Thule K-summit tyre chains
There is quite a large selection of accessories out there to help
us get through the winter months safely and securely and keeping us
moving when our weather turns against us. I like the
Thule K-summit range for its innovation and ease
of use.
For some of us it may be a way of life every winter, for others it
can just be an occasional nuisance but no less a risk to life and
limb as a result. In some cases the rarer the bad weather is then
the more of a short term problem it can be. In many areas it is
simply not economically practical to maintain a big fleet of
ploughs and gritters to keep roads open when there may be only a
few days of snow in any one year.
Specialist winter tires are the obvious solution if snow and ice is
guaranteed but if it is more occasional then snow chains may be a
better solution. These are not always as easy to fit as we would
like however, particularly with cold fingers when fiddly links may
be particularly stubborn. However if a journey involves treated and
non treated surfaces then an ability to remove and refit easily is
essential if damage to the tire or road surface is to be
avoided.
This is where I believe that the
Thule K
Summit system is a winner.
1) A range that accommodates almost any tire, from low profile high
performance to SUV
2) 0 mm behind the tire so no danger of fouling components
3) Quick efficient fitting and removal with no fiddly links and a
single action tensioner which makes the chain self adjusting.
4) Strong, high quality components for long lasting durability.
5) Pack away into a handy carrying bag for convenience when not in
use.
I am very impressed by all the Thule range, but particularly the
Thule K-summit snow chains. They are readily available at major
motor stores or online at many outlets.
