(More customer reviews)-Test Engineer
Report-
Design flaw in brake system: When the stroller is fully loaded with
2 babies, and all four rear wheel brake gear teeth are not
perfectly aligned to the locking pins, the brake locking mechanism
will not engage/extend to the lock position, no matter how hard the
user pulls on the brake cable. When this condition intermittently
occurs, the user must lift all four rear wheels off the ground
while pulling on the brake cable to allow the four rear wheels to
rotate freely and independently of each other, simultaneously
aligning each of the rear wheels gear teeth to the locking pins,
which allows the brake mechanism to engage/extend to the lock
position.Lifting all four rear wheels off the ground {while
preventing the front wheels from rolling} is unacceptable for users
that are not able to lift the weight of a fully loaded stroller,
which is the weight of the stroller itself plus the weight of two
babies plus the weight of any items in the cargo basket and diaper
bags/items that are attached to the handle bars.

(More customer reviews)My son has loved
this stroller from day one. We just took him to disneyland for the
weekend (he is four months old), and he never complained about
being in it, he even slept in it one night for about 7 hours! It is
very plush and smooth and I LOVE that the front wheel can swivel or
stay put. And the handle is adjustable which is great since my
husband is so much taller then I am. It is simple to manuver. Has
all accesories you coulde eveer need (except the cup holder which
doesn't bother me).The part that I don't like about this is the
weight, over 30 lbs! It is difficult to get up into the back of our
suv, and takes up a ton of room (it's a good thing we got the suv
and sold my sentra). It barely fits in my sisters car truck, and
only does so while scraching the bumper in the process! It has also
taken my husband and I a few months to get the hang of opening and
closing it smoothly. The basket is all but impossible to access if
the seat is reclined. If it weren't for the fact that my son LOVES
this stroller and that I do to once it is out of the car and opened
up, I would take it back. But I am keeping it for those days when I
know we are going to be gone all day and I want Myles to be
comfortable. For other shorter days, I am getting a lightweight
stroller that I can just throw in and go. So if weight and space
are not an issue for you, I would definitly reccommend this
stroller! (I also love the fact that I never see anyone else with
it, but always get compliments on it because it is so unique and
different)

(More customer reviews)After many in store
and online comparisons, we are so happy with our Bumbleride Indie.
We looked at many joggers- BOB's, City Mini, MacClaren's and even
considered the Bugaboo. This stroller is light for a jogger, has a
great basket that holds plenty of groceries, manuevers easily with
one had (especially while trying to get through doorways) and
handles the bumpy sidewalks of Philly great. The frame is really
solid and the carriage portion is solidily constructed with lightly
padded fabric, which I'm sure the little one will love when she is
big enough. Using the infant seat is really easy, as it just gets
belted in with the included attachment. The canopy is nice and big
and between it and the infant seat canopy I can completely cover
the baby if needed. The only negatives are that the cup holder is
in the way of the release latch to fold down the stroller, so it
takes getting use to, as does learning how to collapse the
stroller. After doing it a few times though, I have it down. I find
the key is to keep my foot on the brake as leverage. Also, I wish
the storage pouch had a zipper, as the pump and manual fall out of
it when it gets folded down. It doesn't fold down to be the most
compact stroller, but no joggers do, and if you really need it to
be compact you can remove the wheels to help. I think this is a
great jogger for the money. I have yet to use it as a jogger, as my
baby is only 2 months, but it seems like it will be great.

(More customer reviews)We researched LOTS
of strollers, and ended up buying this one. What a great
purchase!Yes, it's expensive...but I use it almost every day.It's
easy to fold up and un-fold.I love the handle extenders, too.I
didn't think I'd need them (I'm 5'8"), but I found myself kicking
the wheels on my way out of the grocery store the other day.A quick
push of the button, and presto!, the handles were longer.I love the
way my daughter (1 year old) sits in it like a regular seat
(although you can adjust the incline easily) and how the tray
easily snaps in and out of place. The break is easy to apply with 1
foot, and the wheels swivel to turn without effort (unless I lock
them) even when I'm only pushing the stroller with one hand
(because I'm carrying something in the other hand). The material is
really nice, too.

