(More customer reviews)I got jealous of a family member who got a pool table for X-Mas, because I had nowhere for a regular, dedicated pool table.Then I saw that companies made pool / dining tables... GENIUS!The dining room is used mostly to eat ... otherwise useless space.Why didn't I think of that?!

Now that I'd usurp the dining room with such a table, I'd have to convince the MRS.So I didn't want a pool table that LOOKED like a pool table with a top just laid over it - cheesy.I wanted one that looked like a dining table so that no one would know until I took the top off.Stealth is COOL!

Fast and furious internet searches showed some really nice ones from Europe - ones that cleverly hid the billiard fantasy underneath gorgeous table tops.But the prices were not right (several thousands of dollars and then shipping), and it would be hard to rectify any problems from across the pond.It was also hard to come by reliable, good reviews for American companies.It seemed like a big gamble for such a pricey item.In addition, the really good ones have slate beds, and I wasn't sure I wanted to put that much weight in one spot on a wooden floor.

Then I saw this DLT Monterey at a competitor's site (C*STC*) and also at this site.The thing looked beautiful in the pictures.It was not made of heavy slate (hey, I'm NO Minnesota Fats, so MDF is good enough for me).It was cheaper than others, and the competitor had a better price by 800 bucks.It was also a 7'x 4' (total dimensions) table which fit pretty well in my dining room (I just got some shorter cue sticks for the tighter shots).Very importantly, it could be returned if it was garbage.

However, I was hesitant to buy since not many people had reviewed it.There were 2 pretty good and seemingly honest reviews at C*stc*.But that was it. This site had no reviews at all.So I agonized over it for weeks.It was the ONLY table that fit my bill, so I took a chance and am very happy I did.

The packaging protected the table very well.It seemed that the shipping company had damaged one corner of the box, but the table inside was still protected and pristine.

It is a VERY handsome piece of furniture.Yeah, it's MDF and laminate, but they do one HECK of a job on the mahogany finish (and I found a nice mahogany cue stand to match).The legs are beautifully carved and the sheen of the table top is gorgeous.It does not LOOK like a pool table.I invited my family over and they asked where the pool table was... while they were standing beside it.

A poker playing friend of mine saw the poker top and said it was nicer than any in-home poker table he had ever played at.

Anyway, there were a few downsides too, which prompts only 4 stars.

First, the top is suspended on around twenty something little clear rubber cups that hold the table about 1/2 inches above the pool rails (this protects the rails and leather pockets).It is annoying to take these off and put them back on as part of the table transformation.Plus, it raises the table top height a little higher than what people are used to when they eat (about 1 and 1/2 inches above the dining table we replaced - noticeable but not uncomfortable). For the price though, this doesn't bother me that much because ... I GOT A POOL TABLE IN MY DINING ROOOOOOMMM!!!!

Secondly the table top is VERY heavy.It needs 2 people to lift.Then it is so big, where does one put it?!My wife couldn't lift it with me, and I wanted to be able to do it by myself.I brought my carpenter dad and my bro over one day and cut it into 3 pieces (my brother almost fainted as we cut the gorgeous one piece top).It is tricky, because it is made of laminated MDF and it has to be scored correctly so the circular saw does not kick out pieces of jagged laminate.Our result wasn't factory perfect, but came out pretty darned good.A little stain and wood filler and eurathane and voila!My pop rigged a little system of aluminum pieces so the 3 parts could connect and hold each other up against gravity.And now I can remove the 3 pieces by myself and play any time.(The company would sell a bunch of these if they made the top out of 3 pieces to begin with!)

I am actually upset that both of these sites stopped selling it before I could write my review.Maybe my review would have generated more interest in this product or at least prompted the company to create a table with a 3 piece top.All I can say is I'm glad I bought it when I did, or else I would have had nothing.I like this table!

I use them at night to relieve and prevent pain from cubital tunnel syndrome in both arms. The elbow splints are very comfortable, especially compared to the neoprene sleeves I was using before. The cushy cotton is a huge improvement on the neoprene. Adjusting them to fit takes a few minutes, but then they just slip on and off easily while remaining snug enough to provide support and stay on through the night.

Last night was the first time I've slept through the night in a long while without having arm pain wake me. Thanks for carrying this product and having such a competitive price.

