(More customer reviews)I've been seeing
ads for the Movado museum watch since the 80s and thought it always
looked beautiful although I'd never seen it in person. I finally
bought this one online. It turned out to be quite a disappointment.
It's a nice looking watch but it's cheaply made. It feels flimsy
when you hold it in your hand, the leather strap is too short and I
have to keep mine on the largest opening, and the buckle broke
immediately the very first time I put the watch on. I would not buy
again...
BTW, I now see that this watch is listed for $450 on Amazon?!?!?! I
paid somehwere between $150 and $180 from Amazon in early 2007. At
that price it was an OK watch. At $450, this watch is a total rip
off -- defiantely not worth that!!!

(More customer reviews)Overall I'm very
pleased with it. I've banged it a few times against various
materials like metal, wood, and glass and have yet to put a single
mark on it. One word of warning though, the band is very easy to
scratch and will crease permenantly where it's clasped within a few
days of wear though it's only visable when the watch is
removed.

watch with a classic look and feel. Not as big as most of the
seamaster line, it looks great against a good suit or tux. Even
though it is smaller it has a more refined feel than a Tag, Edox,

Omega Men's 2503.52.00 Seamaster Aqua Terra
Railmaster Automatic Watch
Product Description:
Set sail with confidence and style to points unknown with this
classic Omega Aqua Terra stainless steel men's automatic
chronometer watch, part of Omega's Seamaster line. This highly
accurate timepiece is as comfortable negotiating deals in the
boardroom as it is navigating the breaking seas. Definitively
masculine in design, it features a mid-sized, round silver
stainless steel watch case with a rhodium-plated finish that blends
brushed and polished surfaces and measures 38mm (1.50 inches)
wide.
It features a slightly raised, highly polished bezel that frames a
black dial background with Dauphine hands, a mix of silver tone
triangular dial markers and Arabic numerals (at the quarter hours),
and small minute indexes. Other features include a
scratch-resistant and glare-proofed domed sapphire crystal, and
water resistance to 150 meters (500 feet). It's completed by a
silver stainless steel link bracelet band that offers polished
highlights, which is joined by a deployment-clasp-with-push-button
clasp.
Originally created in the 1750s, the first chronometers were clocks
that were accurateenough to calculate the longitude of a ship's
position. Today, the chronometer label is bestowed upon timepieces
that have undergone precision tests and received a certificate from
the official COSC (Control Officile Suisse de Chronometers)
regulatory organization that rigorously tests and certifies (or
fails) watch movements for chronometer status.
Automatic Watch Movement
An automatic watch is self-winding, and its movement has a reserve
that must be at least partially filled prior to being worn. This is
done by shaking and winding the timepiece manually. In order for an
automatic timepiece to keep a reserve, it must be worn daily for 8
hours of active wear. This watch as a 44-hour power reserve.
The Omega Story
The Omega watch story begins in 1848, when founder Louis Brandt
began hand assembling key-wound precision pocket watches from parts
supplied by local craftsmen in his principality La Chaux-de-Fonds,
in the northwest corner of Switzerland. However, the Omega name
didn't appear until 1894, after Louis Brandt had passed away and
his watchmaking traditions were taken over by his sons, Louis-Paul
and Cesar Brandt. Omega watches have long been associated with
glamorous screen and sports stars--the Omega Seamaster is famous
for being the watch of choice for James Bond--with current
ambassadors including Pierce Brosnan, Nicole Kidman, tennis player
Anna Kournikova, and swimmers Michael Phelps and Ian Thorpe.
But Omega is more than just a fashionable watch. In 1965, the Omega
Speedmaster chronograph was "flight-qualified by NASA for all
manned space missions" as the only wristwatch to have withstood all
of the U.S. space agency's severe tests, including passing grades
for extreme shocks, vibrations, and temperatures ranging from -18
to +93 degrees Celsius. The greatest moment in the Speedmaster's
