I can never seem to remember which number is which on a check.
So, I found this check routing number website that helps. Check it out… ha… ha…
We are
going to give ‘Il Papa’ a HUGE birthday present! Pope Benedict
XVI’s birthday is coming up on April 16th. He’s turning 84 years
old and I’m sure he can use all the prayers he can get while
shepherding the Universal Church! We are going to give the Pope
the gift of prayer. We are going to lift him up in prayer for
nine days straight. That’s right, we’re going to pray a birthday novena for
the Pope.
[/caption] The St. Joseph Novena was a great success
for hundreds of the faithful! Many people really benefited from
the spiritual blessings of praying a novena to such a wonderful
saint.Last week I was on vacation in Florida and I visited the
oldest Catholic Church in America in St. Augustine, Florida. It
was a tiny little church building that would only fit a handful
of people for Mass. It was about a hundred yards away from a HUGE
cross that was erected to commemorate the first Mass celebrated
in North America. It was pretty great to see such an historical
place! I got some nice photos and there was even a statue of St.
Joseph right outside the Church. See photo below![caption

While I was in Florida I wasn’t keeping up with my email very
well. When I returned I discovered several emails with great
stories of how God answered prayers and how positive this past
novena was.It was beautiful to see that so many benefited from
this novena. It was our biggest novena yet with hundreds of
people praying together. In fact, 113 new people
joined the novena reminder email list. I’d love to share all of
those stories with you, but many of them include personal
details. However, here are some highlights:
“Just what I wanted in so many ways.”
[/caption]A
married couple who gives Catholic seminars for other couples
began to pray the St. Joseph Novena and said:
“We experienced a lot of forgiveness and healing during the seminars, between couples who have had no time to have a deep dialog or prayer for sometime.”
They went on to say that they“…personally believe that the intercession of Saint Joseph allowed us to connect to the couples, especially to the husbands…”
“…it was cool to see how he grew in peace as I prayed the Novena everyday. Thank You, Jesus for answered prayers!”
God does answer prayers! If you have any examples of how he has answered prayers for you feel free to add them in the comment box below (remember that if you comment, it will be public).
Ready to Pray Another? I can’t
announce our next novena yet, but I can tell you that I think you
are going to really love it! I will be announcing it very shortly
because it starts in about two weeks.
However, before I do announce it I wanted to give you a chance to guess what the theme is. I’m going to give you just one hint. It may sound pretty obscure, but I’m sure there is someone out there who can guess it!
Please enter your guess into the comment box below! Do it now because I’ll be announcing the theme very soon! via Posterizecheck routing number
Here’s my favorite prayer website of all time. Maybe because I love novenas, but it’s a novena site. Check it out! http://www.praymorenovenas.com
I hope you like it too! Let me know what you think!
A lot of types of Catholic Prayer exist. All of these are meant to help everyday, faithful catholics in the pews to come closer to God.
It means having a relationship with him. That sounds kind of funny doesn’t it? Isn’t God a immaterial being who is aloof and far away? How does one actually build a real relationship with a God like that?
Many people have these questions. They want to know how to connect with God, but usually in their hearts, (sometimes in my heart as well) they believe that it is utterly impossible! How could one actually have a REAL relationship with God?
To many people it’s hard to have relationships with other human beings let alone a being that you cannot see, feel, smell or touch!
So, what is the key? What is the key to finding and building that relationship with God? What is the key to filling in the holes that are in my life and in my heart right now?
The key is prayer.
The key is faithful prayer.
The key is openness to faithful prayer.
The key is consistent openness to faithful prayer.
Let’s break that down.
Prayer is recognizing God’s presence first. Then it is communicating with God either actively or passively.
Faithful prayer is that recognition of God’s presence and that communication with God that is sincere. Many people attempt to pray without being sincere at all. They then give up because they feel that prayer is useless.
They didn’t approach it properly. They didn’t approach it with sincerity or ‘faithfulness’. That is the problem.
Many others have very deep life changing conversions after they pray with sincerity. Even after attempting to pray in the past. Once they finally do it with sincerity it can be a life changing experience. This is because you’re giving God permission to act in your life… Not just talking in your head.
What is openness?
Openness is similar to sincerity but it has more to do with your disposition to reciprocating. Where sincerity is giving God permission to act, openness is giving yourself permission to reciprocate and to respond to God’s actions.
What is consistency?
This one is pretty easy. Basically it just means that you keep going. Day after day. Week after week. Month after month. Year after year. That’s what friendships take right?
Why should it be any different when you’re talking with and building a relationship with God?
As I mentioned before, there are many ways for Catholics to pray. Here again is the list. I will describe each one in depth later.
