Malindi is a famous destination for a
Kenyan vacation.
When one is looking for a luxury tropical retreat on one of the
world’s finest breaches. Malindi was once voted as one of the top
ten world’s breaches for ease of access, hotels, restaurants, bars
and shops.
This town was founded by the Arabs in the 13th Century, its on
Malindi bay at the mouth of Galana River, lying on the Indian Ocean
Coast of Kenya. Malindi has 155 kilometers of coastline with
Idyllic Silver beaches fringed with swaying palm trees casuarinas
and frangipari.

which includes; Malindi Marine National Park, deep sea fishing,
Marafa depression (popularly known as the Hell’s kitchen) and the

A
Kenya cultural safari gives you a rare opportune to
mingle with the countries diverse communities, and share with them
unique cultural experiences which include food. The most famous
culture in Kenya is found amongst the Maasai’s and Samburu’s both
pastoral communities bordering famous game reserves like the
Maasai Mara.
A visit to the Maasai land would expose you to deep rooted cultural
practices, moranism (initiation into a warrior) being the most
sought after. The Maasai’s cultural beliefs help to preserve the
wildlife since it does not condone hunting.
West of the country you meet the
Luhyia who are popular with
bullfighting in Kenya. Going down their villages
will give you a moment of sharing in their sumptuous delicacies,
songs and dance. You can decide to visit the
Kakamega forest and stay at
rondo retreat center neighboring it.
Still in the Western part of the country, you can meet the Luo’s, a
fishing community of which
U.S.A president’s father belonged to.
A safari at Kogello village and a visit to the
shores of Lake Victoria or its island of Rusinga will not only give
you an understanding of the community, but you will be able to
share in its rich cultural practices.
Lastly, at the coastal town of Mombasa, the waswahili and the
Mijikenda are popular with their cultural practices. A cultural
safari at the coastal region of Kenya will expose you to their
unique practices dating back to thousands of years.
A
Kenya cultural safari is most suited for those who
want to understand the country the country and its people. It can
be packaged to include
Kenya safaris packages in popular game reserves and
parks.

Most
Kenya
safaris packages would never fail to include these spots. They
are not only exciting, but adventurous and memorable.Planning for a
safari in
Kenya or getting a tailored safari package should for real fail
to include the safaris spots mentioned. These spots are not only
looked after by those who would be visitors to this country but
honestly they are exceptionally adventurous and honestly speaking
breath taking.
The first safari spot I would pick in Kenya is Maasai Mara. Once
declared the seventh wonder of the world, this game reserve is a
home to the big five animals and popular for the annual wildebeest
migration.
A
safari at Maasai Mara, combines many safaris into one;
camping safari,
hot air balloon safari Kenya and
Kenya Package
Tours.
The second safari spot is definitely the vast
Tsavo National Park. This is a home to thousands of
elephant, and the largest National Park in Kenya.A
Tsavo safari will include; game drives, elephant
tracking, bird watching among many others.Lake Nakuru National Park
is definitely my third choice. A home to thousands of flamingos and
other birds including the famous pelicans, storks and ducks. This
park also hosts the endangered white and black rhinos, amongst many
types of other wild animals including; lions, zebras, kudus,
gazelles, giraffes, elands and a few ostriches.
Hells Gate National Park is my next choice after Lake Nakuru. The
park borders Lake Naivasha, where one can enjoy boat riding to the
famous crescent island and bird watching while enjoying a sun
downer at the famous
Elsamere lodge. At the Hells Gate, rock climbing,
hiking safari and
Kenya camping Tours is the most sorts after.
The fifth position is the coastal town of Kenya, Mombasa. Here,
Mombasa beach holiday is the most popular pick.
Unlimited water sports, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, snorkeling
are just but a few. Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park at the South coast
is usually in a relaxed mood, easy going and fun. This Kenyan
coastal city is a destiny for most Kenya beach holiday lovers.
The five Kenya spots I have picked are not all. This country has
unlimited
vacation spots, but of course the five are
inevitable.

