United States is expanding
health screening process for AIDS so that every
Americans can go through the test at least once in their
lifetime, and higher risk prone individuals can get test done
at least once in a year. Researchers state that this could
prevent more than 80,000 cases in the next 20 years. Add to
that if treatment is provided along with, more impressive
results can be obtained that could prevent approximately
212,000 individuals from AIDS.
Screening for AIDS has become vital in U.S. with more number of
infections reported every year. The Center for Disease Control
and Prevention (CDC) has recommended universal health screening
test for HIV that causes AIDS. But so far, the initiative taken
is not sufficient.
According to CDC report, 600,000 deaths have been caused due to
AIDS, and 1.1 millions still affected, and more importantly 21
percent of the populations are not aware of the disease because
they have not undergone any test. The count of AIDS virus
stands at 56,000 people each year.
Proper
health screening and treatment is essential for
prevention of the disease, which has reached epidemic
proportions in the United States. Most high risk patients
include ethnic groups, gay, bisexual and addicted drug users.
Even one time screening for low risk individuals and annual
screening of high risk people can reduce the deadly disease to
great extent.
More health care facilities and awareness programmes needs to
be introduced in order to reduce the gigantic proportion of
infected person, and promote better health.

A new blood screening test is sure to change the way cancer is
treated. The test is powerful so as to detect a single cancer
cell among numerous healthy ones. This
cancer screening test would also help determine
the presence of cancer in human body which often may go
undetected in other tests. This would assist in timely
treatment of cancer in many patients, thus saving many lives.
The test is still under consideration but is sure to reach soon
at your nearest hospital and clinic. Boston scientists have
contributed to the development of this test and other companies
are joining them to introduce it in the market.
The test would help a lot, because not only detect tumors but
also give enough hints of how to treat it. Doctors are
enthusiastic about the test as they want to test it on patients
to determine what kind of treatment would be suitable for
patient to recover from the ailment soon. Patients can be
tested with chemotherapy to check whether it makes any
difference in weekly or daily basis. If it doesn’t work, then
chemotherapy can be stopped and other treatments can be
started. This is beneficial because doctors would not have to
waste time in different treatments.
Some of the big cancer centers are soon going to research on
this
health screening test, and it is believed
that the test would transform treatments for many types of
cancer.
May be another two years is sufficient for the research and
then cancer care will never be the same again. As suggested by
experts, this is an amazing way to treat cancer. The new health
screening test would also remove painful sampling of tissue.
This is also suitable for monitoring patients than imaging
scans.

Lung cancer screening is vital for heavy smokers to determine
tumors in the earliest stage. Researchers suggest that heavy
smokers who undergo health screening are least likely to die
from lung cancer. Smokers who received 3-D X-rays to detect
tumors in lungs are at lower risk of dying. Last month a result
was published, which showed that patients who have undergone CT
scans, X-rays reduced death rate by 20 percent out of 53,000
current smokers.
This is good news for health department as many people are
affected by lung cancer through smoking. The latest finding
published in the journal Lung Cancer, states that patients who
undergo
health screening test like CT scans up to 2
times, have much lower risk (36 percent to 64 percent) of dying
from lung cancer.
However, it is still not clear how many screening test should
be conducted in order to reduce the death. No proper guidelines
have yet been set up for this.
Lung cancer is a serious disease, said to kill 1.2 million
people in the world yearly, and it amounts to 157,000 deaths in
United States alone. Usage of tobacco leads to 85 percent of
lung cancer cases in United States.
In past few years,
health screening tests for lung cancer have been
promoted by some hospitals, clinics and other healthcare
providers to perform test on more people having lung cancer and
thus reduce rate of people suffering from this disease. CT
scans in particular have now been introduced in more
hospitals.

There are various types of skin cancer that may affect people,
significant among them being malignant melanoma and basal cell
carcinoma. Itchy mole is one of the common signs of cancer, and
it should not be taken lightly for it can lead to serious
health problem. Normal moles do not itch, however some moles
itch very much, which signifies serious skin diseases. If you
experience any sort of itchy moles then you should immediately
consult doctor at the nearest healthcare provider for proper
diagnosis.
Test for itchy mole is generally done by taking
a tissue sample from the mole and then sent to lab to be tested
by pathologist. Itchy mole testing is specifically done for
detection of melanoma or basal cell carcinoma. If the mole is
found to contain cancerous cells then doctors advise immediate
treatment which includes removal of mole and some tissues from
the region.
Itchy moles are rare, but they occur often due to increased
exposure to ultraviolet rays. Proper protection from sun is
essential, especially during the day from 10 in the morning to
4 in the evening.
As moles can be dangerous, so it’s expected that people should
be aware of the symptoms of skin cancer. It is vital that moles
should be regularly checked up by doctor.

