(More customer reviews)I bought this stove 2 years ago when they were priced at $1050.00. For the money it is a great little stove for the money they are asking now there are a lot more stoves' out there with better features, like: Ash Draw and agitator. If this stove had that I would buy another one. But now you have to shut down the stove everyday to clean it and the 40lb. hopper only uses about 30lbs and then shut downs. If there were an agitator to burn all of the pellets you could get the 14 hours burning time instead you get about 8 - 10 hours. If they dropped their price back to $1050, I would buy this stove. It has not broken down and heats my whole 1600 sq ft house during our New England winters.

It gets really hot, especially in the summer, and I also have a lot of electronic equipment(av receiver, Xbox 360, PS3, LCD tv, some halogen lamps, etc.) and to top that all off I am really hot natured. So I needed something to keep the room cool. This thing does it effortlessly. The temp. in my room used to climb up to 75oF, now with the SoleusAir it stays at around 66-68oF, just how I like it. On a side note, my central A/C went out last summer and it got up to 83oF in my house, but the SoleusAir kept it at a cool 68oF in my room. So you can count on it even under the most demanding loads. It also has a built-in heater as well and it heats as well as it cools. So this is really an all-in-one unit. The only downside(along with any other portable a/c unit) is that you must run 2 hoses(one exhaust, one intake) to a window. It comes with a window installation kit, but I live near a busy street so I can sometimes hear outside noise... but it's not too bad.

But I would highly recommend this product.

(More customer reviews)Larger tanks are easier to maintain than smaller ones, because in small tanks the fish's waste builds up rapidly (especially when there is no filter!!). Not to mention, smaller tanks give the fish very little room to move.

Also, bettas are tropical fish. Unless you keep your tank in a room which is around 80F all year, day and night, you will need to buy a heater. It is not possible to safely heat a tank that is smaller than 5 gallons.

Finally, this kit comes with a plastic plant. Betta tanks should be decorated with silk or live plants only, as plastic plants can tear their delicate fins.

(More customer reviews)When we replaced our washer and dryer units I had to work hard get what I wanted.Exceeding my husband expectations of cost was the difficult part but it turns out the Whirlpool Duet front loader washer (GHW9150) and matching dryer (GEW9250) was a great investment.Without being a slave to the laundry room, I can get six large loads done in a day.Being Energy Star certified, the Duet units are extremely efficiently even with large loads.And, the washer conserves water by automatically adjusting how much is needed for each load.

But the decision was not an easy one as some reviews about front loaders discussed concerns of mildew and extreme entanglement of clothing. By actually read the manuals since our purchase (April 2005) we haven't had a single problem or complaint.

One, pay attention to the fact that there is special power needs for this. You most likely will have to upgrade breakers, wires and plugs to run this. Second, just take the free delivery! I paid the for three to five day delivery. Once they mailed it took longer than that because of size and weight. Early shipping allowed it to meet the quoted time but the delivery time was off. Save your money.

(More customer reviews)This aquarium, along with other small "starter kit" aquariums are inadequate for the needs of most fish (even smaller fish like tetras and danios) and promote impulse buying of fish (particularly goldfish. more on that below).

Aquarium "kits" give many people the impression that they can just buy the kit, fill it with dechlorinated water, and dump in the fish. This causes so much heartache for the poor buyer, as they will see their brand new fish go belly up within days or even hours depending on the conditions of the tank and fish. :(

The reason for this is because in a "kit" aquarium, the buyer is not encouraged to CYCLE the tank That is, allow bacteria to build up in the system- a process that can take days, but there are treatments that can be added to the water to speed up the process.
If that weren't bad enough, the dimensions of the aquarium here itself (1.7 gallons?) are severely inadequate for most types of fish, as I stated above. Fish need room to swim around, lest they become ill or overly stressed. (with the exception of really slow moving fish, of course...like bettas, etc).
In a large, healthy aquarium, there are many types of beneficial bacteria living in the ceramic media at the bottom of the filter. This is good. It breaks down the toxic fish waste and ammonia and all is well with the aquarium.
A small aquarium is doubly bad for the novice, as problems with the water quality can get deadly to the fish much much faster than they could in a large aquarium. There is no room for error in a tiny 1.7 gallon cube.Though to a beginner, a large aquarium may seem daunting, the novice hobbyist will have much better luck with a 30 gallon. Water changes are done less frequently, and if the filter goes out in a 30 gallon aquarium, you won't have to drop everything and immediately go out and buy a new one. You can wait a day.

