Question by Cheshire ◕‿◕ Cat: Cyber shot DSC HX5V Well, I know this is a very hard question to get a lot of answers to, but, how do I use Soft Snap on my digital camera? My brother has a different camera and his Soft Snap photos are really good, so I want to try it on my camera, only, it doesn't work. I go to Scene Selection, choose Soft Snap and exit. I have a Soft Snap icon in the corner. Then when I take a photo it is exactly the same as a normal photo. No soft background. What do I do?
Best answer:Answer by selina_555
So "soft snap" should produce blurred backgrounds?
That is normally achieved via a combination of large aperture, zoom and distance between subject and background.
Small P&S cameras are not very good at this because they CAN'T do it - they are just not big enough.
Move your subject further away from the background, and step back yourself (then zoom in). That way you'll maximize the effect as much as possible.
