’”Does MIE Likes have any good father’s day ideas for husbands or dads?”

Here are just a couple of ideas. I know not everyone has the same interests. But, who could pass up a family drawing or photo album? A cold hearted dad, that’s who.

1. A drawing of his kiddos. He could hang this in his office or around the house. The image attached is my friend’s daughter, Presley, which hangs in their home.

2. A signature photo book. How often do you develop the photos on your phone or camera? This is a great way to capture your family’s life in the past year or so.

3. Same with Tiny Polaroid magnets.

4. Affordable artwork.

5. Golf lessons.

After spin class on Monday I began cooking a recipe by Barefoot Contessa called Pastitsio. Ina referred to it as a Greek lasagna on her cooking show last week. I didn’t realize until it was too late that this dish takes around 2 hours to prep and cook. It was well worth it. Delicious. I even skipped my daily ice cream intake for seconds. I served it with fresh okra sautéed in olive oil, salt and pepper.

I’ve never been more excited for leftovers.

A couple weeks ago Goop sent out a newsletter showing how to make flower arrangements with vases you already own. I have a cube vase, I was just waiting for my hydrangeas to bloom. This arrangement took less than three minutes. B(l)oom!

“Hydrangeas are a great flower to use in a cube vase. They’re big and bushy and this contrasts well with an angular and squat vase like the cube. The trick here is to trim the leaves off the hydrangea stem and save them for the vase. Fill the cube with water and then push the hydrangea leaves against all sides of the glass. Create a bouquet of hydrangeas, and tie it with twine. Cut the stems so that the blooms will sit right on the lip of the vase and you’re done.”
