Eddie Bauer Deluxe 3-in-1 Car Seat Review

EddieBauerDeluxe3-in-1CarSeat
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We've had this seat since our son went forward facing at 26 lbs and 1 year old. He's turning 3 in about a week.It is not legal for our state to have him in a booster seat at this time, but he has already outgrown BOTH the harness weight limit (40 lbs) and the harness height restriction (15.5"ish torso).

So, if your kid is anywhere near the top of the curve for height/weight or both - you need a different seat. When he's old enough (4 years old) to use the seat as a booster that'll work, but the seat I'm going to have to buy now (and should have bought in the first place - Graco's Nautilus) will also be a booster.

The Nautilus has a 65 lb. harness weight limit and the torso height (NOT OVERALL HEIGHT) limit is 18.5"ish.So by the time my son's TORSO grows another 2 inches (not sure how many inches of torso growth translate to overall height growth), he'll definitely be at least 4 and legal for a booster.

If I'd only known....

Kolcraft Universal Infant Car Seat Carrier Review

KolcraftUniversalInfantCarSeatCarrier
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have a Graco Snug Ride II carseat...I selected this stroller frame because I had a gift certificate that covered the cost of it so it would be free.

Upon assembly, we attempted to attach the car seat to the stroller frame. The instructions made it look like the back part of the car seat should snap onto the frame. Our car seat does not.

Called customer service, got a prompt friendly associate on the phone who informed me that Graco Snugride II will not snap onto this frame, but that the safety strap should adequately secure the seat to the frame.

So for that, I take away one star.

However, the other four stars are well deserved. Here's why:
1. It fits in the trunk of my Honda Civic with room to spare.
2. It is lightweight.
3. You truly CAN open and close it with one hand, LOVE THIS!!
4. The ride is SMOOTH regardless of terrain.
5. The handle is just right for a 5 ft 2 mom.No back strain or arm tiredness from improper height.
6. The basket on the bottom is SPACIOUS and easy to access.Big ole diaper bag and Mom's purse fit nicely.
7. The parent tray is spacious and holds keys.

As for a recommendation, I am on the fence.I would prefer for the seat to snap onto the frame, this still bothers me.However, all the other features are important and work well for this product, including availability of customer service to quickly answer questions. So I would say I am 51% leaning towards a "Would Recommend" for the Kolcraft Universal Car Seat Carrier...

Eddie Bauer Complete Care Play Yard, Stonewood Review

EddieBauerCompleteCarePlayYard,Stonewood
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I got this play yard as a gift and before i had my son i loved it but once he arrived i realized a few things that were kind of irritating about it first off the bassinet part does not lay completely flat it is kind of like a bowl he would always slide to the middle of it. The changing table part didnt last long once he started getting weight on him it would bend downward. the mobile is manual so you have to turn it by hand and it only goes for about 1 min. But as a play yard it was great I just wish they would have spent more time on the extras oh and on the picture here it looks like it has a skirt on the bottom mine did not have this.

I'Coo Targo Stroller and Pram Review

I'CooTargoStrollerandPram
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We purchased this stroller mainly because we wanted to be able to see our 6 month old daughter and were not willing to spend $1000 on a bugaboo. Here is what we discovered.

PROS:
1. very sturdy
2. easy to handle
3. comfortable inside due to padding

CONS:
1. bulky and heavy (and I have an SUV and it takes up almost the whole trunk). If you travel, there is zero room for your luggage.
2. not easy to fold and unfold, the latch gest stuck, too many steps to fold and unfold as you have to turn the handle inside, make sure the footrest is straight otherwise it stick out and you can see it in the rear vew mirror
3. wobbly when facing towards you
4. handle bar does not stay put and creates a potential hazard for the baby
5. buckle- if you are considering this stroller- hear me out on this one. it takes two people and a LOT of patience to buckle your baby in this stroller. THis is a 3 part process, during which you or the baby will be screaming from frustration (sometimes both at the same time). When you try to do the side buckles, the middle will come off and vice versa.
6. CANOPY is way too small. If you live in a sunny state (like CA), this is a no-go. As you recline the seat to put the baby to sleep, the canopy reclines with it leaving you baby fully exposed to the sun. THere is no blanket large enough to cover it, and frankly you shouldn't have to need one after spending $600 on a stroller!
7. no accessories- no cupholder or anything!

Overall, we are VERY disappointed with this stroller. I have spend unspeakable amount of time researching the strollers, and am now considering Maclaren Grand Tour- excellent reviews, easy fold, light and reversible. And it has a HUGE canopy. Yes, it is $1000, but I am tired of fighting with Icoo for two months!

I've chosen this playard over the Graco, because I wanted to try something new and the portable tray tempted me. This result to be very useful to organize diapers and other baby's stuff. Apart from that I didn't like it. It's difficult to set up , because it the sides don't stay in their place. It's a couple of inches smaller thPlan the graco playard and not as sturdy. I would not buy this item again.

Boppy Happy Place Playard Review

BoppyHappyPlacePlayard
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We received this as a baby shower gift from my mom. It's a great play yard, I love that it is gender neutral, and I love that it isn't bright blue or pink like some of the other play systems out there. Also, the Boppy is very sturdy.

