Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.  Mix baking mix, milk and cheese until soft dough forms; beat vigorously for 30 seconds. Drop dough by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.   • 8 large burrito-size flour tortillas

  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 (3.5 ounce) can green chiles, drained
  • 2 cups shredded cheese, my favorite combo is monterey jack and sharp cheddar
  • Sour cream, salsa, avocados for serving

How to make BBQ Turkey Quesadillas :

Preheat a griddle or skillet on the stovetop to medium heat. In a medium bowl, toss together the turkey, barbecue sauce and green chiles. Spread an equal amount of this mixture on four of the tortillas (or five if you are spreading it thinner and making more quesadillas). Sprinkle the green onions over the top of the mixture and then top with the shredded cheese. Top with a tortilla and place the quesadillas on the griddle or stovetop, cooking for about 2-3 minutes each side until the tortillas are golden brown and crisp and the filling is hot and cheese is melted..

  • 1-1/4 cup soft butter
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 to 3 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 cup finely ground blanched almonds
  • 3-1/2 cups sifted flour
  • Confectioners’ sugar

How to make Almond Snow Cookies Christmas :

  1. Cream shortening, butter and granulated sugar; add eggs and beat until light.
  2. Mix in almond oil and ground almonds.
  3. Add flour to creamed mixture and mix thoroughly. Chill dough.
  4. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 325 F.
  5. Scoop dough into small balls and place on ungreased baking sheets about 2″ apart. Slightly flatten top with a dampened cloth-covered glass.
  6. Bake until set but not brown, about 14-16 minutes.
  7. Sift confectioners’ sugar over cookies as soon as you take them out of the oven. Cool on cookie sheet.
  8. When thoroughly cool, but not cold enough to stick to cookie sheet, remove cookies from cookie sheet and roll in additional confectioners’ sugar.

This chocolate pecan pie recipe works delightfully well with even standard chocolate chips, but do yourself a favor and get some 60-70% Dark Cacao. The larger the cacao content, the better it plays off the whiskey-caramelized pecans. You can also add a dollop of homemade whipped cream to each slice, for an added treat.

Chocolate Pecan Pie Ingredients:

  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 3 ounces dark chocolate (60-70% Cacao)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1.5 tablespoons Jack Daniels
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped pecans (unsalted)
  • 1 frozen 9-inch pie crust

How to make Chocolate Pecan Pie  :

  1. Heat oven to 325F.
  2. In a small saucepan, over low heat, stir butter and chocolate until melted. Allow to cool. Whisk sugar and eggs in bowl, then whisk in chocolate mixture. Add whiskey, vanilla and salt. Finally, stir in pecans.
  3. Spoon filling into pie crust and bake at 325F for approximately 30 minutes. Check to make sure the edges of the crust become puffy and golden, the filling becomes deeply browned and the center firms. Transfer to wire rack to cool.

Easy Christmas Recipe : Roast Turkey

What are you cooking for Christmas dinner?  Get the easy Christmas recipes to try this season. Easy recipes with fully directions to make a wonderful holiday dishes for your family and friends. The celebration of the Christmas holiday has brought people together. Families throughout the world prepare special holiday foods together. December is a busy time in the kitchen, with lots of recipes to enjoy.

Roast Turkey Ingredients :

  •     1 5 -7 kg turkey
  •     1 onion, peeled and halved
  •     1 bunch of sage, thyme and rosemary
  •     25 g butter, softened
  •     1/2 lemon or orange

For the gravy

  •     turkey, giblets and neck
  •     1 carrot, quartered lengthways
  •     1 stick celery
  •     2 onions, peeled and quartered
  •     2 cloves garlic
  •     1 bouquet garni
  •     25 g flour
  •     1 small glass white wine

How to make Roast Turkey :