Picking a
Kenya adventure safari depends mostly on the
safari
packages you pick.
Most
Kenya adventure safaris are defined by the
activities that one chooses. But mostly they revolve around popular
activities that have been carefully suggested in this article.
The topmost
Kenya adventure safari, is camping. A
camping safari in Kenya gives one an opportune to
neighbor wildlife in their natural habitats. With many game parks
and reserves. Camping at
Maasai Mara is the most thrilling of all. Mingled
with nocturnal roar of lions and howling of foxes and hyenas under
an African night sky is magical. All this combined with a morning
game drive where you can easily get a glimpse of the big cats
either hunting or feasting.
Still at
Maasai Mara, a
balloon ride safari is also an adventurous
engagement. For about 500 USD, one can get a bird’s eye view of
this famous reserve and its wildlife.
Balloon ride safari is a popular choice for most
high end visitors with adventure dotting their blood.
At the Rift Valley, rock climbing at the Hells gate and a hiking
safari at the extinct Mt. Longonot is breathtaking. This
safari package also
includes bird watching, walking safari, horse riding safari amongst
others. At the nearby
Elsamere conservation centre, boat riding to the
crescent island is beyond words. Not to forget mentioning hundreds
of bird species dotting the lake and its shores, sub-merged hippos
glittering under the hot African sun is a scene from paradise.
A
game drive
safari is another adventure to engage in. Game drives will go
one to one with game tracking
safaris. Most of them are guided by experienced
game trackers available in all
safari spots in Kenya. With all this adventure,
Kenya holds the number one position as a choice for a perfect
safari.

Western part of Kenya is quickly becoming a choice for many people
searching for a unique
Kenya Safari . After spending the night at Kisumu
City,i drove to Kakamega town a two hour drive. What i had planned
for was a
Kenya Vacation Packagethat would include some
cultural safari, and a tour of Kakamega Rain forest.I arrived at
Khayega trading Centre where
Luhya Cultural Activities take place, and was
ushered to a Football pitch by Musa a local tour guide,to find a
huge crowd gathered on each side of the pitch."The "match" is just
about to begin..." He whispered softly.
He took me to a strategic point,on a roof top of an ancient
building overlooking the pitch.I made sure my camera was set, then i
waited for the
Kakamega Bullfighting event.
My patience was saved by an emergence of two groups from opposite
directions, singing and chanting, while accompanying their Bulls to
the war zone. Suddenly somebody shouted and the area was filled by
silence. The match had began! Two huge Bulls came towards each
other in a neck breaking speed! I quickly closed my eyes as the
loud bang hit the air. Unfortunately one of the Bulls had fallen on
the ground. The Bullfighting match had come to an end....So
fast!
I drove to Kakamega and Musa who accompanied me pointed a finger at
a huge human shaped rock, oozing water from the "head"."The crying
stone!" He shouted. I took some pics of this extra ordinary feature
then we left.
We arrived at
Rondo Retreat Center in time for Lunch. The place
is breath taking and relaxing. Surrounded by trees and melodious
singing of Birds,it is perfect for meditation.
We were served Lunch at the dining room, then left to a Kakamega
rain forest a home for over 300 species of Birds and Butterflies
and small game including Colo bus Monkeys and Snakes.
I noticed the Horn bill from a distance with its colored beak, and
The Wood Pecker hitting away at tree backs in search for
insects,The laughing Weaver Birds and Robins. Its indeed a Birding
Paradise! As i retreated back to Rondo for Dinner and Warm bed,
i... What a wonderful world...

After a long time of vising game parks, this holiday i wanted
something different. My
Kenya vacation has been a series of moving from
one Park to the other. But it was a perfect holiday to try
something totally new.An idea struck me,and i went in search for a
Kenya
Vacation Package that will suite me.After going through the
Great Rift Valley Safari itinerary,i settled for
camping and adventure travel in Kenya. After some planning i hired a
mountain bike and rode to
Kembu campsite a distance of over 35 km from Nakuru
town. The idea of spending the night in a sleeping bag and watching
the sky at night looked refreshing to me.On reaching Kembu
campsite, tired from a long ride,i badly needed a hot bath to
relieve me of aching muscles. I settled for dinner thereafter and
read a book at the fireplace in the bar till some minutes before
midnight when i retired to my tent.the sky was saw clear that i
studied the galaxy, and how lucky,a i watched a flying star flash
across the sky, illuminating the dark African sky. That was before i
drifted to slumber land!
I was woken up early the next day the sweet tweeter of birds on a
Cedar tee just above my head.I got out of the sleeping bag for an
early breakfast.Half an hour later i was back on the back to hit
the road for seven kilometers to The
Lord Egerton Castle.
I arrived at the Magnificent Castle almost one hour latter.I was
trying to catch my breath from an uphill ride, when an old man
approached me and introduced himself as the caretaker. He narrated
to me the facts and the mirth's about the Castle and its Late
owner,Lord Egerton.Every time he talked about the Lord,he referred
to him as "Mzee" Swahili for an old man. I latter learned that he
had accompanied the Lord in so many hunting expeditions. He told me
how another African man once saved "Mzee" from a Lion's mouth!
Our tours covered the huge sitting room with an ancient grand Piano
that the Musicians that he hired from abroad used to play him some
classical music. We also visited his bedroom and twelve other rooms
including his study and office.
After all this i was tired. I thanked the Caretaker mounted my bike
and sped off to Kembu for my late lunch. Well it was areal change
for me...