(More customer reviews)Words can't
describe how happy I am that we bought the Toro over other
strollers like the Bugaboo. We've discovered with time (our son is
now eight months old) just how ideal the Toro has been for us.
Having said that, though, I don't think it's ideal for everyone,
and in retrospect we were lucky to get the stroller that best fit
our needs: parents who live in a small, city apartment with a tiny
elevator, who navigate lots of pubic transportation, and who need
to open, close, and store the stroller in any number of places fast
and on the go.
PROS:
- Folds flat with nothing in the basket and locks into standing
position and stands on it's own that way. Ideal for small spaces,
hallways, or public places, like restaurants.
- Easy three-seat position for baby who wants to sit up or lie flat
(after four months)
- Can buy attachment for car seats by Graco or another company
(forget which one).
- Front wheels are wider and pull in when folding stroller. This
allows us to get through narrow openings without taking our child
out to fold up the stroller a bit. This has saved us, as our
apartment elevator us so narrow no other stroller fits through it
(we tried several). The stroller wasn't meant for this, but it
works well to partially fold for narrow spaces.
- Hot colors and even hotter animal print liners
- Rides great
- Easy up and down stairs with the inflated tires -- not like a
McClaren which is tough on this mom's arms.
- Awesome, awesome, awesome ease of folding (practically
one-handed) and getting into/out of cars, etc.
CONS:
- Can't turn seat around to face you (though the carseat
attachments are meant for facing you. But the regular seat for
older babies is not).
- Handlebar is comfy, but it'd be nice if designed for another way
to hold them (from underneath and not just over top)
- You can't put much weight on the back, or stroller tips over. The
company is clear about this, but it's still a pain. Having said
this, I've never found it to be that big of a deal. It never tips
over with the baby in it, even if I have a full diaper bag and
several shopping bags hanging there. And when I pull baby out, I
make sure that only the diaper bag is hanging on the back and that
the seat is lowered to recline, in which case it never tips over
empty, either.
- Basket could be better, but it's not bad at all. I have no
trouble getting shopping bags, purses, etc. in one side and down
into it.
- no parasol attachment. This stinks, because the sun shade is very
short. I bought one of those extra long ones to compensate, which
doesn't attach well, but it works. I hope the company is working on
this.
- The cross bar does not open or detach -- an annoyance when
getting baby in or out, but not too big of one. Just a silly
design.
Basically, the stroller has been a dream for us. We borrowed a
friend's Bugaboo before getting our Toro, and we found it a
nightmare to manage in the city and small apartment, especially
getting in and out of cars -- ugh! Such a bear to break down each
time. The Toro has been ideal for our needs, but I can't say it
would be so for everyone. If you have space to store a bigger
stroller and don't need to fold it up often, condsider other
strollers. However, if you're on the go and need something
cruise-y, cool, and easy to handle, this is your stroller.
Last note: If you get this stroller, the absolute best diaper bag
is one of Fleurville's narrower bags -- it hooks perfectly onto the
handlebars with its O-hooks. You can't cram it full of a million
things, but it easily fits two bottles, food, dipes, wipes, formula
or small pump, burp cloth and keys, ipod, etc. I have another
larger diaper bag for big trips or days out, but this one is
perfect for strolling.

(More customer reviews)I have the model
from last year (Metalica).I don't understand the reviews about this
stroller being hard to push and steer.I take my daughter out in it
with a dog in one hand and steering with the other.Perhaps those
reviewers have the wheel locks on by mistake? (There are locks on
the front wheels and the back). This stroller is fantastic if you
don't carry a load of stuff with you all the time, want something
lightweight, looks good, and is easy to maneuver. The only drawback
for me is that the sunshade is too small but for $15 I bought an
extender. Maybe this years model has a better one.

(More customer reviews)We own a bugaboo
frog and after 10 months have grown tired of taking it in and out
of the car. We instead started to use the Maclaren Volo however,
the Maclaren does not recline.
We recently got the Bee and LOVE it. It's far better than the Frog
because:
1) folds/unfolds into once piece
2) sun cannopy has much better coverage
3) lie flat so baby can sleep
4) fits small/large children better
5) taller handlebar (great for me as I'm 6 foot 3).
6) more convenient underseat storage
7) is much easier to use inside stores and buildings. The frog
can't even get into many stores in San Francisco, but the Bee goes
in just fine.
It has similar features in that it can
1) have baby sitting forward or towards you
2) has most of the same accessories
3) also works with car seats
We wish they came out with this a year ago as we would not have
gotten two strollers, but just this one.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this
stroller from Amazon and received it in a little more than a week.
Considering that I live overseas, that was outstanding shipping and
free with the Super Saver Shipping!!! The stroller is beautiful.
The pink color is not as intense as it seems in the picture, yet it
looks really nice. The stroller came with a rain cover, cup holder,
a regular bar, and separate tray for baby to put two cups (drink
and snack). The basket is a decent size, although other strollers
have bigger ones. I love the fact that the front wheels have the
lock system behind the wheel. I own a Chico stroller, which has the
lock system in the front and every time you bump into something, it
locks the wheels. The canopy can cover the baby completely and it
has a "window" to look at the baby. The stroller is lightweight and
it has an outstanding one hand closing mechanism. I owned an older
Inglesinaand always loved it, so I decided to get another one for
my new baby. I purchased the Compass I-420 car seat, which is
compatible with this stroller, and now have a travel system.
Although the stroller is a bit on the pricier side, I think it is
well worth it, as it can be used all through toddler years. The
stroller is really easy to steer. I LOVE it!

