Polar FT60 Women’s Heart Rate Monitor Watch (Purple)
Size: M-XXL strap – Product Review:
The smartest way to better fitness, the Polar FT60 women’s heart
rate monitor watch helps you stay motivated and improve your
conditioning. The FT60 works by first checking your daily
condition, and then guiding you to the ideal training intensity
for your age and fitness level. Knowing your heart rate not only
helps you reach your personal fitness goal, but also improves
your physical condition in general, as it’s vitally important to
train at the appropriate intensity level. If you exercise too
hard, you may quit before you reach the real benefit, but if you
work out too leisurely, you’ll struggle to lose weight at all.
The FT60 helps overcome these problems by encouraging you to map
out a complete fitness routine.
The FT60 is packed with innovative training features to help you toward your exercise goals. First off, the watch includes a Polar Star personalized training program that adapts to your workout habits. By giving you weekly training targets and providing constant feedback, the watch guides you without being too strict, helping you reach your goals more efficiently. The watch also displays heart rate info in several ways, including as a percentage of your maximum heart rate, as beats per minute, and within a graphical target zone indicator. And should your heart rate exceed or dip below your target zone, the FT60 will sound an alarm that helps you return to form.
Users will also love the variety of proprietary Polar functions, including ZonePointer, Polar OwnZone, and Polar OwnCal modes. The ZonePointer is an audible and visual feature on the display of your FT60 that shows you where your current heart rate sits within your target heart rate zone. The Polar OwnZone mode, meanwhile, provides a customized target zone for individual exercise sessions. Finally, the Polar OwnCal mode shows your energy expenditure during one exercise session, as well as your accumulated kilocalories during several exercise sessions. You can also set daily and weekly exercise goals in terms of calorie expenditure, helping you achieve both short-term and long-term goals.
Other features include support for the G1 GPS sensor (sold separately); a built-in fitness test that measures your aerobic fitness at rest in just five minutes; a ZoneLock mode that lets you activate a target zone in the midst of training with the press of a button; an OwnCode mode that prevents crosstalk from other heart rate monitors nearby; a recording mode that tracks your average and maximum heart rate, calorie expenditure, distance, and total exercise time, and then puts it in an exercise file (with 100 total files); water resistance to 30 meters; a 12/24-hour clock with a day/week indicator; a built-in backlight; an alarm with a snooze; a low battery indicator; and a Polar FlowLink connection for transferring data between the FT60 and a computer. Sporting an attractive purple housing, the watch carries a two-year warranty.
Manufacturer’s Warranty
The original purchaser of this heart rate monitor is backed by a
limited warranty that states that this product that the product
will be free from defects in material or workmanship for two
years from the date of purchase.
About Polar
The first EKG accurate wireless heart rate monitor was invented
by Polar back in 1977 as a training tool for the Finnish National
Cross Country Ski Team. The concept of “intensity training” by
heart rate swept the athletic world in the eighties. By the
1990s, individuals were looking to heart rate monitors not only
for performance training needs, but also for achieving everyday
fitness goals. Today, the same concept of heart rate training is
being used by world-class athletes as well as everyday people
trying to lose weight. Polar is the leading brand among
consumers, coaches, and personal trainers worldwide and the
company is committed to not only producing the best products, but
also being the leading educator on the benefits of heart rate
based exercise.

Perhaps it wasn’t the wisest choice to release the trailer for the eagerly anticipated film adaptation of One Day, out July 8, on the same day as the Royal Wedding, considering we’re all pretty much on romantic British people overload at this point. Nevertheless, the preview for the swoon-worthy dramedy, based on David Nicholls wonderful best-selling novel, hit the Web and it’s complete with a decades-spanning tale about heartache, friendships, weddings, babies, British accents, and bad 90′s haircuts. Just like the book, the movie will catch up on the same day every year (July 15 in the novel) with the will-they-or-won’t-they relationship between friends Emma (Anne Hathaway) and Dexter (Jim Sturgess). Good luck trying not to get choked up!

