(More customer reviews)I do have the
previous model, what is the same thing but a different "box" I did
have it 2 day before Katrina and here in Hollywood we did have-it
Purdy good.Well of course I did not have a perfect installation but
everything got hock-up in less the 8 hours. This kit is perfect. The
automatic switch box makes the generator kick-in in 30 seconds from
a power outage, and switch back-in by itself.I did select this unit
because I have an AC who draw 13 amps a 230 1 ph. and all the
light, PCs, Tv and small thing draw no more than 2 Amps a 115v.No
hot water or oven. And I can't have the cafe going with the toaster
Oh well I can have-it all because I'm cheap...
I didn't want to be independent from the gas company, and then I
did install a liquid propane system. When Wilma past-by I did run
the unit almost 24 hrs a day and I did consume about 75 to 100# of
LP a day what is expensive but cheaper then gas and you can
store-it for a long theme. Also Propane can be find faster than gas,
because gas station need electricity...
For the noise level, I didn't have any complaints from Nabors or if
I'm in one room away I can barely hear-it.The control is very
simple.Spot the breaker you want to be cover, disconnect-it and
connect the wires to the new circuit. It's that easy.
The only thing you will need is a battery, oil, a base to install
it, gas line (1" pipe minimum) and regulator. The unit is complete
by itself, easy to install, be careful it's 800#, a bit heavy for
one guy... Read the book it's short and simple, the set-up takes a
minute, the governor is a bit tutchy to adjust especially when
there a full load starts. For the maintenance, I change the oil, oil
filter and the air filter one a year keep an eye on the gas and
that-it.Notice the unit cover is painted with a good quality cook
enamels, I have it expose to the sun and rain, after 3 years it
look like new still.
To be on a safe side have an electrician doing the electric system
and the gas Co. to do the line work. And for not a arm and a leg you
will be sleeping with peace and comfort.
PS Sorry for my french, I'm a handy man more then a writer...

Product Description:
Experience fast-acting, automatic protection from power loss with
the Generac Guardian Series 5501 8,000 / 7,000 Watt Air-Cooled
Propane/Natural Gas Powered Automatic Standby Generator with Steel
Enclosure. Ideal for home use, this generator powers up
automatically and within seconds of a power outage without the need
for any manual startup. Without any buttons to push or cords to
plug in, an automatic standby generator starts up by itself even
when you're away! Featuring easy installation, it comes pre-wired
and packaged with virtually everything necessary to connect to your
home's electrical system and existing LP or natural gas fuel
supply, so you can be protected the next time the lights go
out.
A 410cc Generac OHVI® Engine delivers reliable performance
with its long-life design. View larger.
Standby generators power up automatically within seconds of
a power outage to keep your family safe and comfortable. View
larger.
This powerful generator comes pre-wired and equipped with
the necessary installation gear. View larger.
Hands-Free Automatic Operation
When the power goes out, this generator eliminates the trouble of
dealing with a fuse box in a dark basement or going outside in a
storm to start a portable generator. After all LP or natural gas
and electrical connections are completed, the Generac 5501 is ready
to run 24/7 and requires absolutely no manual operation, no
fueling, and no extension cords. The generator responds within
seconds of power outages, so inconveniences like heat or air
conditioning loss and burst pipes or spoiled food are quickly
avoided.
Initial setup is easy. The generator arrives pre-wired and equipped
with the necessary installation gear: an 8-circuit transfer switch
(NEMA 1, indoor-rated only), pre-wired conduits, an outdoor
connection box, a flexible fuel line pigtail, and a composite
mounting pad. (Additional items and tools may be needed to complete
the installation to meet local codes. Consult a licensed
professional for further details.)
The unit can be programmed to perform a weekly exercise at the time
of your choice, so it will be ready for continuous and reliable
operation on a moment's notice.
Superior Technology for Secure Output, Quiet Operation, and
Durability
Thanks to Generac's exclusive True Power Technology, this generator
provides clean, continuous power, so sensitive electronics and
microchip appliances like laptops and HVAC equipment can be
operated without the worry that unexpected power surges bring. The
ultra-quiet design means that noise levels during self-tests are
1/3 quieter than portable generators, so your daily routine is
unaffected.
The generator's corrosion-resistant, galvanized steel enclosure is
protected by Generac's proprietary RhinoCoat system--a unique
process that binds the paint to the metal surface for a
long-lasting, durable finish. This allows the generator to sit
outdoors and withstand harsh weather conditions without developing
an unsightly appearance.
Like all Generac generators, this model is UL (Underwriters
Laboratories) listed for safety.
Rugged, Worry-Free Design
The generator features the 410cc Generac OHVI® Engine, an exclusive
air-cooled generator engine with a high-performance design that can
accommodate large electrical loads. The engine optimizes power to
respond swiftly to changing conditions. To add to your peace of
mind, the engine requires routine maintenance only once every two
years, or after 200 hours of use.
This Generac generator meets CARB requirements. It requires a Group
26R 12-volt minimum 350 CCA battery (sold separately).

(More customer reviews)My wife and I
bought this French door, counter depth Electrolux in late April of
this year (2010.) I have to say, I am not happy with this
refrigerator at all.
First, it is occasionally very noisy and sounds like popcorn is
popping inside. I think this is related to the icemaker, which also
doesn't dispense very well at all.
Second, the door design on this unit is terrible. There is a moving
weatherseal on the right-hand door that keeps it from just
naturally closing. You have to exert a fair amount of force to
close it. With the icemaker on the left door (and after years of
side-by-side units) the right hand door is the natural one to use
to access the fridge. Because of the hinged seal strip, it often
doesn't quite close. Why they didn't put the seal on the left door
is beyond me. It also doesn't indicate that it is ajar and the
icemaker actually makes noise like it is working, but it doesn't
engage and dispense ice.
Third and finally, it is extremely easy to cause the freezer
baskets to jump out of their mounts and jam up.
I would highly not recommend this unit.

