The Wiley CPA review course is among the most well known systems
used by people wanting to pass the CPA exam. It has been updated
regularly for 3 decades and is available in a two-volume and
four-volume format.
The two volume edition groups strategies, tips and study outlines
in the first volume while the sample questions are available in the
second volume. It is released each June which makes sure the
questions and information is current.
The four-volume format resembles the same layout as the exam. Each
volume covers one of the four sections, that is, FAR, AUD, BEC or
REG. It allows you to select the sections for which you are
sitting. This format is quite convenient because you can go through
one volume at a time as you are studying for each individual
section. It includes Focus Notes with questions which help you
understand key concepts in each section. You can purchase the notes
as a complete set or for a single section. These notes are
extensively developed and provide shrewd answers to relevant
questions on various accounting topics. They are portable and well
packaged in a spiral bound, flash-card format.
Audio CDs are another study material the Wiley system uses. The
lessons are delivered in a transparent, concise and appealing
manner.
To sharpen your exam-writing skills, there is the How to Master
Simulations series that concentrates on mock questions and the best
way to handle them. The Mastering Account Research program included
by Wiley makes a huge difference as it enables you to hone your
research skills. It prevents time wasting and other issues relevant
to research without causing distraction from the essential
material. There are many decent reviews for the Wiley products
which is encouraging to help you prepare for the CPA exam. Each of
the tips and guidelines are basic, appropriate, current and
practical. However, Wiley's materials will require plenty of
studying in order to take full advantage of the opportunity for
success.
