Flash Drive Speed Test

We’ve been asked a few times about the quality of our free flash drives, so we thought we should do a flash drive speed test to give you a benchmark of the MyFreeFlashDrive.com quality.

Material:  The case is made of aluminum with a plastic cap.  A red LED at the tail of the drive lights up during read/write so you know when it’s working.  The logo is laser etched onto the aluminum case.

Flash memory:  The 4GB and 8GB use branded Intel memory.  The 2GB drive uses Hynix branded memory.

Free Flash Drive Speed Test

The read/write file benchmark speed test was established using Crystal Disk Mark 3.0 on the 4GB MyFreeFlashDrive.com USB 2.0 free flash drive.

On average, the myfreeflashdrive.com read/write speed was a little less than 18MB a second read and 6.5MB a second write speed.

For a comparison, we have looked at the latest Kingston speed averages published on their website. The Kingston DataTraveler Generation 3 (G3) read/write speeds are 10MB read/ 5MB write which is significantly slower in reading from the flash drive and just a little bit slower writing to the flash drive.
