(More customer reviews)Now, I have more than 300 pieces of Franciscan Apple dinnerware, including some highly collected pieces. Each piece of Apple china is handpainted and unique. The five-piece placesettings (10 3/4-Inch Dinner Plates, 8-Inch Salad Plates, 6-Inch Soup/Cereal Bowls, and Cups w/Saucers) are practical for everyday use because they are safe in the microwave oven, dishwasher, and may be warmed in a slow oven (225 degrees). There are pretty Franciscan Apple table linens, including placemats, napkins, and several sizes of tablecloths, that are available from Wedgwood. I also have used table linens in almond, dark green, and rust shades to complement this pattern. The Apple pattern is "open stock," which means you can continue to add many more pieces over the years, such as luncheon plates, side salads, and even matching glassware.

(More customer reviews)Being a blue and white china lover, never one to turn away roses, and a huge fan of Royal Albert, this moonlight roses pattern is a top favorite with me. The shades of blue with hints of blush roses and the greens of the leaves on the snowy white background with gold edging is just right Heavenly in my books. The pleasantly rounded shape of this china pattern lends a curved elegance that appeals to one's aesthetics, at least perfectly to my own. This tea set was a delight to bring home to add to my diverse tea party collection. The teapot itself was a little larger than other Royal Albert teapots that I have collected thus far. The size and shape were a more-than-pleasant surprise to unwrap and see.
The packing was perfection, the shipping quick. As always, thank you Amazon for making it so affordably easy to bring home such treasures to enjoy.

(More customer reviews)Granted this is a very specialized dish, but that is what makes it perfect for any Spode Christmas Tree collectors on your gift list. Undoubtedly they don't already own it.

I've read complaints from buyers because often the country of manufacture isn't listed in the description and the Spode pieces made in Malaysia do not compare to the ones made in England. Rest easy -- this piece is made in England and is absolutely lovely and whimsical with the Disney characters discretely incorporated into the classic design. This is a fun piece at a good price.

(More customer reviews)I've had this dinner ware for over a month now. No chipping or cracking. Normal use, dish washer, etc. I learned that porcelain is stronger than stoneware because of vitrification. These dishes are porcelain and have already outlasted the stoneware I had in terms of chipping, etc.

Besides the practical strength, these dishes are rhythmic---the design has flow and rhythm. The color is ethereal---sort of alters one's state of consciousness to use these dishes.

My only problem with them is that the color is such that it is difficult for me to choose tablecloths other than white or cream--but that is my failure of imagination, not the dishes. The dishes are inspired. And they do come in other colors, including white. But that lovely celadon blue...ahhh.

The pattern looks good but even though these dishes say England on the bottom, a sticker on each item says "Made in China."
