Well, that statement in and by itself is a belief. As if there were only one truth about beliefs.
It is really what we believe is it not?
This is a an interesting yet complicated subject.
Who were are, what beliefs we have absorbed and assimilated as our own has an enormous effect upon our lives, our jobs and our relationships.
The beliefs we hold control our lives to some extend. Many feel trapped and stuck in their situations as if there were no way out.
The reality of this is, you do have control over this. Control over your beliefs
Of course there again, this can be confusing. We have created our reality largely based upon our beliefs, many of which were gifted to us by others, our friends, parents, families, teachers, peers.
All the people who we have come into contact with in our lives. This all started when we were born, and some believe even before that. So the early formative years set the path for us.
Are Some Beliefs Good or Bad?
Generally, no. They are just beliefs and we assign good or bad values to them.
These can be empowering yet likely many are of a critical reinforcement such as we are not good enough, we are bad, stupid, etc.
We can take a whole lifetime in trying to overcome some of these negative beliefs. Compounding the situation is the fact that we hold positive and negative beliefs on the same subject. Such as money is good, money is the root of all evil, money can buy you things, only greedy people want money, etc.
The reality is, money is none of this. It really is just a concept turned into something that was created by a human being. What we believe about it is just that, a belief.
So like any of our beliefs, we can change this. If we find our self-talk putting ourselves down or focusing on a negative, we can cancel that and put forward a positive believe. Such as “Money is good, it can buy me the things I need and to help myself and others.”
An example of this may be, you catch yourself thinking, I hate myself. Cancel that right away!!!
Say instead I love myself, or if you cannot go there just yet, say I like myself or I am trying to become a better person.
As we increase our awareness and pay attention to our beliefs, we can see which ones are not serving us well, and change them and replace them with ones that do serve us and what we wish to have or project. This takes patience, dedication and practice.
Believe and know that you are worthy and worthy of having a good life, a good job, a good relationship. YOU DESERVE IT! Keep saying that over and over again until you believe it.
You can use affirmations to help you deal with this. Create the beliefs that you want and believe that you can create the life that you want and that you deserve.
You can change your beliefs around a certain relationship. You can decide to make it better if that is what you wish to do. Or you can decide to change or end that relationship if it is not serving you well.
Are you ill and do you focus on that or are you focusing on dis-creating that and creating better or perfect health.
Focus on what you wish to create, the kind of life you wish to have. NOT on what you do not have or do not want.
I realize this is a big topic and books, courses, seminars, motivators and self-help “gurus” have touched on this topic many times. There are some excellent tools to help you deal with these issues. They key is to start somewhere, taking it one step at a time.
One book I found particularly effective and I would even suggest, transformational, is Eckhart Tolle’s, Practicing The Power of Now.
Speaking of beliefs, my son Marc, made a creative fresh
lemon pie for Christmas. I not only believe it was good, I
know it. Ah but that knowing is for another time and
place.
If you find this subject interesting or not, please leave a comment and tell me what you believe about beliefs.
Beliefs, You Can Change Your Life is a post from: Creative Waves
Howdy folks.
Yep, still here although the Mt Doug did attack me yesterday. They got some mighty hard and tough boulders up there with some slick moss and dirt covered slopes. I was more concerned for my camera, of course.
This site seems to be loading slowly. I am going to change servers so it may be down for awhile. Not too long but I don’t see that as much of an issue.
Not a slope but one of the moss covered trees and there are plenty of them up there.
Be back later to check on things.
keep those cards and letters coming.
Staying Alive, Perhaps I Should Say Still Alive is a post from: Creative Waves
In the previous post presented here Katie Melua was introduced. Not that she needs an introduction although it seems she is not as well know to folks on this side of the pond. Of course, this can change in a hurry.
Just Like Heaven is also appropriate to describe her singing and performance. Words are never enough so best to view and listen to it here: Katie Melua Just Like Heaven
Some think the following video is a bit strange in a weird sort of way. Perhaps it is and certainly it is creative, so appropriate to present it here on creative waves blog. I suggest looking beyond the “strangeness” if that is what you think. Katie Melua I Cried For You.