history was undoubtedly 20 July 1969 at 02:56 GMT, when it recorded
man's first steps on the Moon's surface as part of the Apollo 11
mission. Today, Omega is known for its rigorous testing of new
movements, cases, and bands. Each new Omega movement is tested on
the wrist in existing Omega models, while various laboratory tests
are conducted to determine temperature-resistance, shock-resistance
and vibration-resistance.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this
watch as a reward to myself. I was impressed by a few things, the
value, the quality of workmanship and the overall stunning
appearance.
First off, you have to love the price, I looked at a few higher end
watches in an Authorized Dealer store, and not a single watch
(including this Omega was under ($2500). I purchased this Omega,
the 2253.80 for just under $1600 with express shipping. You can buy
the Quartz version (Omega 2265.80 I believe) for only $1300, I
think it is better to buy this higher quality self winding version.
It is small difference in price, and I think in the long run is a
wise decision. Should the day come when you want or need to sell
it, self winding/automatic watches have a much higher resale value
than Quartz. I see this watch as more of a wearable investment
rather than a watch, sort of like fine art. You can buy a decent
cheapo watch for $100 or 200 but you just won't get a lifetime or
more of use.
The workmanship on this watch is great, everything is topnotch. The
crown is designed well, the band is nice, not cheap looking, and
the hands are easy to read, unlike some of the more modern designs.
The locking clasp is perfect, as with all Omegas. Omega presents it
to you beautifully, the case is red leather, and the ID/chronometer
cards are held in a white leather portfolio-style case
The watch itself is stunning. It is sophisticated, somewhat
conservative but with a modern flair. It compliments a dress suit,
business casual, or even just a t-shirt. The bezel/face is the
perfect size for any size wrist. 35mm is slightly on the smaller
side for a men's watch, but I have large wrists (8") and it is just
the right size. Some of the larger watches, are just too large and
bulky to wear, this Omega is perfect. It is sturdy, but not heavy,
and is perfect for almost any occasion.
Finally, my gripes. These are barely worth mentioning, but a review
would not be complete without mentioning the negatives of a
products. First, Amazon did a sub-par job packaging it for
shipment. It did have bubble wrap, but the box was too short for
Omega's box so there was a significant bulge. Once you open the
box, you will most likely notice there is some black smudging on
the thing holding the watch in Omega's beautiful leather/velvet-y
case. This is yet again, Amazon's fault. They put a bar code
sticker to identify the watch, and the ink rubs off.
My conclusion, if you are in the market for a watch that will get
you attention and snob appeal look elsewhere (diamond/gold Rolex).
This watch, while unique, and stunning isn't going to get average
people to look at you. Only people that know about the quality of
watches, or are somewhat keen on good things will know to identify
it. You can walk into a bar with gold Rolex and heads will turn.
Whether or not you want that attention is probably determined by
some sort of self loathing or the need for attention.
If you are looking for a high-quality time piece that has value and
style this is the perfect gift for the one you love, or yourself. I
personally own a Rolex Stainless Submariner, Tug Heuer, and a
Citizen Eco-Drive and this Omega is my favorite watch.

(More customer reviews)A watch for the
collector who prizes the ideosyncratic.
Omega has created a quirky day/date automatic (a big deal in the
watch world) that isn't the price of an automobile. All automatics
are a little less exact than quartz as far as timekeeping goes, but
my speedmaster only gains about two minutes per month, and since I
like using it, I don't mind re-setting it from time to time.
The actual user manual is on-line, very specific and clear about
the controls.
But if you have no fascination with the art of watchmaking and the
"complications" of authentic, quality Swiss watchwork, go with a
quartz; it's less "work"...

