This year's AMA Motocross Banquet & Season Celebration was held in a magnificent banquet room at the Pala Resort & Casino. The room was decorated beautifully, lined with motocross décor, as well as a stage decorated with the championship bikes and awards. The line-up of food, appetizers, desserts, and beverages was very elegant and delicious.
After dinner, the awards ceremony began. Jason Weigandt, along with Tim Cotter hosted the show. And of course Jason started it just like he does many of his shows - after slamming down an energy drink.
Jason went on to talk about each round of this summer's AMA Motocross Nationals, with a list of funny jokes pertaining to all the good and bad situations at each of the races. After that, the awards and trophies were handed out.
The night was filled with special memories, good times, and laughs. One poignant moment was when Kevin Windham accepted the award for 'Sportsperson of the Year'. Kevin always has a great way of expressing himself, but made a great comment towards his friend & the team manager, Mike LaRocco. He commented on Mike's motivation, that pushed Kevin to work hard and do his best ... it was touching, but at the same time very funny.

As the West Region ends for a while, and East region gets ready to start up ... In 250 West Supercross 2010, Jake Weimer and Trey Canard are showing a lot of confidence right now. I'm very impressed with both of these racers right now. This past race at Anaheim was a good example for both of them.
Series points leader Jake Weimer has a great heat race with a win, even after that heat was red-flagged. Jake had some trouble in the Main Event, but showed his smarts by charging hard the full 15 laps, coming up to eighth at the finish ... that could literally save his season and potentially the championship title.
Trey had some problems in his heat, but came back very strong in the final - he won the 250 Main in Anaheim. That shows a lot of maturity from him as a rider.

Yamaha Motor Corporation U.S. is pleased to announce its entire line-up of teams ready to battle for the 2011 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship.
Headlining the assault is James Stewart. Signed to a two-year contract with L & M Racing, James is looking forward to winning his second title for Yamaha on his YZ450F. He's currently in lock down in Florida putting the finishing touches on his race prep and testing so he can come out with both barrels blazing at Anaheim 1.
Joining Stewart on Team L & M is Texas phenom Kyle Regal. Always a threat to podium outdoors, Regal has spent the last few months honing his Supercross skills turning lap after lap around the Yamaha Supercross test track.

The 2011 Supercross season is still 10 days from the opening race in Anaheim, but it claimed it's first victim today. The 2010 West Supercross Lites Champion, Jake Weimer, broke his arm while practicing for the opener. He will undergo surgery later today to repair the break. No timetable has been established for his return and discussions on a replacement rider have yet to be held. Stay tuned to Supercross.com for the latest information on Weimer's injury and all other Supercross news.