Helene Stapinski’s best selling memoir Five Finger Discount: A Crooked Family History has been optioned to become a feature documentary by producer Charles Hobson’s Vanguard Documentaries. The company plans to pitch the project to TV broadcast networks.
Stapinski’s book recounts the criminal history of her Jersey City-based family starting roughly 40 years ago, including the grandfather who tried to kill her immediate family when she was five years old, her cousin who was arrested on 57 counts of burglary, and the aunt who became involved with the notoriously crooked local government.
“For many years, I have ogled this wonderful story,” Hobson said in a statement. “It will really snap, crackle, and pop when brought to a new life as a brutally visual film.” The doc will also cover the corruption permeating Jersey City itself, beginning with its infamous 30-year mayor Frank Hague.

Four weeks ago, Entertainment Weekly spoke with Arnold Schwarzenegger in an exclusive cover story about his return to the world of showbiz after his two terms as governor of California. In the midst of that conversation, we asked him what his next project was likely to be — other than The Governator, the animated series he is making with famed comic book guru Stan Lee. His answer: Cry Macho, a project that has since cropped up today in another report touting the film as indeed his next project, with Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer) reportedly attached to direct. Here’s what Schwarzenegger had to say about Cry Macho in EW’s April 8 cover story:
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Has there been anything you’ve read
recently, any script, that you’ve really liked? Aside from The
Governator, what’s the next thing we’re likely to see Arnold
Schwarzenegger in?
ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER: You will be amazed, but I am going to
answer your question. Cry Macho. It’s a little movie that got my
attention because it is so opposite of what you’d expect someone
like me to do. It’s about a guy who is a horse trainer. He’s a
little bit over-the-hill. The last two years didn’t go so well.
But then the owner of the horses gives him a challenge. He sends
him to Mexico to get his son. The owner’s wife cheated him out of
a business and took their son, and the owner wants to pay her
back, so he sends the trainer to get his kid.

S. Victor Whitmill, the award-winning tattoo artist who gave Mike Tyson his well-known facial ink, filed a lawsuit in federal court in Missouri on Thursday seeking an injunction against Warner Bros. that would stop the studio from releasing ‘The Hangover Part 2.’
“When Mr. Whitmill created the Original Tattoo, Mr. Tyson agreed that Mr. Whitmill would own the artwork and thus, the copyright in the Original Tattoo,” the court papers read (via The Hollywood Reporter). “Warner Bros. Entertainment, Inc. – without attempting to contact Mr. Whitmill, obtain his permission, or credit his creation – has copied Mr. Whitmill’s Original Tattoo and placed it on the face of another actor … This unauthorized exploitation of the Original Tattoo constitutes copyright infringement.”
In ‘The Hangover Part 2,’ the character played by Ed Helms wakes up after a long night of partying with a facial tattoo similar to Tyson’s. THR notes that it will be difficult for Warner Bros. to argue that the tats are “coincidentally similar” because Tyson was featured in the first ‘Hangover’ film and the ink sported by Helms in the second movie seems to be a “direct comedic reference to Tyson.”

Their hard partying, Jack Daniels-swigging antics have been well documented in the press, but ‘Talihina Sky: The Story of Kings of Leon’ gives us a side of the band we have never seen before. Their story is a unique one: three brothers — Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill — team up with their cousin Matthew Followill to form one of the biggest modern day rock bands in the world. But their path to stardom deviates far from the strict religious upbringing their father imposed upon them as children when he uprooted the family time and again to work as a traveling preacher.
It’s a story that plays out here on film without sparing its audience a moment of the vomit- and alcohol-soaked, pants-down, cussing and fighting details. Stephen C. Mitchell, a close friend of the band, depicts their rise and the consequences of their surging success through home videos and captures a level of intimacy that can only come from the eyes of a friend. Check out Spinner’s interview with the director here.
Beyond telling their story, the film gives both fans, and even those who love to hate the Kings of Leon, a look at the four men behind the swashbuckling personas that is raw, emotional and, at times, cringe-worthy in its honesty.