(More customer reviews)EDIT:
Well, the 2010 sure has some GREAT improvements. I wish my 2009 had
all that! But I still love it. I've tried and tested many
strollers. I even bought a couple online and returned them because
Bumbleride is just The best, The most luxurious drive your kids can
get :)
Here is what my husband and I love the most about it:
(NOTE: We owned a single BOB stroller and a friend has double one,
thats why I will compare it to BOB often)
- smooth ride, easy to push. Air filled tires make it really easy
to push. It's all terrain stroller so we have no problem at all to
push it on grass, bark etc.
- soft comfortable high quality fabric - stroller cover. Many other
strollers feel like the seats are made from some plastic rough hot
material. Not Bumbleride.
- The greatest basket ever! I walk to town often and buy groceries.
I get like 5 plastic bags full of stuff and it all fits! and it's
still very easy to push! The basket is also very easily accessible
because of the way it's made - GENIUS! I saw BOB basket and it's
really small and the sides are tall so it's hard to reach in.
- Adjustable handle. My 2 year old loves to push the stroller! I
can adjust the handle to her size!
- Seat recline to almost flat. Also my kids like to sit up rights
and see around. My baby hated the BOB stroller because the sides
are wide and the seat is not up right so she could never see
anything and tried to lean forward and look around always.
Bumbleride is so open, they never complain!
- BUMBLERIDE DOUBLE FITS THROUGH THE STANDARD DOORS! Now this is
rare :) For example BOB double stroller doesn't fit. I don't
actually know any other side by side stroller that also fits.
- It looks very cool and unique. I get compliments ALL THE TIME!
People ask what kind of stroller it is always!. ORIGINAL
REVIEW:
- SO easy to push around, turn; very smooth ride because of the air
filled tires but they are not so huge like many other all-terrain
(jogging) strollers have.
- Ok, it is wide but not as wide as BOB, for example. It's actually
pretty narrow for a double stroller but it still have very roomy
seats! We went to Safeway and Walgreens and haven't had any
problems. It fit through every door.
- The seats seem so comfortable, very soft and padded. Everything
is removable and washable.
- It has 2 front wheels which, I believe, makes it more stable. All
the other all terrain double strollers have only 1 front wheel.
- Car seat adapter (and rain cover) included! Usually you have to
spend extra money to buy accessories.
- My babies love it! I had BOB single stroller before. I don't like
jogging but I bought it because I couldn't find any other good all
terrain stroller. My baby never really liked it because she always
had to lie back so much. Bumbleride is so open and she can sit up
and she loves looking around!
- You can use it with the car seat! Universal car seat adapter
included. My other baby who is only 2 weeks old sleeps in her Graco
Snugride car seat when we walk around and the Bumbleride smooth
ride makes her comfortable and happy :)
- HUGE basket makes life a lot easier especially when I walk to the
grocery store and back home with lots of groceries! (or when I put
my big diaper bag and other things in it).
- It looks COOL, expensive, durable, UNIQUE! So many people have
asked me what kind of stroller it is. I love buying unique products
;)It's not a jogging stroller but it is great for occasional
jogging.