Ok, I have a dilemma. I wanted to present another video but have several in mind but only wish to have three presented at one time.
Here is one
with the end of the world in mind. Katie Melua, If The Lights Go
Out. Beauty!
Well I am not so much concerned with that but I do like the singing of this young woman.
If you feel the same about Katie Melua please feel free to leave a comment.
Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there, to everyone who has ever had a father, to give thanks even if it is one half of the equation for your being here today.
Sing on!

Katie Melua Encore is a post from: Creative Waves
Normally I would like to present Canadian artists here. However, I came across this artist by chance, if there is such a thing, while looking for a song on Youtube, Blowing in the Wind, Joan Baez and Bob Dylan.
Here is a bit from Wikipedia about Katie Melua:
Ketevan “Katie” Melua (Georgian: ??????? “????” ?????
listen (help·info), English pronunciation: /?m?lu?.?/ ; born 16 September 1984) is a Georgian-British singer, songwriter and musician. She moved to Northern Ireland at the age of eight and then to England at fourteen.[2] Melua is signed to the small Dramatico record label, under the management of composer Mike Batt,[3] and made her musical debut in 2003. In 2006, she was the United Kingdom’s bestselling female artist[4] and Europe’s highest selling European female artist.[5]
Ok so there is a Canadian connection, although I have not tracked it down yet.
Melua speaks Georgian, Russian and English fluently and is partly of Canadian[19] and Russian ancestry.[
So that makes this a Canadian story, albeit a rather distant one. I was amazed at Katie’s version of Blowing In The Wind. It is very good and she imparts and conveys a ton of meaning into the song. This young woman is a beautiful and amazing talent.
After viewing and listening to that song I just had to check out some of her other songs. Words cannot adequately describe the magic of this music.
Here is The Closest Thing To Crazy by Katie Melua:
Well there are other popular ones, still I kind of like this one. It is called Thank You Stars.
A very special soul with an awesome voice.
Going to come back again with some more of Katie, perhaps on another day soon.
Best wishes to all and thank you Katie Melua.

Well here is a new poem I have etched out, poem or something. Could be half a song. Who knows. I just write this stuff once in awhile, sometimes on a whim. Sometimes nothing for a very long time.
I usually place them in the poetry section but right now I cannot locate my sitemap so for now here is where it goes.
You Make me Drunk, Drunk as a Skunk
I had a
dream that you were next to me there
Next thing I knew you were pulling my hair
All I could do is grimace and stare
Underneath it all you were definitely bare.
Go Here for the rest of
I do have some photos to post but will save that for later. I cannot find a photo for You Make Me Drunk, Drunk As A Skunk. I just have a photo of my pet frog. Noisy little froggie he is, once he starts a croaking. He lives in the neck of my watering can as I found out one day. Ok you talked me into it. Here is FROGGIE! Well tell me a better name, ok?
Cheers,
Eugene
You Make Me Drunk, Drunk as a Skunk is a post from: Creative Waves
Once in awhile I get feedback at times about how something I have said or presented which has been inspiring to someone. The payoff for that is not monetary and sure the ego is involved. In this sense the ego is a good thing. As long as I don’t let it get out of hand that part of the ego can serve me well. It does not happen that often so it really is not difficult to keep the ego in check!
People do feel good if they are able to help someone else, not in an enabling kind of way, just by being, planting a seed or two, providing an idea or a way for someone to have something make a difference to them.
There are many inspirational things being presented online. I imagine many do not know about them or where to find them. Sometimes things just come to us, drop into our laps or hit us over the head to wake us up when we need it. We may be thinking about something, looking for something and the message or the messenger suddenly appears with what we have been asking for.
Being open to all possibility can bring synchronicities, coincidences and the like to us seemingly out of nowhere. Or what I sometimes like to refer as nothing. No Thing. That brings to mind. “Where does creativity really come from?” This is not an easy question to answer. I’ll touch a bit more on this later.
