The Wii is
officially the fastest selling games console EVER! With am
impressive total of 56million consoles shipped worldwide. Ever
since the Nintendo Wii hit the streets, people have been coming up
with new ways to circumvent the copy protection of games and the
first
Nintendo Wii Mod Chip was born,
allowing copies and third party applications to be loaded.
If your looking for a Nintendo Wii Mod Chip you should
consider-
Wiinja Nintendo Wii Mod Chip
When the Wiinja was first released, it turned the Nintendo Wii
scene upside down. You could freely play all of your Nintendo Wii
and Gamecube copied games or play region restricted games without
any restriction. It is however, impossible to update and upgrade
the chip.
Wii Key Nintendo Wii Modchip
The Wii Key Nintendo Wii Mod Chip was released shortly after the
original Wiinja, the main difference been that it could be flashed
with new software and upgrades, the same guys that developed the
outstanding XenoGC modchips are also responsible for the creation
of the WiiKey. Installation is done almost wirelessly, meaning that
there are quick solder pads on the chip for a speedy
installation.
Cyclo-Wiz Nintendo Wii Mod Chip
The CycloWiz stands head and shoulders above every other Nintendo
Wii Mod Chip due to its ease of installation. For the first time
you will not need to solder additional wires into your Nintendo Wii
to fully install the CycloWiz. The entire installation process is
done with QuickSolder pads unlike the WiiKey. Although a faster
installation you still need some level of soldering skills before
attempting this.
You will be able to use your Nintendo Wii Mod Chip to do things
like -
-
- Boot copys/backups of Wii and Gamecube console games
-
- Supports blank DVD's
-
- Region free gaming
-
It is worth checking out the installation process for each of the
chips before you decide on which to buy as they all have the same
basic functionality.
There is an easier way to chip your Wii though, especially if you
can't solder - the soft mod. The soft mod takes less than 10
minutes to install and doesn't need any soldering; in fact all you
will need to install it is an SD memory card.

If you're looking for the best way
to mod your Nintendo Wii- Then you should learn more about the Wii
soft chip. Both the Wii soft chip and modchip are neck and neck in
terms of function, but the soft mod does not have any of the
problems or disadvantages a modchip has.
Installing the Wii soft chip makes a variety of changes to the
Nintendo Wii's system, you can play/run copied games without any
restriction as the Wii's copy protection is fully disabled. However
the
Wii soft chip provides
additional features that will see your jaw hit floor in
amazement!
Wii Soft Chip Benefits
Play Backups
- The Wii soft chip disables the Nintendo Wii's copy protection
mechanism allowing you to load copied/backed up Wii & Gamecube
games
Make Copys Of Games
- You can make copies of any Wii game you own, have borrowed or
rented from your local video store
Classic Games
- Pick an emulator for your favourite classic console and play them
on your Wii, including the PS1, N64 and SNES. Whether you want to
play F-Zero or Tomb Raider - its all possible with an emulator.
Watch DVD's
- One of the biggest features missing from the Wii is DVD support.
The Wii soft chip bypasses this and enables full support for DVD
playback.
Multimedia Hub
- You can watch XviD movies/TV shows or listen to your favorite
music through your Nintendo Wii with the impressive media-center
application
You can do all of that and more with the Wii soft chip!
Why The Wii Soft Chip Dominates The Modchip
Quite simply, the modchip cannot compete agains the
Wii soft chip on any level, largely due to the
significant drawbacks every modchip has. The soft chip is better
because-
-
- It can be bought for under $30
-
- The Wii soft chip does not need soldering
-
- You can install the softchip yourself in under 15 minutes
-
- It does not damage your warranty in any way
-

There are a few different soft chips available. Every soft chip
does the same thing, but bear in mind the price and level of
customer support does differentiate them.

The Nintendo Wii is more
affordable than ever thanks to the many cost decreases declared by
Nintendo as the Wii grows its market share against its
competitors.
You will nonetheless want to buy a few complementary accessorys to
compliment your Nintendo Wii video games console. There are
ridicolous endless quantities of accessories for the Wii, you could
drop a lot of cash so I am going to cover the key ones-
Extra WiiMotes
You just get one WiiMote with the Nintendo Wii console. To really
savour the Wii there is no doubt you will want additional
controllers so your family and friends can get involved. The Wii
shouts for multiplayer gaming.
AV Cables
The Wii includes some pretty basic cables to get up and functional.
If you have a big LCD Tv Set you will want to buy the component
Audio/Video wires as this will severely increase the quality of the
picture on screen.
Docking Station
The outstanding matter I hold with the Nintendo Wii is it is a
proper drain on battery power. This can be combated with a
controller dock and rechargeable batterys which will make sure your
controls are always fully charged and ready to use.
Flash Memory Card
Expand the storage of your Nintendo Wii by utilising a memory card
upto 2 GB. Fortunately memory cards are generally inexpensive and
you can use cheap and nasty generic SD storage cards from Amazon
etc.
Nintendo Wii Chipping Service
The Nintendo Wii can turn into an expensive matter very quick, and
the biggest cost through time is the games themselves. When you
have purchased a soft mod, you can freely backup games and load
copies on your Wii and it simply costs $29. You can also download
computer games and burn them to a blank DVD! Once you have bought
the soft modification it takes below 10 minutes to install. The
softmod is the most worthy Wii add-on you can purchase.
That is my own list of needed Nintendo Wii add-ons. Discover more

When the Gamecube
was released in 2001, Nintendo started work on an all new console,
initially named the Revolution. Nintendos focus for the next
console was simple and to focus on a new form of player
interaction. Nintendo did not want to compete on hardware
specification and that the video games market may suffer if
everyone was competing for power. The basic and simplce concepts
applied helped to create the Wii as it is today.
The Nintendo Wii is the 5th games console to be launched by
Nintendo and was originally announced at E3 2004. At that point, no
one really knew what the Wii was about until Nintendo unveiled it
for the first time at E3 2005.
Nintendo rocked the world at the Tokyo Game Show as they gave the
first full demonstration of the Nintendo Wii
When Nintendo named the console 'Wii' during the 2006 E3, it faced
its first media backlash as the original named revolution was
thought to be better
The Wii was officially released later that year on the 19th
November in the USA and the 8th December in the UK. The UK Suffered
from a huge shortage at launch as Nintendo had distributed most of
the consoles to the USA.
To date, the Wii has sold well over 56 million units - beating off
intense competition from the xbox360 and PS3
