Their cage needs to have enough space for them. 18 inches squared by 30 inches high is enough for them. Make sure the your ferret can't get out of their cage when you are not home.

It will also be a good idea to purchase toys for pet ferrets to play with. Ferrets have sharp teeth so make sure their toys can withstand the attention they are going to receive. Exercising your ferret is also important, walking is good for them and you just make sure you have them on a leash.

When they are not in a cage, make sure you keep an eye on them. This will prevent them from chewing cords, carrying away small objects, swallowing things or escaping out the house which is better known as ferret proofing your home.