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I have owned and
used the Sweetpeace for a little over three months now, waiting to
write a review until I got to know it well.
I have a ten-year-old son.When I entered the market for baby
products once again in 2008, I was amazed at how much more
complicated things were. When a simple, battery powered open-top
swing was the best you could get in 1998, a "Soothing Center" that
promised everything next to changing the baby's diaper was on the
market now!I was cynical about it all, but must admit that many of
the features on this product claimed to make improvements to issues
that I remembered learning by trial and error with baby #1 could
use improvement.I decided to try it out as the one big nicety of my
baby gear shopping.
First of all, the pros:
~ To address other reviews, I hear no difference between the motor
noise on this and what I remember my battery powered Graco open-top
swing sounding like.If it uses electricity, it will make some type
of sound.Perhaps varying factors could affect this, I don't know,
but mine is almost silent.
~ I find the music/white noise sounds to be wonderful; rich in
sound with decent variation in selection.Someone mentioned as a con
to this product that "Flight of the Bumblebee" (one of the song
choices) was not a soothing song.It isn't supposed to be; despite
the name of the product, not everything on it is there to lull a
baby. There are two music buttons. One has slow, soothing music. The
other plays upbeat, fun songs which one would use at a non-sleeping
time (unless your kid can sleep through anything, like mine thus
far).
~ Some have mentioned the volume being only a choice between loud
and louder.I disagree! The lowest setting is hard for me to hear it
on (and yes, even when my ten-year-old is away at school)! The loud
is LOUD, though.Probably too loud for baby when IN the seat. But
I've played baby's music for her while we play, and MY music
through it while I clean. The sound is clear and rich...almost Bose
worthy.
~ The white noise button has fantastic detail. For example, the
mother's heartbeat choice not only has a heartbeat, but also the
'swishing' noise of the liquid activity the baby would have
probably heard in the womb, as well.I own a few things that mimic
my heartbeat for baby, but that is a first.
~ On a last note regarding sound, you are not limited to an I-pod
if you want to plug-in to play your own MP3s, either; anything that
uses a 3.5mm plug works.I've used my Rio MP3 player an even my
laptop.Nice touch in a world where it's getting all too rare to
find a product that gives more than a designated I-Pod docking
station.
~ The control pad, by the way, is great.Intuitive buttons, backlit
with a non-intrusive blue light. When you turn the swing/sounds off,
it remembers your setting next time (i.e., if you had the speed set
on four, four will be what it defaults to when you press the on
button next time).
~ As others have stated, the Sweetpeace plugs in to the wall. That
right there sold me, as batteries for my old open-top swing
practically sent me to the poor house ten years ago.Unfortunately,
the vibration on the seat still uses a D battery. However, that is
necessary as the seat comes off to use other places and allow for a
Graco Infant Carrier to be placed for use on the swing.
~ Being able to make the seat face backward, foward, right or left
as well as in three different recline positions brings MUCH variety
for baby.Just when mine seems to get sick of one view/movement, a
new position of the chair makes it like a whole new swing.Sanity
saver.
Now, though few, I count these as cons:
~ Some of the selling points for this product are gimmicky, in my
opinion.Their idea of you sleeping with the swaddling blanket to
give it your smell for baby is a sweet one.But my smell is already
on much stuff she's near often, namely ME.The swaddle blanket was
too cumbersome and small for use with my baby, anyhow...and she is
small-ish as babies go...in the 30th percentile in baby size for
her age (seven pounds at birth). The teddy bear looking head
support (though adorable) was too big for my newborn's head and
kind of got in the way.We took it out and used two tightly rolled
security blankets on each side of her body to support her instead.I
recently gave the head support another chance now that she's
bigger. Now it places her neck/head in an uncomfortabe position.
~ It isn't easy to move around the room like I did with the old
swing.I have a small living room with lots of furniture to maneuver
around, so that tends to be an issue for me.If you are tight on
space and need to move the swing to another location in the room in
order to store/use it, take that into consideration. It feels very
sturdy though, which puts one's mind at ease.
~ The other bother is the lame attempt at activity toys for
baby.Mine is only three months old and is already bored. The toy bar
consists of a mirror with a rattle that can't be held, and a
teether that can't be chilled and will probably still be way too
fat for my baby's mouth in six months.Oh, and a third spot that
looks like it should have a toy, but which actually has/does
nothing.I usually just remove the toy bar all together (maybe that
will change when she is older). However, when you remember that this
is not an Exersaucer--it's a swing--that drawback is a small
one.
This swing is not perfect, but comes very close to it.I was
hesitant to buy it, but am very glad I took a chance.

About Graco
In 1942, Russell Gray and Robert Cone formed Graco Metal Products,
in Philadelphia, PA. For 11 years, the firm fabricated machine and
car parts for local manufacturers. In 1953, Gray left the firm,
leaving Cone as sole owner. Cone decided to manufacture his own
line of products, but had trouble coming up with ideas. Enter David
Saint, an engineer, tinkerer, and stained glass artisan who worked
for Graco. Saint, himself a father of nine, was intrigued when an
associate told him how his wife would soothe their tired and cranky
baby while swinging in a backyard glider swing. Acting on this
inspiration, he went to the drawing board and 18 months of hard
work later, the world's first wind-up infant swing, the Graco
Swyngomatic, was born. Graco sold millions of Swyngomatics in the
coming years, becoming one of the world's leading manufacturers of
juvenile products in the process. Today, Graco is a Newell
Rubbermaid company, with 1500 associates worldwide. While a
half-century has brought many changes to Graco, their dedication
and commitment to designing and manufacturing top-quality products
remains, and continues on.
