One of the best presents I received recently was the gift of
vouchers, surprisingly enough. I know, I always thought that
vouchers and tokens are normally a bit of a lazy gift but this time
they added convenience and choice to a quite wonderful idea.My man
is usually useless at picking gifts for women [1], not just me, you
should have seen some of the things he's bought his mother in the
past. I don't know, possibly it's the way boys are raised, in which
case it's her own darn fault that she always gets such rubbish
gifts, she should have thrashed him more soundly as a child, she'd
get better presents now! Anyway, the vouchers he bought for me last
year were for a spa break [2] which I'm certain he must have had
some advice selecting, whatever happened, rather than trying to
wrap up a clothes airer to look like a diamond necklace and studs
or a ironing board disguised as a weekend for two in Paris he gave
me spa vouchers [3] which were redeemable later on at a time of my
convenience and I got to choose the treatment I received. Honestly,
I can imagine leaving a decision on which specific treatments I had
with him, somehow, somewhere he would have found a treatment called
Jungle Roar and Light Trauma and thought it a fantastic choice for
Christmas! No, instead of that, I had a wonderful time being
pampered and treated like royalty and where I might normally feel a
little bit guilty about spending money on myself and coming away
with absolutely nothing to show for it but a lightness of step and
a deep glow I was able to forget all about the cost because it was
all being paid for by him, wonderful! All I'm left wondering is, who
did he get to help him make such a well considered gift? [1]
