Adesso Cybertablet M14 works like an electronic notepad allowing the user to turn free-hand work into an electronic file. The Adesso Cybertablet is adaptable to both PC’s and Mac’s and works with a driver preloaded on most current computers.

Depending on the age of the computer, the driver may need to be updated. A portable device, the tablet can be used for art or handwriting, presentations and seminars or just plain doodling. The writing device is called a pen or stylus that creates the electronic line when it touches the tablet. Creating the electronic line or image is sometimes called digitizing.

The work does not show up on the Adesso Cybertablet M14 graphics tablet itself but on the computer screen. The work can be created freehand or by tracing an image that is taped to the tablet work zone. The image can be manipulated by a variety of software programs that recognize such a feature.

Some of the capabilities of the tablet includes programming macro and hot keys and the rolling pad. The program also has defined hot keys such as cut, paste and copy.

There are few negatives to the Adesso Cybertablet M14 graphics tablet that prevent potential users to shy away from purchasing it. Customer service was found to be slow and time consuming for answering even the simplest of questions.

With phone, email and Help Desk requests help, and answers to questions and problems are not addressed in a timely manner. The surface of the Adesso Cybertablet is subject to scratches even after little use. The work flow is often interrupted with the stylus entering “sleep mode” after a short time of non use. Wacom Intuos4 Tablet Reviews

Our research team found over a couple of hundred online reviews for Wacom Intuos4 pen tablet.

WacomIntuos4PenTabletThe pleased users stated that this product is excellent. Instead of the gray metallic look of the Intuos3, it hosts a cool black matte finish with a high-gloss black side panel. This drawing tablet is a lot thinner than the intuos3, a much lower profile, and 16:9 aspect ratio.

The biggest design change from the Intuos3 is the layout of the ExpressKeys. Because of the ambidextrous design, Wacom placed all the keys on one side of the tablet, so there are more keys available to the users. The Touch Ring is the biggest innovation in the Intuos4.

The Touchstrip was great, but you can only assign one function to the strip, but with the new touch ring, you can assign 4 different functions, switchable with the press of the central bottom. What this means is that you can assign Zoom, Rotate, Brush Size, Opacity, Flow etc., all to a single Touchring, which greatly boosts productivity, and makes the tablet more intuitive to use. This is especially true with the new ‘Rotate’ feature in Photoshop CS4.

In addition, the new improved tablet surface is perhaps as close as you can get with real Pen-on-Paper experience with a digital tablet. Wacom Intuos4 medium has more sensitivity, doubling from 1024 to a whopping 2048 levels. It’s a nice improvement when sketching very light construction lines like ghosting. The scroll wheel is a nice addition and offers good control when zooming.

Like its intuos3 predecessor, the pen is ergonomic and comfortable. Pen holder has good functionality because it now holds your spare nibs. It’s convenient since you will need to replace nibs like crazy.

Some reviewers found few flaws with its design though. Placing the express keys on one side is a great idea, but they are too firm. They also are placed awkwardly, are too small, and sizes are too similar.  When you have wrist issues in the past, these buttons are not ergonomic at all.

Wacom Intuos4 pen tablet is highly rated in online reviews with an average of 4.6 out of 5 stars. It’s plain and clear that the tablet’s overall performance is of high quality. Few users found minor inconveniences while using it but the majority of users were very impressed with it.

If you are thinking about upgrading from intuos2 or an Intuos3, the Intuos4 almost becomes must. The ergonomic Intuos4 pen alone makes it a necessary upgrade. Intuos has made a successful development to Intuos4 from its predecessors, making it a great product.

If you wish to purchase the Wacom Intuos4  pen tablet, it is available through Amazon.com here. It’s currently on sale.

Genius Tablet PenSketch Reviews

Few users who were pleased with Genius PenSketch 9X12 Graphics Tablet stated that its features are easy to use even if you don’t know much about computers and the handling is near perfect. Genius tablet tracks quickly with no appreciable delay. This computer drawing pad allows you to adjust sensitivity through the brush palette in Photoshop so all the flexibility of you need for your favorite tools is there.

What really shines here is the size. The 9×12-inch drawing surface will give you plenty of room for the big, broad strokes. It works great and loads easily. It makes drawing a lot easier. It loads drawings to computer with ease and saves all the drawings.

However, most users observed that you can’t actually hover over the Genius tablet without it using sticky-keys or auto-right clicking or selecting everything. The Sensitivity is flawed as well. When you hover the stylus over the tablet grants Extreme Pressure of about 1000, but when actually touching the tablet with stylus, it reverts to 0% pressure.

