(More customer reviews)I recently purchased a Fuji Q3 and it has certainly lived up to my expectations. As a professional painter I finish trim for new houses. I bought a Campbell-Hausfeld HVLP sprayer and it served me fine for small jobs. It was portable but incredibly loud and difficult to set a fine enough spray for varnish. Not so with the Fuji sprayer. I used it for 8 hours straight today and I couldn't be happier. It was easy to adjust the material and pattern and keep a fine enough particle spray to do an excellent job from door casing to full doors. The turbines are also so quiet that I could still hear the radio playing in the background with out having to turn it up. The gun is so light weight that even after a full day of spraying my hand and arm are not tired. I bought and fully recommend the 6 foot whip hose. When needing to manuver the gun into tight spaces or to follow the pattern on a six panel oak door it was nice that I didn't have to drag around the heavier hose. Over all this outfit is first rate and a joy to use. Fuji is to be commended for such a fine product.

(More customer reviews)I'm a full time residential remodeler. We used to put a box fan in a window at customers houses until I found this draw fan. It will unroll toilet paper off the wall. I got the vent hose with it, which I recommend, and now can place the fan on the floor near the work, run the hose at least fifteen feet away to a window and remove practically all airborne dust, chemical odors or smoke from large rooms or sites without delay. Tearing down a 25' x 75' plaster-on lath basement ceiling, the dust was so bad in 10 minutes you couldn't see a light bulb across the room. Within 7 minutes....or less.... with this fan working, you couldn't tell we had even started yet. We did have to make a Lauan window frame "collar" to support the hose in a double hung but besides that, this monster starts working right out of the box. You can do no better service for your residential customers or your personal health than with this powerful bugger. It's truly quite loud, which leads us to shutting it down now and then (like a small airplane-can't hear the radio) but when it comes to you or your people breathing in god knows what unknown chems and dust... this machine makes me a better contractor

(More customer reviews)The system was easy to install, and worked great for about 6 hours.Then the fitting blew off the hose and wouldn't reattach with any security.I am in the process of trying to fix this huge design flaw, but my advice is to stay away from this product until they fix the hose coupling.It is construct of a soft, cheap plastic that probably saved the company 13 cents a unit or something over a more reliable brass fitting.I will probably be able to replace it with a brass coupling of some sort myself, as I am pretty good at fixing design flaws in products--these days, you have to be.However, if you are interested in a product that works as it is supposed to without any custom modifications right out of the box, stay away from this one.It's really too bad, this item is yet another consumer product that is just one chintzy, money saving part away from being worth the price.

Makita AN942 Clipped Head 2-Inch to 3-1/2-Inch Framing Nailer Review

(More customer reviews)Depth of drive is awesome.No tools, just click the dial which is conveniently located and it increments or decrements in 1 millimeter intervals.

This framer feels light for its size, yet is very powerful.It shoots standard nails, and I also used the 30 degree paslode FRH (full round head) nails and ring shanks without issue.

Rubber grip is comfortable and the tool has rubber bumpers to protect the housing.

Not sure about the air sheet to reduce the noise when decoupling the air hose, it still seems pretty loud to me so I don't know why they bothered with that.

I don't use LVL's (I prefer steel) so I can't report on super heavy duty wood framing, but for general purpose stuff like walls, floor joists, built-up beams I had no problems toenailing and sinking the heads, even with ringshanks.

No complaints except the high price and it could have come with a rafter hook.I would definitely buy it again.By the way, it needs a 3/8" NPT air fitting or you'll need a step down to use it with standard 1/4" air fittings.

If you're comparing to the AN922 full round head Makita framer, a BIG difference is the 922 will shoot .162 gauge nails and the 942 is limited to .131 (which is typical).

(My previous reviews mysteriously disappeared.)It is a great machine right out of the box, but I did do one modification to improve it: I added a strip of 1/4" x 3/4" foam insulation in the groove around the center ring that seats the top bag.Without it, the top bag leaked small quantities of fine dust, but not enough to foul the air.Running off 110 volts is a real advantage if you don't want to add more 220 circuits to your shop.
I bought it mainly to use with my Jet 5 hp, left tilt table saw (reviewed separately), but have since made fixtures to use with other tools.It really keeps the table saw clean.I also purchased a Woodstock International W1044, 4" to 2-1/2" adapter which allows me to connect it to my old shop vac hose for use on the floor and my router table.This machine is so quiet that my old shop vac now sits in the corner collecting no dust!
It really is quiet - making not much more noise than the average window air conditioner.I often leave it running between cuts and setups, just because I hate to bend down to reach the switch.It would be nice if Jet could mount it higher on the machine, like on one of the legs that hold the bags.
Other than the switch location and the easily fixed dust leak on the top bag, this machine approaches perfection.It will be a real improvement to your shop, especially if you are using a screaming shop vac for dust collection now!

We bought this LG washer recently to replace our over-10-year-old washer. We were excited to get this since it looks nice and is energy efficient.It does what it says: use significantly less water and wash clothes clean. However, we found a big problem with the washer. Every time we start the washer, our house water pipes will shake violently for about one minute. The strong vibration occurs on pipes some distance from the water tap and is caused by rapid engaging of the on/off valve of the LG washer as it starts. As we never saw this kind of vibration with our old washer, we contacted LG and a technician came over. It appears that this situation is not unique to us, as the technician had responded to other similar complaints in the area.Furthermore, we were told older houses (>10 year) are more likely to have this kind of air hammering effect. We are concerned that the strong vibration may cause problems in our house water pipes.Not surprisingly, a google search of the problem found that other LG users had complained unknown, repeated leaks in their water pipes, sometimes from behind the wall. Fearful of the leaks in our water pipes, we installed two air hammer arrester and that seems to alleviate the problem.I wish that LG had warned customers of this potentially serious problem.