I have been listening to some of the talks and such on TED. See the link I’ve added on the left hand side of this blog. There are some remarkable and inspirational talks and music presented there. I knew of TED before and had not been there for some time. Something recently pointed me in that direction once again. I think it was when I was exploring something about Stephen Hawking and his quest about life and the theory of how the Universe came about. In any case it is all about synchronicity, coincidence and such.
Back to the TED site. One amazing talk that really stood out for me is:
Many of us have heard idea and concept “do what you love and the money will follow” or something similar. The first part of that phrase is the important part and the second part is just a bonus should it come.
This talk by Steve Jobs can be viewed on YouTube.
I was really moved by this talk and what it meant. It is so powerful and evokes emotions as well as bringing awareness to things we do not really know before hand and discover the significance later on. Sometimes what we feel are the most adverse and difficult things, out of that can come our finest moments. It we accept and allow them to happen. That is not an easy thing to do. We can easily become stuck in our creations and in the muck that we find ourselves in.
If encourage you to explore the TED site and find some gems of your own over there. It is well worth the trip, IMO.
I will be back later to talk a bit more about creativity and such. I could add more now but I feel this is is powerful enough on its own to let it sift and simmer within us.
May your creations be many and serve you well.

Synchronicity, Coincidences, Ego and Powerful Creations is a post from: Creative Waves
I took a little trek up Mt Work awhile ago on a Sunday for some exercise, to see if it was was still the same as I recalled it and to experience and enjoy the beauty and magnificence that is there. I had been there once before. On another website I read that the elevation is 2238 feet or 682 metres. For sure there are quite a few steps to the Summit.
Location: Mount Work Park, Saanich, Victoria, Vancouver Island BC A 536-hectare Mount Work Regional Park bordering on Gowlland Tod Provincial Park, situated in the Highlands area of the Saanich Peninsula.
Along the way I met several groups of people including some young bucks huffing, puffing and sweating the climb up. Although I would describe myself in better condition this time than I was when I climbed it before, it surely did not feel like it! It is quite a steady climb up and up. A few spots level off and you go down a bit and that makes you think you have already reached the top but keep on going as that is just to fool you into thinking you have made it there. I managed to get off the beaten track for awhile and that was interesting and a bit exhausting as I worked myself back to the path. As if the climb itself was not enough.
Here is a clue to let you know you have finally reached the summit. It even comes with it’s own naked tree. I figure that is appropriate to keep it company way up there.
Near the summit are many naked trees, aka Arbutus trees. I call them naked trees because most of them are as they lose their bark and underneath. They are so soft and smooth to the touch. From Wikipedia:
Arbutus is a genus of at least 14 species of flowering plants in the family Ericaceae, native to warm temperate regions of the Mediterranean, western Europe, and North America.
These trees meander all over the place and are quite exotic and some even erotic. Well hey, naked limbs all over the place. This reminds me of one of my poems entitled My Friend. Similarities exist between the two but this was written from a different place and time quite a few years ago.
The view from way up near the summit is truly spectacular. It is well worth the trek up the mountain. You feel (the) spirit in all things and being part of it all and all there is.
Yes, the scenery around here is majestic, spectacular and varied from mountains, rain forest, mild climate and the sea. Is there any wonder I feel blessed to live in such a wonderful place! That really is not a question at all.
May you be so blessed today and everyday.

Mt Work Gets Me Working and Then Some is a post from: Creative Waves
Sometimes and that could many times, relationships do not make sense. That applies in a logical way for the most part. I could have presented the song and video on that called “It’s Complicated.“
So in the previous post I mentioned
something about the clutter etc so. That brings me to
another song, The Fool On The Hill. Not going to aim that
to anyone in particular.
Well perhaps myself
mostly.
I suppose most of us can relate to that, now and then. Of course this does little to explain relationships never mind the Meaning of Life. I think Monty Python did a bit on that worth repeating. If you happen to listen to this to the end you may want to add the current state of things going on to Mother Earth and what is being done to her and to the sea.
When humanity is considered in context of all there is, we seem to be such a speck of dust in comparison. Still that speck of dust can kick up a real storm at times. Imagine if mankind used that focus and energy in creating peace, love and helping each other in the world. Instead of doing all the stuff that is going on, which I won’t present here.