The Installation program interface is cheap, and not user friendly.  In an attempt to remedy this, apparently there were no options to change settings of the tablet pressure sensory defaults. Don’t be fooled by the ‘user-assignable’ pen buttons.

The buttons may only be programmed for left-right-double clicks. Tough buns if you want to program something like the ‘Alt’, ‘CTRL’ or another modifier for use in your favorite graphic design package. Its pen is jittery so is its mouse, being an artist the precision that you look for is simply missing.

There are more negative feedbacks than positives for Genius PenSketch 9X12 graphics tablet. Few users may have been impressed with it but majority of its reviewers were seeing more flaws which make this graphic tablet got a low average rating of 2.8 out of 5 stars. Graphic tablets are quite expensive so it’s best to choose one that performs really well if not great. Steer clear from this one.

Wacom Cintiq 12WX Graphics Tablet Review

With so many positive feedbacks for Wacom Cintiq 12WX 12-Inch Pen Display from its online reviewers, it didn’t take us long to know that this device performs well.

WacomCintiq12WX12-InchPenDisplayThe display is vibrant and the controls are great, it has 2 touch pads Identical for keys, left handed or right handed. The power cord is very sturdy and flexible. It takes 5 to 10 minutes to configure to your computer after you install the drivers. You can configure or assign the buttons to each program individually. It is movable in a small area and portable.

The Cintiq 12WX itself is about the same size as a laptop, but you’ll need a diaper bag or specially designed bag to carry all the extras that power it.  The light weight design is very easy for you to move around, rotate and place.  It seems just as responsive as any of Wacom’s Intuos 3 tablets if you were using one with an existing monitor, with the same sensitivity levels and tilt.

The colors are vibrant, and the resolution for the size screen is very functional, not sacrificing legibility of interface for screen real estate. What you must understand is that it is built solid. For a professional tool that holds up against the abuse of real world production, the price is actually cheap. Comparing the costs of a typical monitor and Intuos to this doesn’t make sense. It’s built way better than those cheap screens.

For the downside, the video control box is kind of messy with all the cables connecting to it. This simply doesn’t fly when you’re trying to keep a steady hand and get a good line while drawing or painting.

It’s also annoying when you’re just trying to click on something in the menu bar at the top of the screen. The Wacom Cintiq 12WX itself is very thin so it lends itself to portability, but when you have to consider all the extra cables and connections you have to make, it doesn’t work out so well. When you’re actually drawing in Photoshop, the line doesn’t look nearly as crisp as on Apple Cinema display.

Despite some issues raised for Wacom tablet  by few users, it got a high average rating of 4.2 out 0f 5 stars which clearly indicates that this device impressed majority of the users. This is a feature-packed device with so much to offer and performs at its best.

You can buy this Wacom Cintiq 12WX cheap online through Amazon here. It’s currently on sale for $200 cheaper.

VisTablet 12-Inch Graphics Tablet Reviews

The online reviews for VisTablet 12-Inch Tablet are mostly positive. Impressed users reported that it works well when drawing blueprints, and similar applications. It’s also nice that it uses AAA battery instead of those disk-style batteries used in watches.  It’s very slim, probably like a stack of 20 sheets of printing paper and has ability to trace.

Just lift up protective cover and stick your paper in there and trace it. This drawing tablet is easy to use and affordable. The tablet’s X, Y tracking is smooth, fast and precise. It works fantastically for handwriting recognition, basic drawing, and as a mouse replacement.

The pen tip has a very noticeable spring action and deflects a few millimeters into the pen body as pressure is applied. Using the pen control panel, it seems pretty linear and reliable. The battery weight gives it a nice feeling, even if it makes it slightly top heavy.

The VisTablet has pressure sensitivity and many shortcut areas which are mostly configurable. It also has a large 9″ × 12″ area and has a usable area that has the same width and height ratio as a widescreen monitor. The cover can lift off so you can print your own background with images in the shortcut areas, if you so wish, replacing one of the two that come with it.

For the downside, the Multikey program was not allowed to fully install in Vista. Worse yet, there was a flaw in the mapping of the pad. Drawing diagonal lines with a ruler showed that a vertical section of the pad had its sensors stretched sideways, resulting in lines with consistent 1 cm bends. The true active area on this tablet is 9.5″ by 5.5″. The 10×6.25 figure includes the massive ring of buttons around the drawing area, which is not active for drawing, only for hitting those buttons.

The VisTablet graphics tablet is jumpy at times, and the software provided gives you little to no customization.  Then pen itself feels hollow, and requires a battery unlike other brands. While the specifications suggest that the software detects pen tilt, the buttons on the side takes a little while to accept. They seem a little too high on the pen body.

