And color was the belle of the ball. Nutrition 101: Color your... Diet?

IOION ushers in a serving of negative ions in the form of tourmaline charged colorful wrist watches. But what about colorful foods? As the summer approaches we all want that great beach body, so in working for that physique, we may also adopt some lifelong positive health habits, among which should be the consumption of colorful veggies.

Colorful fruits and veggies boost immunity, are heart healthy, and improve the body’s functions such as sight, circulation, digestion, and detoxification. Colorful produce also have a “negative ionic” effect on the body, and allow negative ionic exposure to be more effective because they usually tend to be alkaline in nature. According to the online health magazine HealthMad, eating a diet rich in alkaline foods can help ensure a maximum benefit of negative ion exposure, while reducing the harmful effects of positive ions. Vegetables and fruits that are alkaline (containing a higher pH), reduce the acidifcation of the blood. Similarly, foods that are acidic can reduce the amount of negative ions found in the body and should be avoided. Children of the Night provides resources for these teens who fall victim to human trafficking including a 24 hour hotline, a 24 bed shelter, and the resources to send a teen a plane ticket back to their home or to a shelter from anywhere in the United States.