This review only gets 4 stars for one thing: the instructions on set-up.Thinking I was going to be a nice wife, I asked my husband to please set it up while he watched golf on a Sunday afternoon. Two hours later, my father-in-law and my husband were still trying to make the sides latch correctly to make the thing stand up!They were exceptionally frustrated. We went to Babies R Us to see if the folks there could tell us what we were doing wrong - four sales associates couldn't make the play yard set up, either! Finally, I called Boppy customer service on Monday, and all was revealed. It IS REALLY simple to set up, folks... but you have to know "the trick."In the very bottom of the play yard floor, there is a fabric loop that sticks out of a hole. This loop is attached to the floor locking mechanism. If ANY part of the floor is already locked, then the sides will NEVER lock into place. The thing is, you MUST lock the short sides first. So, start over, pull up on that fabric loop to disengage the floor, (pull it almost until it's even with the rails) and THEN pull up on the side rails (short sides first, then long). You will find that (unless there was a manufacturing error), the sides lock simply and beautifully.

I can set this thing up (with my big pregnant belly) in less than 5 minutes, all by myself. And, as said before, it's sturdy and seems to be well-made. They just need to be more clear with the instructions.Would highly recommend this system, now that we know how it works!Lightweight, good construction.

UPDATE - Our son is now almost 3 months old.We use this as our bassinet in our bedroom until he is old enough to be trusted through the night in his big crib in the nursery. It is awesome. We hauled it with us to visit all the grandparents for Christmas/New Year's, and it is very easy to haul, easy to pack, and easy to set up.Graco Pack N'Play sheets fit on it very well, and we use the quilted Graco sheets on the Boppy for extra comfort.

We bought this chair 6 months ago when our son started eating cereal. I do home childcare, so we've seen alot of highchairs & boosters in my 9 years of doing this. This seat is nice because it's small but very roomy. Has few parts that will break. Is made well. Reclines. Has a machine washable seat pad. Dishwasher safe tray with big sides to help retain "windshield wiper" kid hands. I love this seat and can't recommend highly enough. I'd say the only thing missing is a 1-hand release button for the tray. But in my prior experiences, that & the seat pad are the first things that break.

Safety 1st Air Protect Complete Convertible Car Seat, Silverleaf Review

Average Reviews:

At the end of the day we have a carseats to protect out children.Convience and ease of use is important, but nothing matters more than keeping our children safe.A few days ago my car spun out 360degrees and flipped, landing upside down in the woods off the highway. After crawling to the back I easily removed my child and got him out of the car.Amazingly he didn't have a scratch bump or bruise on him.The police commended the instalation (which I did myself following the directions, it took me about 30mins to get right the first time, after I got the hang of it, it was a five minute process, which we have done often because we move it between two cars)
Several days now after the accident, he is as happy as ever, showing no signs of any physical trauma(he did have a chest x-ray at the hospital)

I have kept my child rear facing even though he is 15months, It was one of the things I liked about this carseat was you could keep them rearfacing longer. While rearfacing the carseat does take up a lot of room and my husband doesn't like sitting in the seat in front of it because it squished his legs (small price to pay for safety).I have never had a problem with buckling my son into or out of the seat or adjusting it to his size.

For me this carseat passed the ultimate test. I am so thankful for it and we will be loyal users for a long time

I ordered this stroller to keep at my house so my kids didn't have to drag their bigger stroller in the car when they bring my twin grandsons to visit. It is very much as advertised. The babies were very comfortable in it and we used it several times. It is somewhat difficult to fold, however I think that is a function of it being new and it will get better with use.It is also ALOT heavier than one would expect from an umbrella type stroller. That isn't a problem for me, and it contributes to the stroller feeling more substantial and stronger than a usual umbrella stroller.Overall, a good purchase for what I needed. It fits fine through standard store doorways as well, a real plus.

Evenflo Symphony Convertible Car Seat with SureLATCH Review

EvenfloSymphonyConvertibleCarSeatwithSureLATCH
Average Reviews:

We got this seat to replace the Evenflo Titan 5, whose leg straps were too tight around our son's legs.I compared reviews and features of the Symphony with a number of other seats, and was initially very pleased with it.It was easy to install and seemed that it would serve us for a long time.My son (2 1/2, 36 inches, 28 pounds) also said initially that it was more comfortable than the Titan.

However, the first time we went on a trip longer than twenty minutes, he complained that something was hurting his neck. When I checked, I found that the red tab on the shoulder straps was cutting into the side of his neck.I wrapped some spare gloves around them, but they worked their way out in the course of ten minutes.Without them, the straps hurt him so much he started trying to wriggle his arms out of them; when I tightened them enough that he couldn't get his arm underneath, he started screaming that something was hurting his bottom. When I checked, I found that underneath the cushion the plastic X-shaped structure with a beam through the middle (securing the SureLatch straps in the FF position) could be clearly felt through the cushion. It actually left a reddened indentation on his bottom that turned into a bruise the next day.

We are returning this carseat, and I urge everyone to look carefully at the frame underneath the cushions of any seat you're considering.Carseats should not cut and bruise the children they're meant to protect.

Cosco Ambassador Belt Positioning Backless Booster Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this at my local WalMart for 17 dollars.I bought it for my mother in laws car and figured it would be fine since she almost never has my daughter in my car. It was cheaply made and you could tell just by the look (for 17 dollars I didn't expect much more though). My main concern, though, was that there was not a seat belt positioner. The booster is not high enough to boost her up to where the seat belt wasn't across her neck/chin.My daughter is 5, 43 pounds, and is 3'6".She would have to be at leat 3'10" for the seatbelt to be appropriate for her.I took it back and bought the Graco No Back Turbo Booster. It was only 23.99 and was much sturdier and didn't have that cheap look and feel. Most important was that I was able to adjust the seat belt to put it right where it belongs.