A little word about goldfish: goldfish require a large aquarium to suit their needs. They are very dirty fish, and produce lots of...err...waste, so they would need a larger aquarium as well as a pretty efficient filtration system. Even in a large aquarium (20-30 gallons) just one goldfish would require at least weekly partial water changes.
Goldfish also get HUGE. Some can grow to 8-12 inches. They can also live 20-30 years. So, when a goldfish dies after five years, it didn't die of old age...just so you know.About my fish: I keep two Oranda goldfish (those are the little guys with puffy red caps on their heads) named Pork and Beans in a 25 gallon rectangular aquarium. When they get too big, I will either sell one, or transfer them to a larger 30-40 gallon.hope this helps! :)

One thing was missing when we moved in to our new house some 12 years ago, the type and actual size of the air filter. Builders often use prefabricated intakes and, just as often, fail to give the customer/buyer the source and part number for the correct filters. Thankfully, through my searching I found that Precisionaire had the correct filter and have been purchasing these filters ever since.

(More customer reviews)Betta's need to be in 3-10 gallon tanks by themselves (5 or larger and you might be able to add compatible fish, though I wasn't willing to risk it). In the wild, they live in rice paddies which are thousands of gallons of swimming space and naturally aerated and filtered, and only live in "small puddles" for about 2 or 3 months (at most) out of the year during the dry season.

What's more, while Wild bettas may be able to take smaller conditions longer and survive better, the fancy bettas we see in the stores today are not nearly as durable or hardy and need more stimulation and space.

I would MAYBE keep a single guppy in here for a day, but thats about it.And even then I wouldn't recommend it.

(More customer reviews)My wife calls this a "man's fan" because it comes with a remote control.The remote is a cool touch, but not what makes this product (or set of products) great.The fans are quiet, unintrusive and feature rich.

First, the fans are supprisingly quiet.They provide enough white noise for falling asleep, but no so much that they become distraction.(A set of Sony MDR-NC6 Noise Canceling Headphones wil block them right out if you're listening to music.)The oscillation is generally quiet.After a year of near constant use, I can only detect a slight rattle if I pay close attention.

Second, the fans have a very small, but stable, footprint.I hate the protruding legs on standing fans.The larger fan can stand just about anywhere in a room without a leg for someone to trip on.The smaller fan sits nicely on a shelf or desk.Mine sits next to my monitor at work.I also hate how top-heavy table fans can be.No worries with this set.I've yet to knock one over even after a few late-night collisions.

Third, there are a ton of features--or at least a dozen.The small fan has three speeds, oscillation and timer (1, 2 or 4 hours).The large fan has the same speeds and ocsicllation, plus you can set the timer in half-hour increments for up to 7.5 hours.The Sleep Wind feature let's you start the fan at one speed and it will periodically reduce its speed.Sounds nice, but I've never used it.The Natural Wind settings are supposed to simulate the changing wind velocities in the real world.I tried it for 15 minutes, felt like I was in a hyperactive version of The Three Pigs and have never used it since.

A great feature I didn't realize I would use so much is the ability to restrict or expand the sweep of the fan when it oscillates.When the oscillation is off, you can rotate the fan into one of five positions.In the middle position, the fan will oscillate with a broad sweep.If you rotate the fan to either side, it will restrict it's sweep to a smaller arc.I use this at night when I want the fan to oscillate, but also want to keep the air focused toward my bed.

Finally, the remote control.Why do you need a remote control for a fan?Why not!It's a remote!You sit on one side of the room and the fan responds to you on the other side.That's the kind of real power that makes you wish for a hot day.The remote isn't wimpy, either.It let's you control just about every feature on the large fan--the small fan doesn't have one--and there is hook on the side of the fan for storing the remote when not in use.My four-year-old son loves to play with it and it hasn't been lost yet.Something about the hook makes him want to hang it up.

There you go.Who knew I'd be so blown away by a fan.

(More customer reviews)We purchased this cooler because we love Primo water and figured this cooler would work well.Most things did work as advertised, but there were two major flaws with this product:

1) The unit smelled like an oil refinery and filled my kitchen with a horrible smell after it was unboxed.After it was plugged in, and the heating element started, the smell got even worse.The worst part was this flavor was transferred to the water.We washed the interior and exterior of the cooler and ran four gallons of water through both hot and cold recepicles, but it did no good.

2) The flow on both the hot and cold recepicles is very slow.

We ended up returning this item.

(More customer reviews)I just did the initial cleaning as specified in the manual. After reading the previous reviews, I'll put a disposable roaster pan under it in case it leaks. The reason I'm writing this review so soon is that I'm already finding this appliance a bit difficult to use. I don't like the design of the 2 small silicone drain stoppers in the bottom of the unit. They have to be removed and replaced twice each for a cleaning (that's a total of eight operations - 2 removals and 2 replacements for hot and the same for cold). Using needle-nose pliers (as specified in the instructions) I had to do a lot of pulling and twisting to get them to come off. They are delicate and it is difficult to tell how badly they are damaged by this. The result of a damaged stopper under 3 gallons of pressure would be a bad leak. They go on easily enough - its only removing them that's a problem. The unit came with two plugs installed plus three extras. I tore one and was afraid to reuse the other two so now the last two are installed. I've contacted Hamilton Beach and asked for replacements in case I need them the next time I have to drain the unit. They really need to redesign the way this model drains. I bought it as a convenience - I wish it were easier to use.
