Summary: Cityville-Now
Cityville-Now is your CityVille home for reviews, walk-throughs, previews, trailers, and news.
When CityVille guides began popping up I was pretty skeptical
about the whole thing. I had never actually played the game myself
but I figured that there couldn't be all that much to it. How much
strategy could really go into building a virtual city? When I saw
all the hype about CityVille and the fact that there were these
guides I figured there must be something to CityVille after
all.
CityVille turned out to be much more complex and enjoyable than I
had figured it would be. There are so many options, buildings,
crops, businesses and additions that you have so many decisions to
make. The more I got into playing CityVille the more I realized
that the strategies involved were much more complex than I had
expected. I did not want to spend all my time using trial and error
to get the best possible city. I wanted someone to do all that for
me so I went out and bought a guide.
The guide I ended up buying is called CityVille Secrets. I had
heard some good things about it and it seemed like the most logical
choice. CityVille Secrets is relatively new and they update it
constantly so it contains the latest additions to the game and will
add new updates as CityVille adds new features. I wasn't expecting
too much from this guide as I have bought game guides in the past
the have just been average. CityVille Secrets however, completely
blew me away! I had no idea how they could have so much detailed
information, secrets and strategies when CityVille is still
new.

As soon as I began implementing the CityVille secrets, tips, and
strategies I went from a level 13 to a level 35 in only a week of
relatively little gameplay. There is a lot more going on in
CityVille than meets the eye and if you don't do things properly
you could be missing out on countless coins and experience while
playing more than you need too. If you are interested in getting
the most out of your CityVille experience then I recommend picking
up a copy of CityVille Secrets today.

Yesterday I was contacted by a guy
called James Green, who less than a week since the release of
Cityville already has one of the biggest and most impressive cities
on Facebook. He told me he has just released the FIRST EVER
CITYVILLE GUIDE (pictured left) to come out, and I was asked if I
could join the site and write an honest review. I was so glad to
see someone was already writing a guide for this game and of course
I was glad to take a look at it.
This is not a free guide, but I have to say that this is an
extremely impressive product and I’m amazed at some of the
strategies this guy has already come up with. Some of the things in
here are actually downright
crazy. I’ve been playing
Cityville obsessively the last few days, and found it difficult to
level up without buying cash and coins (and who wants to do that?)
… but by following this guide you could actually get a big city
fast and never have to buy currency.
There are two guides you get, which are not explained on the
homepage right now: the first is a tips, ticks and strategies
guide, which has some things that very few people know about, but
are also deadly effective. I think you might actually be in shock
after you read this. The bulk of the product, however, is a
step-by-step walkthrough of how James has built his huge city
starting from the very first level. There are tons of screenshots
and you can follow this and build up something really impressive
without even having to think for yourself.
So far a couple of sites like Games.com and Gamezebo.com have
released some useful beginner walkthrough’s on the basics of how to
play Cityville (things like goods, franchises,
adding neighbors, businesses etc.), but they are NOTHING like
what this guide covers.
James has cheekily named his product “the best Cityville
guide online”, which given the absence of competition is
certainly the case now. He has made it a membership site and
promises constant updates and new strategies, and given how he has
released so much good info already I believe him on this. The cost
is a one time cost of $27 and for anyone serious about building a
massive city this is just a no-brainer.
PS: If you pick this up, I’d love to know what you think.

Answer: nowhere!

at this point I am not even sure that Cityville will come out.
About a week ago games.com found that Zynga had a “cityville”
forum, but it was soon taken down. Zynga has also done research
on whether people want to see a city based game. Given the titles
of their previous games (Farmville, Frontierville etc) it seems
likely that if Zynga does release a game where you manage a city,
then it will be called “Cityville”.
If the game does come out, then I plan to start playing it, just
like I’ve played all Zynga facebook games. I may even write a
Cityville guide. But at this point I doubt the game even will
come out.

It was 10 days ago since there was a rumor that Zynga would be
releasing a new game called Cityville, based on the fact that
they had a subforum on their site called Cityville that was
promptly deleted. However at this point I have to assume that
this game is never going to come out. We have not heard an
official statement from Zynga or anyone else.
So who knows what Zynga’s next game is going to be, but I don’t
think it’s going to be Cityville.

Just heard some excellent news from Inside Social Games, who have
just reported that
Cityville will probably come out later this
month. I was surprised to see this. After hearing nothing from
Zynga after that rumor developed that they were developing this
game (based on a “cityville” forum that was quickly deleted), I
figured that it was just a mistake and they weren’t developing it.
I assumed that if they were developing the game they would have
made it public from the beginning. Instead, they have only just
revealed the new game now, when it is very close to being
released.
I have high hopes for this game and expect it to do well. While I
have not been able to play the demo, judging from some of the
screenshots and the descriptions I have read so far, it looks like
this is Zynga’s deepest game yet and the graphics are pretty
impressive (take a look at this screenshot):
The market has shown that city building games in Facebook are quite
popular, and Cityville will now become a direct competitor to other
already established titles like Social City. I guess Cityville was
also the natural progression for Zynga after having already made a
Farmville and Frontierville.
Inside Social Games has described some of the game mechanics for
us. You start off with a small city, and have the options of
constructing a variety of buildings (houses, businesses, farm plots
etc). You make your money off businesses and are able to produce
goods through specialty buildings or outside shipments on trains or
ships. In addition, there are trade opportunities, the ability to
visit friends, decorations and the implementation of quests.
Zynga have also translated the game into Spanish, French, Italian
and German, which allows it to reach millions more people. Will
this be the game that finally beats Farmville as the most popular
Facebook game ever? Time will tell.

When Cityville was officially announced last week, Zynga said that
they hoped to have the game out by “the end of the month”. We have
not heard anything since then. I rather doubt they will
release the game during thanksgiving (although I could be wrong),
so we may be looking at a release date somewhere in the first week
of December. I hope it’s no longer than that. Judging from the
gameplay video we posted earlier, it looks like the game is pretty
close to being finished, so I hope it gets released ASAP.

It looks like Zynga is never going to release a game called
Cityville, which is a pity. It is therefore highly likely that
there will be no Cityville guide or walkthrough available.