The best thing was that I was able to flush the line with HOT water using a garden hose adaptor I purchased for the bathroom faucet. I will now use this every month to keep the line kclear and sludge free! I would highly recommend this to anyone who has AC line clog problems. The small investment in this tool saved me the $200 service call fee I would have been charged to unclog the line from the AC repair people (who by the way were not able to clean the line despite having them come out three times to do it. They ended up telling me to call a plumber).

(More customer reviews)I bought this blower because I wanted to clean off my driveway without the hassle of plugging in my larger electric blower. I've owned it for about a year now.
The first thing that you notice about this blower is that it's much smaller than it looks in the photos. It's closer in size to your hand saw than it is to a standard leaf blower.
This has it's advantages and disadvantages. It's easy to set up, just twist the nozzle onto the front and plug the battery in the handle and you're ready to go. If you have a small outdoor job like blowing leaves or twigs off your front porch it works great. But being physically smaller in size than other blowers you don't move nearly the volume of air as a full size blower and sometimes you need to bend over and "push" the debris around with the air stream. The trigger style variable speed switch is great in that it allows you to dust off items that wouldn't survive a more powerful blast. It would be great for jobs like blowing sawdust out of your shop area as you could lightly dust the shelves and then sweep the floors full blast.
Even with an 18 volt battery the Makita doesn't have enough power to do the big jobs or work well on grassy surfaces. Even a large driveway would be a strain as it would require too much bending over and you would probably run out of power before you were done.
This blower is for hard surfaces and small jobs. In this role it is a mini powerhouse. It's build quality is high and it is light weight. It's designed for those "in between" size jobs.
It might even make a good blow dryer for a wet dog.
In summary, do NOT purchase this blower for regular yard work. Buy a full size.
DO purchase this blower for jobs of convenience and you will enjoy it. It is well built and nice to have when you're willing to start a five minute job but not a 20 minute one. :^)
Update: Dec 5, 2002 This morning I used the blower to blow off the powder snow that fell on my vehicle overnight. It took less than a minute and I didn't get my hands snowy just before I had to leave for work. Because you can whip this blower out quickly, there are a lot of different things that you can use it for that you might not think of otherwise.

Ridgid 19148 Auto-Spin Sink Machine Review

(More customer reviews)I have a recurring clog in my kitchen drain that I have to snake once or twice a year, about 24 feet down the line from the garage end.I have been renting a large commercial auger for 40 bucks a day, and they are very heavy, labor intensive and they tend to sling greasy water around the area when you retract them from the line.I saw this one and decided it looked like a good design, so bought one.
I'm pleased with the design of it, the fact that it is self-feeding and self-retracting, and also that it has the hose to enclose the cable to keep it from flopping around and flinging nasty stuff around the work area.However, it's not perfect.
If I were to redesign this tool, I would make it about 30% larger all over with a little bit more heft and power, use a bit more metal than plastic, and increase the cable capacity to 3/8" X 40 or even 50 feet. A couple replaceable auger/cutter heads would also be nice.Then we'd have the ideal homeowner drain auger. Offer it for under [...] bucks and you couldn't lose.
If all you're doing is snaking the occasional slow kitchen drain or hair clogs in the tub, this baby should be perfectly adequate.But if I were a landlord having to maintain several units, I would definitely get something bigger.The problem is, there's just a huge gap in size between this and the next size up.I believer there is definitely a niche in between for a somewhat larger auger of this design.My congratulations to Ridgid or Home Depot for coming up with this design.Now just boost the size a little bit.

I did look at the dewalt brad nailer and I also love Dewalt tools, However this tool was favored a little more than the Dewalt. Price difference between the two tools was nothing to compare almost equal.

I can tell this tool will last. One more thing to add is Milwaukee has a warrenty for three more years than Dewalt. That is a total of five years. Dewalt only two.

I was priming my newly scraped and textured ceilings, which were really sucking up paint, and it was taking forever. I wanted something that would deliver paint to my roller without me having to return to the tray for more paint. I debated whether to get a low end professional machine or a high end Wagner and I ultimately ended up with this...half the price.

I hesitated because of the Wagner Paint Crew...non plus version. Reports of needing lots of paint in the hopper to work properly, long cleanup procedure, and reliability issues. I figured that this unit addressed the problem of needing lots of paint in the hopper by the new design; which it did (it was pretty much down to the bottom before it sucked in air). And then I figured that those who didn't complain about the reliability were complaining about the clean up. In other words, those who didn't clean, had issues on the subsequent use.

As far as clean up goes, it went well. Yes it takes awhile, but not more than expected. You need to be able to follow directions; at least the first time. After getting used to the machine, everything seemed to make sense. Just be prepared to read the instructions...for both setup and cleaning.

What could use improvement? Well, my roller attachment that came with the unit was a bit out of round. It was a little bit bulged in the middle, which made putting the paint down a little more difficult. Many people also complained about needing a swivel attachment on the gun handle. I took their word for it and bought one just to be on the safe side; and yes, it is a must have (~$25).

Last thoughts/summary.
-Read manual
-Spend time to cleanup.
-I didn't use the spray nozzle...just the roller.
-Good for large area. Small area isn't worth the clean-up time.
-Would highly recommend
