(More customer reviews)I've used the MF-81 for a few months and I've found it to be very accurate, reliable and, for the most part, easy to use.I haven't been able to test it against a doctor's office mercury cuff (considered the most accurate), but it was tested against another cuff that was tested as accurate and it was pretty much right on the money.

Positives:Accurate, compact, inexpensive (other cuffs with the same features typically cost more), fits both small and large wrists, remembers last 60 readings and gives average.

Negatives: To find out the average of the last 60 readings requires hitting the "memory" button up to 60 times.I lost my instruction booklet so maybe there's a faster way.If not, this is an inconvenience.The battery warning symbol is also rather unreliable.Mine has given a low battery warning for a month and I've used it between 50 and 100 times without a problem.

For the most part this is real bargain.I needed an accurate wrist cuff and I didn't want to spend a lot of money so it's perfect in that sense.If you require getting an average reading without much fuss then you might want to pay more for an easier to use model.

When on my bike, it periodically reverts to startup mode and stats are lost. The concept is great, but to be really reliable, more work needs to done on the design. Made in China like many low cost products now days. Guess you get what you pay for!

(More customer reviews)This is a pretty good scale. I like that it has the options for body fat and water. They don't really function all that well and tend to fluctuate quite a bit so I'm not sure how accurate it really is. It is nice to have a general idea though.
Fluctuations for me have been between 28% and 34% percent body fat in a 4 day window, now I know I didn't gain that much body fat in 4 days. So I just take the body fat and water percentages with a grain of salt.

The other thing this scale does that I'm not a fan of is the weight reading changes while you are taking it if you move the slightest bit. Even with slight movement it jumps around quite a bit.

I haven't quite figured out how to activate it for just a weight reading with out actually hitting the on/off button, though my 2 year old has :)
I tried tapping it with my foot and that doesn't work, I guess I will have to read the manual for that, that's what they are for!I do recommend this scale, just not for someone who is in need of seriuos tracking for body fat or water.
Or some one over the age of 50 because it doesn't let you enter an age past 50 for the memory, body fat, and water percentages.Bottom line:
Good scale for weight.
Good for approximate body fat and water, not accurate.
Good for use under 50 years of age.

Bad for anyone over 50.
Bad fluctuations in weight with even slight movement.

Probably not worth the money.

(More customer reviews)My SC-560 took over six weeks to arrive, too, and I wonder if it was due to high demand following a glowing review of the model in "Prevention" magazine.That review was what inspired me to get this particular scale, and I doubt I was the only one.

This scale gives you so much more information than just your weight (in increments of 0.2 pounds); it displays body fat percentage, body water percentage, and estimated daily caloric requirement to maintain your current weight.This may be too much info for some people who just want a quick weight reading, although it does that, too.

The reason I am not rating the scale more highly is that I find the LCD display a bit small for comfortable reading.The "low/normal/moderate/high" indicator is practically invisible.Also, the scale would not work for me at first -- I was on the verge of calling Homedics customer service when I thought to remove the 9-volt battery and reinstall it, after which it seemed to work just fine.Finally, I find the "Ideal" weight and caloric requirement that the scale suggests to be confusing.I feel I could stand to lose a few pounds yet it tells me I should be heavier than I am.Hmmmmm.....

If you want this model, the price here at Amazon is by far the best I found anywhere online.

(More customer reviews)I walk alot at work. Step counters I've had in the past have been flimsy and fall off way too easily. I got this for a Valentine's Day gift and it worked fine for awhile, but all of a sudden, it started to reset itself. It works great, it keeps track of my steps well, records my calories, etc., but it resets itself for no reason.

I'm starting to regret the money I spent on it and wished I'd just gotten a small, cheap step counter. The only reason I got this one was my boyfriend has it as well and his works great.

I've tried to contact the company that makes it, but never heard from them. My guess is that it's not meant to be worn for the whole day, just when exercising or jogging.

Avoid this one unless you only want to use it for exercising and not the entire day.

(More customer reviews)I had this unit for three day before I broke it.Had it in the cargo pocket of my cargo pants for an hour.Didn't lay down on it or stress it or anything.Took it out and the LCD was cracked.The clear plastic protective cover over the display is just way to thin and pliant.I've carried cell phones and other devices in various pockets for years and never had a device break like this.A shame because a stronger plastic cover would probably cost almost nothing relative to the rest of the device.

Other than that, I liked the device.Easy to use and clear display.It lacks a continuous monitoring mode.You can only do 30 seconds at time, which is a pain when you are trying to catch occasional missed heart beats.If you want the optional leads and software, go directly to EastShore Medical's website where you can order everything together as a package.

(More customer reviews)This makes a great casual watch in addition to a heart monitor.Don't expect too much though.Strapless HRMs are not able to provide continuous heart rate like those that require a chest strap... so decide if the comfort of not wearing a chest strap is worth having to put your fingers on the watch for about 5 seconds to achieve a heart rate. To me it is.This is MIO's latest model (at the time of this review) and I believe that it is improved over some of the older models with regard to accuracy and obtaining a HR.I would give this 3.5 stars.When someone comes out with a strapless continual displaying HRM, then I will give that one 5 stars.

I am not overweight, and can still see my abdominal muscles; however, I have lost some definition. I know I am not near the 6% I used to be years ago, but a few months ago I manually tested @ 15.1%. I used this and I came in at 30%, which is way higher than I have ever tested.I know I did not add 15% body fat in 3 months. I am returning this tomorrow.

(More customer reviews)So I bought this as a gift to myself for Christmas and I think it's great. It's easy to use and the screen is HUGE so the reading is large and very easy to see. I'm not old but it's helpful to have things so simple! It comes with two cuffs too so in case you need a larger size it's already included.
The price is fair and all the features make it better than anything else I researched.