Omega Men's 3222.80.00 Speedmaster Day-Date
Automatic Chronometer Chronograph Watch
Product Description:
Add a true classic to your timepiece collection with the amazingly
precise and rugged Omega Speedmaster day-and-date men's watch
(model 3222.80.00), the latest generation that first started with
the timepiece designed for NASA in the 1960s. It features the Omega
3606 caliber automatic movement, which has been certified as a
chronometer by the COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Control). Only
3 percent of watches produced in Switzerland are
"chronometer-certified." To achieve this highly coveted
certification, the movements are subjected to numerous tests over a
period of 15 consecutive days and nights, in five positions and at
three different temperatures.
The watch also includes a central chronograph hand with 30-minute
and 12-hour subdial totalizers, 24-hour subdial, and day and month
windows. The large, round watch measures 39mm wide (1.54 inches)
and 15mm thick (0.59 inches), and it's topped by a blue-plated
bezel with tachymeter readings. The blue dial background has a
circular Geneva wave pattern, luminous silver-tone hands, luminous
tipped stick hour markers, and small second indexes. It's completed
by a silver stainless steel link bracelet band that offers polished
highlights, which is joined by a secure, push-button clasp. Other
features include a scratch-resistant and glare-proofed domed
sapphire crystal, and water resistance to 100 meters (330
feet)--offering protection from accidental splashes as well
suitable for swimming, snorkeling, and light recreational
diving.

automatic timepiece to keep a reserve, it must be worn daily for 8

How to Use a Tachymeter
A tachymeter is an instrument for measuring speed. It is a
chronograph with a graduated dial on which speed can be read off in
kilometers per hour based on 1000 meters distance. For example, the
chronograph indicates that the distance of one kilometer has been
covered in 30 seconds. The corresponding point on the tachymeter
scale indicates 120, and thus the speed is 120km per hour.

watch for about 6 years. It keeps ok time. It looses a second or so
each month. The band feels good and fits great.I needed a couple of
links removed and the did the for me when I got the watch. I pick
the watch up in Jamaca on a cruise.I think a paid $1500.00 or so. I
wear it to go swimming and to the beach.I have no trouble with
water damage.I did have the main seal replaced last year when the
battery needed replacing.I think it cost me $30.00 at a local
place. I think the look is simple but nice and it is smaller and
thinner then a rolex I have. I wear it every day and it looks new.
If I had to do it over again I would by the automatic style, just
because of possible resale and I like the sweeping hand of a
automatic.

smaller wrists.People are surprised that it doesn't cost more, it
gets a lot of compliments. The band is leather, so it isn't as
durable as some other bands would be.

Movado Men's 604230 Classic Museum Stainless Steel
Watch
Product Description:
This ultra-sleek Men's Museum dial watch is the essence of
simplicity and style. It features a perfectly round black Museum
dial with slender silver-tone hands and a singleconcave dot at the
twelve o'clock position. This is the minimalist look made famous for
Movado by American designer Nathan George Horwitt in 1947.Horwitt
intended his design to be evocative of a sun dial, with the dot
representing the sun at high noon. The black dial is housed in an
ultra-thin stainless steel case measuring 31mm wide and framed by a
steel bezel with slightly elongated lugs.It presents on a sleek
black calfskin strap that tapers slightly toward the ends and
fastens with a stainless steel buckle closure. This watch features a
scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and precise Swiss quartz
movement.Water-resistant to 30 meters, it can withstand splashes
and brief immersion in water; however, it is not sufficiently
resistant for swimming.
About Movado
Movado, one of the most celebrated watch brands in the world,
traces its origins to the small village of La Chaux-de-faunds,
Switzerland where, in 1881, a young watchmaker named Achille
Ditesheim hired six assistants and opened a small workshop. He
called his company Movado, a word which means, roughly, "always in
motion."The company grew and prospered, evolving from a small
pocketwatch manufacturer into a leading innovator and designer of
precision wristwatches.Throughout its history, Movado has
maintained its place at the pinnacle of innovation and excellence
in design, craftsmanship and technology. Movado watches are crafted
by highly-skilled watchmakers to meet the exacting standards of
Swiss time technology. They are accurate to within seconds a year.
All Movado watches are sealed and protected against water, moisture
and dust, and individually tested to meet strict international
standards of quality.A long-time dedicated supporter of the arts,
Movado has, itself, been the recipient of over 200 international
awards.Movado watches can now be found in the permanent collections
of over 20 museums worldwide.