  1. Remove the turkey from the fridge 2-3 hours before you want to cook it, to allow it to reach room temperature.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180C/gas 4 (if oven is fan assisted, use 160C).
  3. Place the onion and herbs into the body cavity. Squeeze the juice of lemon or orange over the bird and put the fruit into the cavity. Season the cavity with salt and pepper.
  4. Smear the turkey skin with butter and then season with salt and pepper, starting with breast side up. Then flip the turkey and repeat on the underside.
  5. In a large roasting pan, place the turkey ready to roast breast side down. This allows fat to trickle from the back down to the breast to keep it moist.
  6. Roast the turkey upside down for the first 2 hours (or, slightly less for the smaller bird).
  7. Remove the turkey from the oven. Now, turn the turkey right side up for the remaining cooking time (30 – 45 minutes). Protect your hands with thick towel or clean Marigolds. (You can wrap these in plastic bags to keep them clean.) Hold the drumsticks to turn the turkey.
  8. Return turkey to oven for 30 – 45 minutes or until the juices run clear when a skewer is inserted. If the juices are pink, return the turkey to the oven and check again in 10 minutes. You don’t need to overcook the turkey as the internal temperature of the meat will continue to rise as the turkey rests. A dry turkey is often just overcooked!
  9. Remove turkey from the oven. Tent with foil and allow to rest for 30 – 60 minutes so the juices settle into the meat.
  10. Carve the turkey into the pan juices to keep moist. Or use the juices to make gravy.
  11. For the gravy: To make the stock, boil the giblets, neck, vegetables and bouquet garni.
  12. Add enough flour to the roasting pan to absorb the fat and drippings and make a paste. Add a small glass of wine to the pan and make sure to scrape up all the drippings – all the flavour is in the bottom of the pan. Transfer to a saucepan.
  13. Add about 500 ml stock to the saucepan with the bouquet garni and bring to the boil, then simmer until the gravy is reduced. You may need to add more stock if the liquid is too thick.
  14. Season to taste, remove the bouquet garni and serve alongside the turkey in a gravy boat.

  • 1 cup sweetened coconut flakes
  • 1/2 cup pina colada mix
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons spiced rum
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • vegetable oil for deep frying
  • 1/2 pound large shrimp (butterfly the shrimp)

Red Lobster Pina Colada Dipping Sauce

  • 1 cup pina colada mix
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons crushed pineapple (drained)
  • 1 tablespoon sweetened coconut flakes plus
  • 1 teaspoon sweetened coconut flakes
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar plus
  • 1 teaspoon powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 3 teaspoons cold water

How to make Red Lobster Parrot Bay Coconut Shrimp :

  1. Mix bread crumbs, 1/4 cup cornstarch, and coconut in a deep bowl and set aside.
  2. Combine Pina Colada mix, powdered sugar and rum in a small mixing bowl and set aside. Place 1/2 cup corn starch in a separate bowl.
  3. Heat oil for deep frying. Oil is ready for frying shrimp with it reaches 375 degrees F. Coat shrimp first in corn starch, then into the Pina Colada mix, then dust shrimp in bread crumbs, coconut mixture. Second coating place back into Pina Colada mix, then again into coconut, and then the bread crumb mixture.
  4. Place prepared shrimp carefully into hot oil. Fry until golden brown, remove from fryer and drain.
  5. For Red Lobster Pina Colada Dipping Sauce: Mix Pina Colada Mix, water, crushed pineapple, coconut, and powdered sugar in a sauce pan.
  6. Heat on medium low temperature until sauce begins to simmer, stirring frequently. Let mixture simmer slowly 10 – 12 minutes.
  7. Mix corn starch and water together, add to sauce and blend well. Let mixture simmer for 3 – 5 minutes longer while stirring during and after adding cornstarch. Remove from heat and bring to room temperature. Sauce is served at room temperature with Parrot Bay Rum Shrimp.

Applebee’s Fiesta Lime Chicken Ingredients :

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1/2 lime, juiced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon tequila
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 pound boned, skinned chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup real mayonnaise, low fat okay
  • 1/4 cup sour cream, low fat okay
  • 2 tablespoons spicy, chunky salsa
  • 1 tablespoon milk, low fat okay
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun blackening spice
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • 1/8 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 cup shredded colby jack cheese
  • 2 cups corn chips, crumbled

How to make Applebee’s Fiesta Lime Chicken :

  1. Whisk together the first 8 ingredients, coat chicken in mixture, and marinade for at least 2 hours.
  2. Whisk together the next 9 ingredients, cover, and chill until needed.
  3. Grill the marinated chicken breasts for 3-5 minutes per side, or until cooked through. Discard marinade.
  4. Brush grilled chicken with reserved dressing, sprinkle with cheese, and broil until cheese has melted.

