New Audi R4 model in pipline for Car Leasing customers

No – its not a pimped out Audi TT its actually a Mini version of the R8 which is rumoured to be the all new R4 model. This two seater model will then sit in the line up between the TT and the R8 and open up another new sports car market for Audi to enter. Dont get too excited yet though as its unlikely to become reality for at least three years yet and so this Etron inspired model will be more than likely doing the rounds as a concept car at next years big motor shows. A similar form of engine as used in the RS3 will be installed and this 2.5 litre 5 cylinder turbo will be tuned up to around 400bhp but the best news is that it will also feature a hybrid motor too. Quattro 4 wheel drive will be implemented as per all R models but the Hybrid drive system will power the front wheel alone and there will be no actual mechanical link between the two. All Audi need decide really is which platform to build the new Audi R4 on as partner groups Porsche and VW have had similar motors in the past such as the Q7, Cayenne and Touareg. Watch out Porsche though as the 9-11 will be under threat once this motor becomes built.

New Mercedes Benz S Class to get full Hybrid technology?

Mercedes Benz haven’t ruled out a fully electric model of the next generation S class edition but the companies Technical Boss says that its down to demand that will decide it. The forthcoming model will have a Hybrid set up in both a Plug-in Hybrid and normal Hybrid options. At the centre of the Mercedes S Class will be the new V6 and V8 MoVe Petrol engines with the diesel variant taken care of with the 2.2 litre four cylinder engine as found in the current S250CDI. Buyers can expect a complete new cabin install with nothing being brought from the outgoing model with a similar theme to that showcased in the F800 Style Concept and the Geneva motor show in March.

Hold on to your hats – the news just in is that the Black edition of the Mercedes C Class has been spotted in Winter testing and looks ready to be showcased very very soon. Appearing in the four door saloon format for the very first time the C63 AMG Black Series will be fitted with an adjusted 6.2 litre AMG V8 that has 520 bhp. Expect to see this newcomer at the Frankfurt motor show and it should see Mercedes leap frog rivals Audi and BMW in the performance stakes with similar models such as the Audi S range and new M5 offering also set to be released at similar times. The usual AMG trimmings to be expected are the modified wheel arches, two twin exhaust pipes and other special goodies.The C Class Black will be only the 4th Mercedes model to wear the badge as previous versions have been limited to only the SLK, CLK and SL which all had fixed roofs in place as opposed to folding metal variety found on the standard versions.

Mercedes views China as biggest purchaser of cars by 2015

With modern productions cars typically designed for the markets that they are intended to be used in the latest news from Mercedes may indicate the general direction that the next generation designs may follow. The announcement that Mercedes Benz expects China to become the country with the biggest Merc market by 2015 certainly should raise a few eyebrows as to what we can expect.
