These may not make sense- I just copied the questions down... 1. When you step outside to see if there are rain clouds in the sky, you are checking the Weather/Climate. 2. If you look through your town's records for average temperature and rainfall over the past 10 years, you are looking at Weather/Climate data. 3. T/F Latitude is a measure of how far a place is from the equator. 4. T/F The amount of solar energy that a particular area receives is determined, in part, by its latitude. 5. T/F The sun makes a smaller angle with the Earth at lower latitudes. 6. During June and July, why is it summer in the Northern Hemisphere and winter in the Southern Hemisphere? 7. As cold air is heated, it can hold warm/less water vapor. As the warm air rises, it warms/cools. 8. There will probably be more precipitation in an area if the prevailing winds are warm and dry/cold and dry/warm and moist/cold and moist. 9. T/F Winds tend to be drier if they blow across land. 10. T/F The prevailing wind that blow across the Sahara Desert are formed from warm, dry, sinking air. 11. Mount Kilimanjaro is located very close to the equator. Why is Mount Kilimanjaro always snowy and cold at the top? 12. (Put the steps of rain-shadow formation in the correct order by writing the corresponding number in the appropriate space.) _____ Air crosses the mountains and beguins to sink. _____ Air cools and releases moisture. _____ Air warms and absorbs moisture. _____ Air rises and meets mountains. _____ Air produces a desert. 13. Which of the following statements about surface currents is NOT true? They can move along the coastlines. They are always warm. They influence an area's climate. They occur near the surface of the ocean. 14. Why does southern Iceland have milder temperatures than Greenland? Please write the number and the answer neatly so that I know! Best answer: Answer by ~K1- weather, (climate is the average over time) 2- climate, for the same reason as above 3-T 4- T (because it has an effect on the angle that the sun's rays reach the location) 5- F (lower latitudes are closer to the equator where the sun is most potent) 6- because earth is tilted on a 23 degree axis and when one hemisphere is tilted up towards the sun, the other is tilted away 7- i think it's warms for the first, and then cools 8- i don't understand the wording..... 9- T 10- not sure 11- because of it's altitude above sea level, and the atmosphere is much, much thinner 12- not sure 13- not sure, but mabe the they are always warm one 14- probably because its southern latitude ensures it receives more solar energy, or the currents which approach it are warm currents Know better?