Health screening for breast cancer is vital for it saves lives of
million of people around the globe. Breast cancer screening test
help people in timely treatment of this disease which is a major
cause of death among women. However, increasing awareness about
breast cancer has made women more mature and they go for direct
treatment without waiting for screening.
In breast cancer, mammogram is the basic test for detection.
Researchers often disagree about beneficial effect of this
screening test, as
they suggest it often shows wrong result and leads to unnecessary
treatment. However, after the screening program was introduced,
deaths of breast cancer patients were down by 10 percent. Death
rate also fell to considerable level for those patients who were
not screened but undergone treatment, though the percent was
smaller as compared to those who went for screening.
A different
health screening program was examined by the study
in UK, where women aged between 50 and 69 were invited for
mammogram test in three years, and also included women between 47
and 73. So a woman in UK is invited for breast cancer screening
when she is around 50 and according to NHS screening website it is
said to save lives one women for every 500 women
screened.
The important factor is that an individual should undergo better
treatment for cure of the disease as soon as possible. Health
screening for breast cancer is essential but if you feel like going
to the doctor you should go soon without waiting for screening
test.

HPV screening is more effective than cytology in
prevention of cervical cancer in women greater than 35 years of
age, for detection of high grade lesions. This method is more
effective in older women than younger women, as it can lead to
excess diagnosis of
cervical
intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN).
Researchers suggest that HPV test
should replace cytology in the regular health screening test.
Cervical cancer is one of the most vulnerable sexually
transmitted disease (STD) thriving in most of the countries. Any
better health screening tests is sure to reduce the number of
people suffering from this disease or patients going for
treatment at right time. For younger women, it is better to
undergo pap smear test, as HPV test is still under consideration
whether they could be effectively used for younger people.
Research is still on about efficiency of HPV test and the most
appropriate age for it. However, subsequent research and study
has prompted researchers to claim that this screening test for
cervical cancer has potential to revolutionize the way in which
testing is done. More improvements are necessary for HPV testing
to take it to the level of other test and it should reduce the
number of prophylactic treatment procedures associated with it.
The
screening test should be more effective and cost
effective so that it caters to large number of population around
the globe.

Health Screening test are very essential to
evaluate your health on regular basis. They form an important
part of human lives to monitor health, and treatment done if
anything goes wrong. However, individuals should also know when
and how many times to undergo health screening test; otherwise
you may end up with lots of unnecessary tests with all your money
wasted. Some of the tests are too expensive unless you have
insurance to cover them up.
Now we provide you some tips which would help assess the extent
of testing to be done at health clinic. You can go for annual
check up if you feel it is necessary. Persons who maintain good
health, health screening test once in two or three years is
enough provided they are not under any symptoms. However, some of
the severe diseases like sexual transmitted diseases (
STD) may not show any symptoms often for years. In
that case, it’s better to go for check up once a year.
Women above 30 who have undergone pap smear test, wont need
another one in next two or three years. For those who have
hysterectomy and cervix removed, never require a pap test.
Whole body health screening test is sometimes unnecessary, as
this lead to more expenses. Often people are exposed to harmful
radiation which enhances the risk of cancer. Often whole body
screening is avoided for healthy people having no symptoms at
all, in many of the health clinics. The US Food and Drug
Administration has also recommended that too much of health
screening test is often bad for heath.

Health screening is essential to determine the presence of disease
or any other health problems. Health screening should be done on
routine basis to prevent diseases or may be done in a patient to
assess the current condition.
There is no hard and fast rule as to which tests should be done for
health screening and the perfect time for it. It
depends on the doctors and insurers, as when to conduct screening
test.
Health screening test for children includes blood
pressure check, weight and height test along with dental, vision or
hearing problem.
Tests are done to ensure proper development of spine and skin test
to search for presence of moles and birthmarks. Diabetes, anemia
and tuberculosis are some of the normal health screening done
occasionally. Children should undergo check up once in a year after
they develop teeth. Vision screening should be done under age three
and blood pressure under ten.
Health care providers conduct some basic screening test for adult
depending on age. Men and women should have eye test once in three
years, dental once in two years and hearing checks regularly.
Women should undergo some special test like pelvic, pap, breast and
skin to care best for their health. These tests are essential for
women aged between 20 and 39.
Women above 50 years should undergo blood pressure, cholesterol,
breast, Mammogram, pelvic, pap test, bone density test, thyroid
stimulating hormone test, colorectal cancer test and others.
