Updated Gears of War 3 Beta Schedule

Epic have just updated the schedule for the currently running Gears of War 3 Beta! Sounds like a plan to me, a very fun and entertaining play as well... What are you looking forward to the most?

"As we near the full Gears 3 beta release on April 25th, many fans are curious what maps and game types will be unlocked and when. See our full schedule below and let us know what you’re most looking forward to in the comments!

April 18th – April 24th:  TDM on Thrashball and Checkout.
April 25th –  May 1st:  TDM and KOTH on Thrashball, Checkout, and Trenches.
May 2nd –  May 8th:  TDM, KOTH, and CTL on Thrashball, Checkout, Trenches, and Old Town.
May 9th –  May 15th:  TDM, KOTH, and CTL on Thrashball, Checkout, Trenches, and Old Town."

Beta Hackers Getting Banned

It seems a trick has come about where people can gain access to the Gears of War 3 Beta, without actually getting the code in a the legit manner. For the people using such methods, just to let you know that Epic don't take kindly to these actions and you apparently will be getting a ban from Gears of War 3!

"On the 15th, anyone who has ever rubbed up against a Gears of War game began to throw out Gears 3 beta codes. Cliffy B was even tweeting when he was out to lunch saying the first x amount of people there will get a code. Hundreds of codes were given out to the general public but there were still several eager fans who did not get a code. Instead of waiting until today (the 18th) when Bulletstorm owners were able to play the beta, people began to go across getting the game in illegitimate ways. The beta has been extracted and can now be downloaded and placed on a USB drive. Getting the beta is so easy a caveman can do it.

I hope those cavemen don’t want to play online when Gears 3 is released because according to Epic’s Community Coordinator, Stacey Conley, they will be banned. Conley, better known as Flak, posted on the official Gears 3 forums: “They’ll get banned, not only from the beta, but possibly Gears of War 3.” Now that Gears of War 3 will be running on dedicated servers, they can simply ban your gamertag or IP from their servers.

Lead Gameplay Programmer Joe Graf has already began to ban people for getting their beta code illegitimately. He tweeted, “BTW, I just banned a guy for selling beta codes via hacks. I highly recommend you don’t do that ” Just think twice if you plan on getting on the beta without a code of Bulletstorm. Just wait until the beta goes public for anyone with a Xbox LIVE gold membership.

Gears of War 3 Beta Now Live!

Yep you heard it correct, the Gears of War 3 Beta is now live! If you treated yourself to the Bulletstorm Epic Edition you can now access the Beta. If you are taking part in the Gears of War 3 Beta please post your comments in our forum. Many people won't/didn't take part and would love to hear feedback!

For the people who pre ordered Gears of War 3, your Beta gaming session will start April the 25th.

Gears of War 3 Beta Info Update!

First off, sorry for the lack of info the past couple of days. I have been really busy and ain't had much time to update Gears of War 3 Source. Anyways a couple of days ago information on the Gears of War 3 Beta was confirmed.

There is now two confirmed ways to access the Beta.

1) Pre order Bulletstorm Epic Edition. You will gain early access, so the Beta will start April the 18th and end May the 15th.

2) Pre order Gears of War 3 from selected retailers. You will be able to access the Beta April the 25th and it will end May the 15th.

Flaming Gnasher Shotgun - Complete one match during the week of May 9 to permanently unlock.

Beta Tester Medal - Complete one match in the Beta to permanently unlock.

Thrashball Cole - Unlock Thrashball Cole to play as Augustus Cole as he was before Emergence Day -- a legendary Thrashball athlete known for his ferocious, flamboyant style. Complete 50 matches in any game type to unlock for the Beta period. To permanently unlock, complete 10 matches as Thrashball Cole during the Beta period.

Gold-Plated Retro Lancer - Before the chainsaw bayonet was deployed at the beginning of the Locust-Human War, the original Lancer assault rifle had a large fixed blade. Complete 90 matches in any game type to unlock for the Beta period. To permanently unlock, score 100 kills with the Gold-Plated Retro Lancer during the Beta period.

New Gears of War 3 Content & Information Round Up!

So what do you all think about the recently released Gears of War 3 information? In some ways they gave us alot, in other way very little information regarding certain aspects of the game. However fresh information is good information and it's better than none at all. Here is a recap of today's events.

