SUVs and pickups, have become a red-hot American political issue. The Auto industry bailout by the U.S. government spearheaded the need for Americans to take a stand on our beloved favorites. Why? There are millions of us, both conservatives and liberals, who drive these. It was the government auto industry bailout that allowed Obama the chance to force this issue.

Although Obama repeatedly said he does not want to have the government running the auto industry, this is exactly what he is doing. He is getting into micromanaging GMC by such actions as the government guaranteeing GMC's service contracts. He is also forcing Chrysler, an American company, to join with Fiat, a foreign company, again a first in American history: This is the beginning of Obama's Takeover of auto industry.

Vice President, Joe Biden has said that those Americans who are wealthy should pay a larger share of income taxes than they are now. It's the patriotic thing to do. I ask why? Right now, about 40% of Americans pay no income tax at all, while 5% pay the majority of taxes, something like 90%.

Socialism has not and cannot work. To expect people to divide their wealth with the poor who cannot or will not work goes against human nature and democratic ideals. Going further in the same article, "...NO COUNTRY HAS FULLY INSTITUTED DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISM." There are reasons why; DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISM DOESN'T WORK.

With centralized medical records, the government will learn all sorts of private details about EVERY American citizen. This would include records on such things as birth control, health problems that might keep someone from getting a job, expensive procedures that are only the concern of the patient and doctor, and Eldercare.

The Economic Stimulus Bill is the primary conservative issue right now. Much of it is aimed at getting the government involved in as many aspects of our lives as it can. The massive spending aside, the bill is much more than creeping socialism in America; it is a socialistic freight train out of control speeding toward the border between Capitalism and Socialism.

Obama and other Democrats are trying their best to sell this bill to the public. On February 2nd, Obama said that this will be a good solid bill with no earmarks attached. Duh! No one needs to attach any earmarks. That's what the majority of the bill is --- earmarks. Read more to see my view on the 2009 stimulus package.

Even though President Obama is giving a lot of lip service to including Republicans in planning what to include in the $850 thousand plus stimulus package, it is obvious that his mind is already made up and he has his package already planned. Bipartisan political policies cannot exist with a Democratic President and Congress!

In spite of excoriating criticism from a liberal press and liberal politicians, Bush stayed true to his goal of a safe America, and succeeded. He did so with the help of Congress passing several anti-terrorist laws. Most of these laws have been upheld by the United States Court Systems, often going clear to the Supreme Court. There is good evidence that without these laws, America would have been attacked numerous times in the last seven years. But all of these attacks were discovered prior to the attack date, and thwarted.

The state of our economy is on everyone's minds these days with many comparing it to the Great Depression of the 1930s. But does it really compare? Is the economy really in that bad of a state? Read more here for a historical perspective and a conservative view.