Well I guess we need a bit more of this in our lives. I wish you all the love in the world like this song, Songbird, Melanie Doane and Jim Cuddy.
Back to this little speck of dust I go. While it may seem significant, I would rather see it as something more so and express my gratitude for my camera and for the beauty it captures. Like this little gem I call A Little Honey In The Making.
Wishing you much love, peace, happiness, good health and good fortune. Let your spirit shine and your manifestations be great.
Namaste.

Backtracking, Relationships, Love, Going Forward is a post from: Creative Waves
Sometimes I talk to God and sometimes God answers quickly, sometimes it seems like it takes forever or not at all. Well I recently asked for something and it came quite quickly. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
What was it you may ask? Sure you may ask. The answer is not important for the purposes of this post. That is my story and I am sticking to it. I have had things manifest in the past almost instantly so it is possible, very possible.
That is one reason I say to remain open to all possibility. You may also want to keep your fingers and toes crossed but I warn you that can result in permanent injury if you do that for too long, that also goes for holding your breath.
Fast forward backwards to near the end of last month I checked my horoscope, which I rarely do and this is what it said:
If you’re feeling somewhat pessimistic when it comes to love, you shouldn’t be — things are just about to change. However, if you want to take advantage of these great new opportunities, you need to toss out all the junk that’s been cluttering your heart (and mind). Stop obsessing about the past! Everything that happened was meant to bring you to this moment, with your open and giving heart intact.
Hot damn that looks mighty fine I thought. Calm down please. Moving right along again you really never know when the goods will arrive. It is all a timing thing. The Universe will deliver. Time and space mean nothing to the Universe. No-Thing. Notta. Well No-Thing does not really mean notta but it seemed to fit here so in it goes.
Of course they are also talking about the monkey-mind and clutter too. OMG. Do not go near the clutter, I mutter, and sometimes shudder!
Perhaps I really should have checked with my non-resident psychic friend in Kelowna on this. Then again, she is overworked and underpaid so perhaps not to push the envelope. Her words, not mine. I think she is doing fine.
Speaking of Kelowna, yes I was and still am. I have another dear girl friend there who has had some challenges. Hey don’t we all at times.
She graciously put me up while I attended my daughter’s wedding there in 2006. I recently put her onto the book Practicing The Power of Now, well there is a link somewhere on the right hand side of the blog I believe.
Practicing
the Power of Now: Essential Teachings, Meditations, and Exercises
from The Power of Now
Oh I think that is it, above. I tried to do it before but it did not work.
in any case, I’ve talked to a few people of late about the book. Well worth the read, it was for me and helped me immensely. Quite the transformational book.
Ok, back to the series on relationships or at least the mention of them, of which I stress I am not an expert. Not everyone is for everyone but I do believe there is someone for everyone. The trick is to find them and, yes, God can be called on to perform that miracle, and believe me it sometimes does take a miracle for many of us.
What is he rambling on about now you may ask? Well, I am not back to the Give Me Sympathy post! Let us move forward, please. Thank you. Hmm. That reminds me of Pacifika and the video I posted last July. I cannot find it here. Where did it go? Darn, that is a pain when things go away like that.
Now getting back to the love is all there is theme, one of the early feelings about that subject was provided by The Beatles and the song If I Fell:
For me this is very simple, yet quite profound as were quite a few of their songs. Yes and I am still pissed over John Lennon’s untimely death.
Ok, as long as we are talking about God, Love, Death, Life, Spirituality and good looks, I must present you with one of the better looking non-persons with attitude I ran into recently.
Without further ado then I present
you with this handsome dude. Unfortunately he is better
looking than his mate. Just don’t let on that you know that
though.
Ok folks that is it for today. I got a few more pics but will save them for another day. Even more of that quacky quacked up dude. Keep those comments of gratitude coming. Ok, I will go first again. I am grateful for the Sun that came out again today, in between the drops of rain.
Have yourself a loving, peaceful, prosperous and healthy day.