(More customer reviews)Dial material looks
inexpensive. In the see-through back, plastic material is noted. The
luminescent material on the hands does not emit any light. The
leather band wears out quite quickly. The stainless steel band
(separately sold) is too shiny. The day and month indicators are
controlled by the projected buttons, which are too soft.Any minor
pressure makes the day and month to change; thus, those indicators
are not useful at all. This watch is advertised in the Steinhausen
website as a replica of an old and prestigious watch; however,
there is no information anywhere on an old Steinhausen brand. It
seems to me the whole story is made up as marketing
strategy.Instead, this made-in-China watch imitates the Trias brand
from Germany. If you look around, you will find another
made-in-China watch, Rousseau, practically identical to this
Steinhausen. You can get an original Trias for around the same price
of this Steinhausen at auction sites.Alternatively, you can get a
handsome Seiko 5, for the price of the Steinhausen stainless steel
band.On the positive side, this watch is relatively accurate for an
automatic (plus/minus 10 seconds per day).Nonetheless, I do not
recommend this watch to any serious collector.

about:
Steinhausen Men's TW381S Classic Automatic Ivory
Dial Silver Watch
Product Description:
Swiss inventor and architect Ulrich Van-Heusen was a master
craftsman who dedicated himself to his trade. He lived in an era
when only the wealthy could afford a timepiece. But in 1923,
Van-Heusen completed his first automatic calendar watch - only one
of seven he ever completed. It displayed not only the time, but
also the date, day and month; and it was the first to designate the
difference between AM and PM. Van-Heusen named his brand
Steinhausen after the region in Switzerland from where his family
came. He was steadfast in his belief that wristwatches, not the
prevalent pocket watch, would eventually become an item people
could not live without. And he was correct! The Great Depression
almost eliminated handmade watches of this quality. One that
remains today fetched $300,000 at auction. Wristwatches became the
must-have item for people of all social strata, but the
distinguished gentry continued to buy Steinhausen's handcrafted
marvels.Steinhausen continues its reputation of producing the
finest workmanship and classy designs. And nowwe are pleased to
re-introduce the original Steinhausen model with stylish updates.
Like the original Steinhausen, each watch is painstakingly
reproduced by hand from 185 genuine Swiss parts. Then it is so
rigorously tested for two weeks that just six percent of movements
made end up in a Steinhausen. Swiss automatic movement standards
allow for an accuracy of +25/-27 seconds per day. Our Steinhausen
watches rate +15/-13 seconds per day, making it more accurate. The
Limited Edition Classic follows the tradition of displaying the
day, date, month, year, and moon and stars depicting day and night.
The sweeping second-hand movement, brushed and polished stainless
steel, and ivory face with Roman numerals is included, too.
Thirty-five jeweled stones inside aid movement and accuracy; and
interchangeable brown and black leather wristbands will match
whatever clothes you're wearing. It comes in a handsome felt-lined
wood box, along with a card certifying its authenticity.

(More customer reviews)I got this as a
gift some time ago.I was looking/hoping for a nice dress watch as I
only usually wear digital watches. As far as looks go, this is very
smooth looking. The face is clean and the brushed metal is
not-too-shiny but its noticeable on your wrist. It seems to move
fine, haven't had any trouble there.
Now, onto the not great.First, its a bit clunky on my relatively
slim wrist. The band is probably the worst part about this watch as
it is (as other reviews mention) fairly inflexible and does not
really conform to yourwrist. While the segments don't really hinge
well, they still do a good job of pinching the hairs around your
wrist.I'm not even that hair and that pinching is the number one
reason why I don't wear this watch more often.