If you go hard at the ball it sails a long way, 2 weeks ago I hit a popping delivery on the up, on the edge, it sailed three quarters of the way to the point boundry. (not a good shot, but just to give you some impression of the power)
This is a top of the line bat, worth every cent. (they retail in New Zealand for $595.95) When knocking in special attention needs to be given to the edges and toe, as the bat has so much wood IT WILL TAKE LONGER TO KNOCK IN, than a normal GM, Grey Nichols or Kookaburra - If you dont want your bat to crack or break, that is.

Pro's

The offical power meter for this is 9.5 out of a possible 10.
Great for stroke makers and the tail end slogger, due to the HUGE sweet spot.
Eccellent pick up and ballance.
Oval handle.
As used by Sachin Tendulkar, Steve Waugh and Brian Lara.

Con's

Needs more knocking in than smaller bats-the longer the better.
Toe guard would be advisable.
Mine came with 2 grips already, two grips are a good idea.

Jugs Combo Pitching Machine Review

(More customer reviews)It is very hard to find reviews on pitching machines. After hours of research online, I found maybe a couple of useful sites. For those considering an investment like this, the other major manufacturer of this type of machine is ATEC.

First, I'd like to say that I am overall pleased with this product. As of this writing, this is the top-of-the-line Jugs brand baseball pitching machine. It throws not only fastballs at various speeds, but also a variety of breaking balls (i.e. curves & sliders). It also throws a variety of different kinds of balls; meaning regular baseballs/t-balls, foam balls, large wiffle balls & tennis balls (see the Jugs site for details). Finally, it comes with additional equipment (i.e. shorter legs, different-sized ball feeder) that allows it to be used for softballs, too.

I take off a little less than one star for the price of the machine. In fairness, the price range is similar to the competition (ATEC Casey Pro machine), & I'd guess this is a low-volume product. That said, it appears to be a pretty uncomplicated piece of work.

I take off a little more than one star due to the difficulty in moving this machine. This is a double-edged sword, since it seems to have a quite durable construction. However, being average in strength, I find it pretty difficult to move the machine without risking either dropping it or hurting myself. Unlike for some of their single-wheel machines, Jugs does not make a transport cart for this model (which they report is due to its high weight & top-heavy nature!). For this reason, I've decided to leave it outside (well-covered) as the lesser of two evil choices; the other choice being to not use it frequently enough due to its cumbersome design.

I purchased this from Jugs directly & paid about the same price as listed here (~ $2500); however, I believe it cost about another ~ $200 to have it shipped. Mercifully, it came mainly pre-assembled, so all that was required was to attach the legs.

In closing, I would also say that my one interaction with Jugs customer service went well, with them being polite & informative.

(More customer reviews)I have had 3 of these and they have all deflated within a couple of days. They were like a miracle cure for my Plantar Fasciitis at first. But, just walking around in them in shoes and sandals...nothing strenuous...they just lose air and go flat. I have no idea as to where the leaks occur. I have inspected them, but the problem area is not obvious. This is really a shame because the idea is 5 stars, but the execution is 0 stars. Totally unreliable. 3 for 3 deflations within 3 days. The manufacturer should have to recall these and fix the obvious problem!
UPDATE: I decided to try to find the air leak and did so by immersing in water and putting pressure on the foot pad. The leaks were in the same exact point on one of the ankle pads that has the air hose in it. About 1/2" from the airhose along the seam. So, the problem would appear to be inadequate sealing of the seam. Now, I am a large man and weigh around 210 lbs, so weight could be a factor, since the pressure on the seam would increase with weight.

First of all, in my experience, this sort of knee strap that puts a little bit of pressure on the patella tendon works very well for preventing certain types of knee pain and injury.I've used them for years, running 20-25 miles per week and walking 5-10 more. However, up until now, I've always used the Pro-Tec knee strap...and with great success....it's a good product.

The Futuro Knee Strap, however, is half the price of the Pro-Tec, is more comfortable and does a better job of staying in place. It may not be as well made...the Futuro appears to be glued togther, the Pro-tec is stitched...but the materials are comparable and well, so far so good. I've had no failures over the first couple of hundred miles of use and they seem to be holding up well.

The only reason I could think of to try the Pro-tec over the Futuro is if you are very large or very small. the Pro-tec comes in sizes, Futuro is one size fits all.

They are extremely sturdy with a very comfortable rubber-like grip. If nothing else, they come in very cool colors and designs. I've actually got 4 raquets now... all of different styles.

The game is real easy and can be played almost anywhere and by anyone ... you certainly don't need to be an expert. I've played on the beach as well as in my back yard.
