Summary: Tummy Tuck For Men
This is my personal story of having Tummy Tuck plastic surgery (abdominoplasty) with lateral thigh lift, including before & after pictures and a daily log of my pre-operation, day-of-surgery and post-operation recovery experiences. If you are a man looking to get a Tummy Tuck operation, this is what you may be in for.
I am 9 weeks post tummy tuck and breast reduction surgery. I'm
looking and feeling much better but still have a lot of swelling
and major internal muscle pain in the middle of my stomach. Is this
normal? The muscles also become very fatigued after a normal day of
activity. Please tell me if this is normal, how much longer it will
last and has anyone else had the same issues.

DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS (BLOOD CLOT) UPDATE: 01/05/2011 Hello Tanner,
Thanks for your reply. I am far from recovered. 2 weeks after my
tummy tuck I developed a swollen left ankle. An ultrasound up to my
knee showed nothing. 2 days later my whole left leg was badly
swollen und reddish and burning. In the emergency room they found
massive blood clots from my groin down the whole leg. In order to
protect my lungs from embolism, a Bard Eclipse Filter was placed.
Another surgeon placed two stents in different critical places and
tried to take out the biggest blood clot. A large piece broke off
and shot straight up into the filter. I was in Intensive Care for 2
days. Heparin and Coumadin treatment was started...

Today I noticed some small seedy-like substance in my drainage
tube, like possible puss, which concerns me for infection from my
tummy tuck. I'm taking my antibiotics faithfully...my pain is
minimal...do you think this is normal or infection?

I am dreaming of having a Tummy Tuck since my abdomen looks as that
of a pregnant women. After having two children, my perfect slim
tummy became that of an 8 months pregnant lady. I haven't had sex
for nearly a year. This is taking all my confidence away. I feel
really embarrassed of having sex. I have a beautiful body except my
tummy, a side 12 on a side 18 waste. I would like to know what are
the risks of dying during Tummy Tuck. I am particularly scared of
Aorta been accidentally burst during surgery. Can you please tell
me what are death rates and risks? Thanks.

The following question from our tummy tuck forum is from a woman
who was wondering if tummy tuck surgical drains hurt, how long the
drains have to stay in and how difficult it was to go to the
bathroom with the surgical drains.
Hello: It's been 2 months since my abdominalplasty with lipo.
When I wake up in the morning my stomach is flat but throughout
the day every time I eat my stomach blows up. Is this normal? I
feel like I look pregnant all over again. I know I still have a
little swelling but I didn't think this would happen with a bowl
of oatmeal. I hope nothing's wrong. Please advise. Rika

drains stay inside you? Do you have to get cut again to get the