VisTablet 12-Inch Tablet received an average rating of 3.6 out of 5 stars. Few reviewers have seen some flaws on this graphic tablet but the vast majority of its users stated that it performs great for them. It has lots of features without the expensive price tag that some other tablets carry with them.

You can buy this VisTablet 12-Inch Graphics Tablet cheap online through Amazon here. It’s currently on sale for 20% off.

Adesso Cybertablet 12000 Graphics Tablet Reviews

After our extensive research for Adesso Cybertablet 12000, we found 44 online reviews and most of its users were satisfied with this product saying that this product works as advertised. The build quality of the Hyperpen is good. The pen feels a little flimsy, but no worse than a regular pen. Its pen has a double-function “lever style” button and looks like half of a gator clip, and a pressure-sensitive nib. The packaged mouse is extremely useful, because trying to use the pen as a mouse can be nerve-wracking.

The Adesso Cybertablet 12000 uses Wintab32, so the pen works with any application that supports wintab32. This Adesso graphics tablet works well with GIMP 2.2.8 (with GTK 2.6.9) which supports pressure sensitivity, and Corel PhotoPaint 8 (rev. C) which does not.

The tablet displays the entire screen allowing the user to quickly access any button without having to scroll. It’s fast, easy to connect and light weight. If you can’t afford $200 for the medium Wacom, this is the product to go for. Adesso tablet has the same exact features with a super convenient top shelf to personally add all your favorite shortcuts. It is a solid unit overall.

On the downside, when it comes to actually drawing, the pressure sensitivity and the actual use of the pen itself were just downright awkward. Pressure is one thing, it can be adjusted but the pen itself needs to be almost pointing directly down on the tablet in order for it to even see the pen was there. Tilt the pen too far down like a normal person draws and the point of the pen would no longer touch the pad  because it’s so small.

The Adesso Cybertablet 12000 has a USB cable, so it should be plug-and-play. Sometimes the computer drawing pad gets recognized, but the pen takes a while for it to even be able to move the mouse cursor around to do anything with it.

The pen and mouse are wireless, so the graphics tablet picks up their signal when touching. There’s a light that keeps flashing when neither is touching the pad, but when they do the light stays lit. But even with this happening, the pen does not always begin working even if the light is lit. The Adesso pen tablet’s resolution and pressure sensitivity levels are pitiful when it comes to actually drawing.

The Adesso Cybertablet 12000 received an average rating of 3.6 out of 5 stars from its online reviewers. There are some faults though the described features are great. Majority of the reviewers love the product’s good performance. We recommend Cybertablet to individuals who don’t feel like spending much on other expensive tablets like the Wacom.

Wacom Bamboo Fun Graphics Tablet Reviews

Our research for Wacom Bamboo Fun showed 157 online reviews. Satisfied users claimed that the brand means quality.

WacomBambooFunTabletIt just works and works well. The interface is well designed and hardly takes any effort to get up and running. The Bamboo tablet has the largest workspace available from Wacom for this price range.

For those unfamiliar with tablets, the tracking isn’t quite the same as a laptop touchpad where the touching the pad simply moves the pointer from its current position. The Wacom tablet maps 1:1 with the screen so if you touch the upper left of the tablet, the pointer goes to the upper left of the screen.

This means that the smaller the pad, the less space you have to maneuver the pen around in. The size of this Wacom Bamboo tablet is almost equal to most laptop screens which work very well.

Installation is a snap. Download the latest drivers from the Wacom site, plug it into a USB port, and you’re all set. This Wacom pen tablet is thin and light, with a more-than-adequate amount of active space.

The multi touch capability is really nice with graphics programs that support it; being able to pan and zoom with left hand while the right remains mostly dedicated to drawing is great. For reference, the touch sensitive area is 7.5″ x 5.1″ and the pen-active area is a fairly generous 8.5″ x 5.4″. You can configure it for left handed use.

However, few users considered this Wacom Bamboo tablet prone to damage. The USB cable for the graphics tablet is fixed directly into the table. This means that if the cable gets damaged or you somehow drop the tablet while holding on the cable and yank it out, the tablet is done for.

So the durability of the pen tablet is entirely dependent on the durability of the cable. So be careful with it. Beyond zoom, rotate, and scroll, there are several gestures that are promoted in the marketing videos, but do not appear to be supported or at least are not documented.

Wacom Bamboo Fun Tablet impressed most of its users by its overall performance. There are some faults with this product that very few users considered to be inconvenient but they are outweighed by the products overall good performance. Having received a high average rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars in online reviews, we recommend this device as a great buy.
