Yes, sometimes I use a little water when cookie vegetables. They turn out like steamed vegetables.
Cooking eggs is a different story, unless you use a none-stick pan, which I am not a fan of. So I just poach eggs.
Cooking with oil or butter is NOT just to prevent the food from
sticking. It also helps conduct heat from the pan to the food,
not to mention adding flavor to the food and aiding in
browning.
Yes, it is safe to cook without oil or butter, but it is not
always optimal to do so, even if your food does not stick to the
pan.
Great tips! You can also get oxidation off of silver using hot water, baking soda and aluminum foil. Just a quick soak with no scrubbing needed.
Excellent, thanks for the tip. Xo, A
Yes, it’s absolutely safe cooking foods with no oil or butter but it’s better to use in little amount as it is necessary for our diet.
yes it is safe .
yes… the silver cleaning method mentioned below by jwlrtmkr works great!
Those are non stick pans but the thing they put on them for the non stick is not good for you. Butter isn’t good either so cooking with a tad bit of olive oil or any oil that is not solid at room temp is good for you. Rule of thumb. If it’s liquid at room temp it’s healthy for you. If it’s solid it’s artery clogging. (Applies to oils, not foods). Coconut oil is the only exception to healthy oils that is solid at room temp. That probably went into more detail but yeah it’s better to cook with oil.
thxs that was very informative.
Great tips!
