaghetti, toothpaste, deoderant and God forbid the store give a 2
for 1 special and offer a coupon for those items the same week. I
think I heard every angle that could possibly be used including
great picture taking and texting plan to alert everyone of
potential deals while actually out shopping. The great story behind
all this was the three ladies were teaching others going through
some tough times how to do the same thing. Latonya, Carmen and Mary
( the coupon cartel) made notebooks for everyone including me and
no, they didnt know I was going to be there. They made special
baskets with various items for prizes and gifts. I didnt know these
ladies 1 minute before I walked in the front door! I marveled at
the passion in that room today. The willingness to share. To help
others. To make a difference. Did I mention they fed everyone too?
Im still smiling!

OK, I know you get them every once in a while. You know, those
e-mails that sometimes are funny but most of the time are pretty
stupid. Im going to admit I open most all of them, yes, even the
ones from my Mom. You have seen them. Its the bouncing ball to the
words of a silly song or Rabbits singing on easter. Oh yeah, the
chain letter types, "if you forward this to 10 people you will have
good luck this week".
LOVE YOU MOM! So once in a while I get
a funny video and thought Id share one with you. If you are
squeamish just stick with this one. It has a good ending!