(More customer reviews)The last sport
watch you'll ever need to buy.
This review refers to the Model 2218.50, XL version (45 mm case)
with steel bracelet. The opinions of the movement, adjustment and
reliability are also applicable to the model with rubber strap and
leather / lizard strap.
This is a hefty timepiece, it weighs 9+ ounces (over half a pound),
it feels and exudes quality and is bound to illicit a glance and a
double take. The domed double anti glare sapphire crystal is super
sharp and sometimes hard to determine it is even there.
The exterior is a combination of brushed and polished stainless
steel, most notably the trademark Omega horns are this blended
finish.
The screw down crown is adorned with the Omega logo and easy to
open, the first position enables manual winding for a power boost,
the helium escape valve at 10:00 is adorned with the periodic
symbol "He".
Clockwise turns of the crown in second position adjusts the date
forward, the date can't be adjusted backwards. Time adjustment is
easy and rapid; no adjustment for seconds is available.
The unidirectional bezel rotates counter clockwise 120 clicks and
lines up perfectly with every second marker, the solid feel of the
rotation is nothing less than you'd expect from an Omega.
The luminescent material of this watch is a glow magnet, just a few
seconds exposure to sunlight or held close to a lamp will turn the
face of this watch into a lighthouse! Combined with the chrome and
split bezel hands of the subdials and this timepiece can be used as
a signal mirror for low flying aircraft.
The Omega 3313 movement is identical to their 3303 movement except
the 3313 has the co-axial escapement, this is the same movement
inside the Omega DeVille and will be used in future models.
The accuracy of this watch is only surpassed by my Omega SeaMaster
Quartz 300 2221.80, my Quartz Omega never loses or gains a second
and the PO gains less than 5 seconds a week. The days I don't wear
it, I spend 60 seconds winding it and store it standing vertically
for optimum movement.
The bracelet includes the scuba extension of all SeaMasters, but
has no convenience pins for rapid adjustment or for bodily weight
fluctuation. It releases easily with the double release pins and
feels confidently closed when clasped.
I've performed testing of the power reserve, it continues to
function about 43 hours with a full wind.
The watch can also function with a running chronograph for over 40
hours on a full wind, that is impressive.
Overall, I'd recommend this watch for anyone who wants an exquisite
sport timepiece which isn't out of place at a formal, like all of
the Omegas made before it; I expect this watch to endure for my
grandchildren and their grandchildren.

Automatic Chronometer Orange Leather Watch
Product Description:
The Seamaster Planet Ocean from Omega delivers exceptional
performance and great style, both above water and below. The
polished steel case frames a black dial with luminous hour, minute,
and seconds hands and luminous markers for excellent visibility,
even in low light conditions. The dial also features orange Arabic

scratch-proof sapphire crystal and framed by a unidirectional
rotating steel bezel, in orange, with minute markings and fluted
edges for grip.An orange crocodile-textured leather strap completes
the look. This Omega watch features self-winding Swiss automatic
movement enhanced by Omega's breakthrough co-axial escapement, a
technology that ensures high precision and stable accuracy over
long periods of use.It is rated water resistant to a full 600
meters (or 2000 feet).

(More customer reviews)My previous watch
was a sturdy, made in India, Titan quartz watch.
I replaced it simply because I got bored of it.
I have loved Casio watches because they simply never stop
working.
The DBE30-1AV is a very good watch for the price. This is the kind
of watch for the people
who are obsessed with ultra-efficiency. The watch switches itself
off to save power
when kept motionless in dark. When you pick it up and wear it, it
switches on automatically
without having to press any buttons.
It is Solar, so you will never have to replace batteries. It has a
backup battery which
runs for 6 months. The backup battery will be used only when you
dont see the sunlight for
a few days.
This watch has all the features (stop watch, databank, night light,
international time and so on)
that you might normally need. You will not need any more features
unless you plan to climb the
Everest (Some watches have a thermometer, pressure guage, altimeter
and even a
tv remote control...really!)
This watch looks good and is quite tough. When solar watches first
came into the market,
they were very fragile and quite inefficient. Not so any more.
The technology has vastly improved.
This watch is Made in China. In earlier days Casio watches were
Made in Japan.
I found this watch to be of the same quality.
The only thing that I do not like about Casio watches is that the
strap breaks after a
period of time.
