As a tenant, how would I get my apartment inspected for possible mold?

Lately I have developed some flulike symptoms, and my hair is beginning to fall out in a diffuse manner. I wont get into details about it, but at some point I concluded I had candida overgrowth, so I began a candida diet. My symptoms improved, but there are times when they still flare up, and then I just thought about something today. My AC broke down a few months ago, and my apartment management took a few days to replace it. When they finally did, it was with a model that was meant to cool a single mediumsized room, not a whole apartment. I complained about it several times but was ignored as they felt it was sufficient, so I just purchased a fan for my bedroom and gave up the fight. I live in Texas where the weather is often warm and muggy, and when my AC broke down there was no exception to this, so now Im suspecting that there might be some mold growth in my ceiling due to the inadequate cooling of the AC and the warmmuggy weather outside. What emphasizes my suspicion is my hair had not begun falling out until sometime after we received the new AC, and now it seems that my brothers hair is also thinning which would indicate a common, outside factor affecting us both. Is there a way to get someone to inspect my apartment for dangerous mold without having to pay out of my own pocket