As you may of noticed I decided to start off with posting some new screens. It's the first couple of new images we have had in a while. Hope you enjoy the amazing scenery Gears of War 3 has to offer.

Now many of you are still curious about the Gears of War 3 Beta, now to put your minds at rest we have some fresh information. It's been taken from our recently updated Beta page.

"Q: When will the Gears of War 3 Beta go live?
A: The Beta will be online around mid april.

Q: What game modes will appear in the Gears of War 3 Beta?
A: Team Deathmatch, KOTH and Capture the Leader are all in the beta. Apparently CTL is unlocked later in the beta.

Q: What maps will appear in the Gears of War 3 Beta?
A: 4 maps are going to be in the beta, only Thrashball and Checkout are confirmed at this stage.

Q: What characters will be usable in the Gears of War 3 Beta?
A: Anya Stroud, Queen Myrrah and Chairman Prescott. Also some "new Locust characters" have been confirmed."

Now many people may be thinking I have forgot a massive bit of information here....wait people it's coming. Epic have released an image of the official Gears of War 3 game cover.

Another great bit of news is that some unlocks have been confirmed, see below. Information has been taken from our Unlocks page.

"Gears of War 3 contains special unlocks, rewarding you with goodies which you can use in-game. Here is a list of the current known unlocks and how to unlock them below.

Gold Retro Lancer - Play 90 matches in the Gears of War 3 Beta, once it's unlocked, in the Beta kill 100 enemies with it. It will now also be unlock in the full game.

Flaming Lancer - Buy and play the Epic Edition of Bulletstorm.

Cole Thrashball Suit - Play 70 matches in the Gears of War 3 Beta, once it's unlocked, in the Beta use it in 13 matches. It will now also be unlock in the full game."

The last bit of news is a new artwork image. It's "Thrashball" Cole holding a gold Lancer.

X11 Press Conference Gears of War 3 Info!

Tonight Microsoft's X11 Press Conference is taking place which in turn should release some very interesting Gears of War 3 information. It's about time we had some fresh information to get stuck into. Watch this space, should be around 15 mins until the Gears of War 3 info is out in the wild!

Beta will start mid April. You get to choose what maps it will include!

"Gears of War 3- Kicking off in mid-April, the Gears of War 3 public multiplayer beta will give players a chance to experience three new Versus Multiplayer modes on four new maps, and help shape the year’s biggest blockbuster, set to launch worldwide on Sept. 20 and in Japan on Sept. 22. Beta player will unlock some goodies!

"Beta players, you'll be getting some gold and some Cole, if you invest the time. The only way to unlock a Gold Retro Lancer in Gears of War 3 will be to play the beta. First, you'll need to play 90 matches to unlock it in the beta. Then, you'll need to kill 100 players with it. Do so and it's yours when Gears 3 ships.

Maybe easier to acquire will be the Thrashball Cole skin. You'll need to play 70 matches in the beta to unlock Cole's Cougars uniform, then play with it 13 times to unlock it in Gears of War 3 retail. Why those numbers? They add up to Cole's player number, of course."

Gears of War 3 Due For Release 20th September 2011!

We at Gears of War 3 Source have some very good news for all you dedicated Gearheads out there! Its official. It has been confirmed. Gears of war 3 will have a global release date of 20th September 2011(Except Japan which will be on the 22nd)! Now ain't that some exciting news? We hope you are all as excited as we are. Book the day off work, mark it in your calendars and charge up your Xbox controllers, Gears of War 3 is incoming!!

Gears of War 3 Information Leaked!

Yet again Bulletstorm plays a big part in Gears of War 3 information. Somebody has got their hands on the Bulletstorm disc, in doing so, has dug up some very nice Gears of War 3 Information! Bulletstorm Disc Needed For Gears of War 3 BETA!

We all know that you need the Epic Edition of Bulletstorm to get EARLY access to the Gears of War 3 BETA, however if your planning on playing the Gears of War 3 BETA via this method you need to keep your Bulletstorm disc.

Obviously for the lucky ones who manage to get a BETA code at a later date, without buying Bulletsorm, they won't need the Bulletstorm disc. However for the people who thought they could buy Bulletstorm, use the BETA code and then trade the game in....well you can't!
