(More customer reviews)I bought this for my wife who is an avid seamstress.It turned out to be a nice little item that is exactly as described here.It plays a nice tune, Buttons and Bows, and has a semi-operating sewing machine that turns along with the tune.I did notice that the workmanship left a little to be desired.There were some minor scratches on the sewing machine and some of the screws that retain the music maker were over tightened and left an indentation in the wood.Not enough to really detract from the overall impression, but noticeable.Overall I give it four stars - a nice item, almost heirloom quality but for workmanship issues.Interestingly, the provider would not ship the item until I let them know that it was a music box and not a working sewing machine!Whatever!I like it.My wife likes it.You will like it too.

I have since ran lots of stuff through it (stuff I didn't intend to eat) trying to grind off all the paint, but still I see paint flakes. The grinder is prominently stamped "MADE IN CHINA" and if you've heard about Chinese-made dog food, toys, even baby food, you know what kind of crap could be in those paint flakes.

This is a dangerous product and should not be used for any kind of food, not even dog food. I am going to report it to the Consumer Products Safety Commission.

After using this steam press for 4 loads of mixed family laundry I am truly impressed. At first, I had to get used to placing the items on the press correctly, but once I learned how, my husband's pants took only 4 presses to get professional looking results. The secret to cutting the number of presses on thick clothing down is to use the water bottle in addition to the steam from the press. On my children's clothes, 2 presses on one side of the fabric is all that is required. I love this machine, and my husband was sceptical at first for spending over $200, but after he saw his pants and shirts neatly pressed, he agreed that it was a purchase worth while.

This steam press makes my life a lot easier.I can press both sides of an item at one time.I can put a crease in that lasts all day.

It takes some time to get used to putting items on the press.I don't really use the steam much, but I use the squirt bottle all the time.Sometimes I placed an item so it developed a crease somewhere I didn't want it.Just squirt and repress.

Unlike regular ironing where you work on a small portion at a time, this does half a shirt or a whole pants leg at a time.Proper placement and smoothing it out before pressing is VERY important or else you repeat.
I usually count to about 8 and it is done.
Most shirts take four presses of 8 seconds each.Half the shirt twice and the sleeves.Pants, hmm, I am still working on the alignment thing.Usually I am pressing the pants flat, meaning seam to seam, then folding to put the crease down the leg.

You will burn yourself.My boyfriend gave me cut resistant gloves and cut the finger tips out on the palm side to help me do the alignment thing.It opens like a clamshell.The front side is about 10" open and the back end is only about 2-3" open.It is very easy to bump the top with your hand, which is the heated part, in the process of lying clothes on it.I also wear long sleeves.AND pants or shorts.It sits about four inches lower than my fully raised ironing board since I also got the stand.Perfect for sitting,While standing, well, I am tall so it is right at my crouch level.I haven't experienced it but I heard a man who stated that he accidentally caught his "stuff" in it.So, I don't use it naked.

SEI Laminate Wheeled Sewing Table, White Review

(More customer reviews)First, let me say that over the course of 35 years, I've assembled dozens of pieces of furniture:bookcases, desks, other sewing machine tables, media centers, etc.I expected to have no problems assembling this.

Boy, was I wrong.

Let me back up a little.I really wanted to give this table a good review.It's a nice design:good size, useful features.It's just that in translating the design to the real world, the manufacturer really screwed up.

I knew I was in for trouble when I discovered that, in a couple of instances, the assembly sheet bore little resemblance to the pieces I actually had;most particularly, in the predrilled hole markings.An accurate drawing is sometimes the only way you can tell if you've got a large square piece oriented correctly.Frankly, I had to do more than a little guessing.Extremely annoying.

Worse, the hardware choices were downright poor.The whole thing should have been assembled with cam locks:easy, quick, sturdy, and for the five of them that *were* used, smooth white plastic covers were provided for a finished look.Unfortunately, the bulk of the table assembles with a bolt-and-T-bar combination that's not nearly as sturdy.Three of the metal T-bars broke in half, if you can believe that;whatever metal was used was cheap and crumbly.I ended up jury-rigging a fastening for the three bolts, rather than write to the manufacturer for more T-bars that would likely break as easily as the first ones.No white covers were provided for the bolts, so all these big dark bolt-heads stand out against the white.

The bolts for the casters weren't long enough to be safely used;two of the nuts wouldn't fasten on at all, but kept spinning around.In any case, and after my experience with the T-bars, I'm not sure I trust the strength of the metal used in the bolts.If I decide to put the casters on, I'll be paying a visit to the hardware store for some decent steel bolts and wing nuts.Right now, the table sits directly on my wooden floor and is easy enough to move.

*sigh*Like I said:I like the design of this table.It has a nice big drop leaf that's handy for working with lots of fabric.The lower shelf is a perfect size for stashing away my paint box and a few sewing accessories, and in general, I'm going to get a lot of use out of it.But would I buy it again, knowing what I know now?And would I recommended it?

No.For $130, look elsewhere.

The thread stand is much larger than I anticipated. I suppose it would work but it's too big for my use. It's gray in color..I know, a bit picky but I prefer the white thread holders that are smaller and fit behind the machine. Will be returning it.

(More customer reviews)I needed a good quality machine for very regular (4+ hour/day) sewing when I bought this.It has not let me down.It did break when I tried (not on purpose!) sewing through 1/4" of metal. The service people at Sears are great at fixing these and I had it back good as new.

My FAVORITE feature of this machine is the push button available (not required) to start and stop the sewing and the speed control.It makes it easy to get a nice even stitch and makes it possible to sew in places where you don't have much space.I can even sew on the floor since I don't need my foot out for the foot pedal.This would also be very handy for a paralyzed individual without the use of legs.

The stitches are more utilitarian than they are decorative but they serve their purposes well.

The machine is nice and heavy which keeps it from bouncing around on the table when sewing.Very important.And all the gears are made of metal.This machine will last forever.

(More customer reviews)I bought these chairs for a Christmas present for my Wife.When we opened the boxes and removed the chairs from the boxes, we noticed a significant amount of damage on the legs caused mainly by shipping.At closser inspection, we also found poor craftmanship such as excessive glue on some of the joints, as well as the bolts that were sent were not long enough to fasten the front legs. I e-mailed the factory and after sending several pictures of the problems that have agreed to take the chairs back.I am waiting for them to send me a return shipping lable which they agreed to do but have not received it yet.I certainly will not purchase any additional items from this vendor.