Olive Garden Chicken Scampi Ingredients :

-WHITE SAUCE-

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 3/4 cup milk, hot

-SCAMPI SAUCE-

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 1 tablespoon dried cilantro, optional
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • black pepper to taste
  • 3/4 cup white wine
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup white sauce

-REMAINING INGREDIENTS-

  • 1/2 package angel hair pasta, cooked and drained
  • bell peppers, thinly sliced
  • red onions, thinly sliced
  • 10 cloves garlic, roasted
  • 2 chicken breasts, sliced
  • olive oil

How to make Olive Garden Chicken Scampi :

For white sauce: Heat butter in sauce pan, add flour and cook for 2 minutes on med. heat. heat stirring constantly. slowly add hot milk (hot so it won’t get lumpy). Set aside. (Make sure that the white sauce is hot when adding to the scampi sauce)

For scampi sauce: Heat butter over low heat. Add the garlic, Italian seasoning, crushed red pepper and black pepper. Cook for about 2 minutes on low heat. Add the wine and chicken broth. Stir until combined. (I usually cook mine for about 30-40 minutes). Add 1/4 cup white sauce and cook till slightly thickened. In a large skillet, saute chicken in a little olive till nearly done. Add the peppers and onions, saute till chicken is done. Add the sauce. Saute until everything is warmed. Add roasted garlic cloves. Serve over pasta.

ROASTED GARLIC: Separate head of garlic into individual cloves still in ‘paper’. Toss in olive oil and wrap tightly in aluminum foil or a small pint sized dish with a lid. Bake in 350 degrees F oven for 45 minutes. When the garlic has cooled to the touch you should be able to squeeze it out of the ‘paper’ shell of the individual cloves.

  • 6 Orange NERDS from Spooky WONKA NERDS candy bag
  • 1 container prepared vanilla frosting
  • 24 NESTLÉ CRUNCH Fun-Size Candy Bars
  • 1 small tube decorator icing
  • 4 WONKA SweeTARTS Skulls N’ Bones from WONKA Monster MIX UPS assorted candy bag

Preparation :

Mixed with colorful WONKA NERDS and topped with skull and bone-shaped candies from WONKA Monster MIX UPS, these delicious cupcakes make a frightfully fun dessert.

PREPARE cake mix batter according to package directions; add Nerds to batter. Bake according to directions for 24 cupcakes. Cool completely. Frost cupcakes, using a little more frosting than usual on top (“tombstones” will be pushed into frosting). WRITE spooky words such as “RIP” or “BOO” on Crunch bars using decorator icing. Let sit for a few minutes to dry. PRESS Crunch bars into cupcakes to create “tombstones.” Creatively place Skulls N’ Bones next to “tombstones.”

DEVILED HAM SPREAD

Those who do not want to use ham can substitute smoked chicken or smoked turkey. Can be prepared in 45 minutes or less.

Ingredients :

  • 1 1/2 cups minced cooked ham (about 6 ounces)
  • 1/4 small habanero chili, or to taste, seeded and minced (wear rubber gloves)
  • Worcestershire sauce to taste
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons mayonnaise

Accompaniment: celery boats and/or toast points

Preparation :
In a bowl stir together ham, chili, Worcestershire sauce, just enough mayonnaise to bind ingredients, and salt and pepper to taste. Chill ham spread, covered, overnight. Serve spread with accompaniments.

VAMPIRE PUNCH

Ingredients :

  • 8 cups cranberry juice
  • 6 cups sparkling apple cider
  • 6 orange slices

Preparation :
Put all ingredients in a punch bowl. Add ice cubes just before serving. Makes 14 cups

BLOODY DEVIL DOGS

Ingredients :

  • Hot Dogs
  • Hot Dog Rolls
  • Ketchup

Preparation :
Cook hot dogs as you would normally, on the stove or grill. Take the buns and, with CLEAN scissors or a knife, cut out little triangle on the top part facing out. When done, the bun will look like a mouth with the upper teeth showing. Place hot dogs inside the bun, then put on ketchup