(More customer reviews)No, I had not heard
of this brand either when I went out looking for a refrigerator to
replace my 30 year old GE.
Our problem is space. Even though I certainly wouldn't mind a huge
Viking or something, the reality was around 18 cu ft. I went all
over the place, looked at every brand and found that most companies
spent their best efforts on the bigger models.
Then, I saw a Fisher and Paykell. It was the right size, had a
beautiful simple design and the use of interior space was better
than others in its size range. It had the desired bottom freezer,
the controls were simple and made sense, the trays for fruits and
vegetables were easy to access and the glass shelves could be
adjusted, removed and cleaned easily.
Style-wise, I was drawn to the clean, curved door design made of
smooth metal rather than textured plastic. I needed white, but the
stainless is extremely good looking. F&P also now offers models
with dispensers in the door.
Note that the doors are not reversible so you have to order the
left or right door version.
The glass shelves extend from side to side and slide into little
slots. It is easy to slide them out for cleaning or adjustment.
Surprisingly, the little plastic dams that surround almost all
glass shelves these days are absent on the ends of these shelves. I
strongly suggest that you get a couple of shallow plastic trays to
hold meat or other drippy things. That is probably a good idea for
any fridge, actually.
There is no dedicated meat compartment I suspect a special separate
compartment would break up the interior and isn't really needed
anyway. The wide expanse of shelves is what makes this interior
special.
We took out one of the shelves to free up space for big and tall
things.
There are two little lidded compartments in the door that we use
for butter and cheese. They are not very big and certainly could
have been designed to hold more in the same space they occupy.
The fruit and vegetable trays are lidded and separate, with little
adjustable vents to control the humidity. They slide nicely, access
is good and cleaning is easy.
We like the bottom freezer. It uses a system of separate drawers,
rather than one big bin. This is a good high-end touch and the real
drawer sliders make it nicer to use. The bins on other models
seemed terribly cheap in comparison.
The lighting in the fridge section is fine. The drawer system for
the freezer part precludes a lighting system, at least one that
wouldn't be impossibly complex. But, the bins slide out and it is
easy to see in them under normal kitchen light.
On another site, a reviewer complained that a glass shelf broke.
They do look a little vulnerable as they are so long and thin.
However, we stored two turkeys on one shelf with no problems.
Tempered glass is very strong and I would think problems would be
rare.
There were also a couple of complaints about noise. Our kitchen is
like astage where every sound is projected into the adjacent living
room. Still, I can hardly hear it and it is rarely even on anyway.
This may be a princess and the pea situation. In our case, the old
fridge was 20x noisier, so this is fine.
Operation-wise, we are very happy. The fruits and vegetables do
indeed last much longer than before, the ice cream (even Ben &
Jerrys) is hard and the ice doesn't stick.
One oddity is that even when the feet are adjusted to tilt the unit
back a bit, the doors will not close all the way on their own. The
formidable gaskets hold it back. But not to worry. The door-open
alarm will not let you forget. It will probably rid your house of
rodents and insects.
We are happy with this fridge. It looks great, has about as much
utility as possible in its size range and works well. I am hoping
it will be reliable.

(More customer reviews)1/3/2010:Got this
fridge yesterday from Sears except in White.Looks real nice and so
far is quieter than my older one.Had a water leak in the door of
this fridge on day one but after easily moving the hose coil in the
chiller it stopped. The quick-connect water lines don't like to be
bent so that was the issue there. The unit cooled down fast and I
was able to stock the fridge in an hour after the doors were kept
shut.It was hard not opening them to keep looking inside.:)I'm not
concerned about the energy consumption.I wanted a small french door
fridge with water and ice in the door and this (and the Kenmore
version) were the only models that met the specifications.
1/11/2010 Update:I really love this fridge! It is so bright inside.
The ice maker keeps up with me filling up my 40oz water bottle with
ice every day plus other general use from other people at home.As a
bunch of people say as well though on these style fridges, when
cubes is selected some crushing action still happens but for the
most part whole cubes come out.If you were really fussy about
needing just cubes this may be a downfall however it seems to be a
problem on all french door fridges with ice in the door. You just
have to weigh your options / needs.I use mostly crushed ice when
I'm at home and cubes in my water bottle so a little crushed ice
with my cubes isn't a problem.Compared to my old fridge/freezer
(standard freezer on top model) this fridge/freezer has a lot more
room inside however door storage is less because the icemaker takes
up the door space. Not a big deal though as I'd rather have more
main compartment storage.I'm really happy with the purchase.
1/19/2010 Update:No more complaints here.Love the fridge and all
it's features.Freezer on the bottom is great!Lots of room.

on 09/01/2005.
On 09/27/2005, we had our first service call: "Temp in upper part

the receipt.)
On 10/11/2005, we had our second service call: "Unit no longer

On 11/17/2005, we had our third service call: "Water dispenser

On 12/08/2005, we had our fourth service call: "Water dispenser

On 12/29/2005, we had our fifth service call: "Water dispenser is

On 02/14/2006, we had our sixth service call: "Water tank freezing.
Tech adv to replace control board."
Upon replacement of the electronic control board, the problems
ceased.
Needless to say, however, we were not pleased with having to deal
with these issues, which spanned a period of five months. In all
fairness, the issues were covered by the warranty, which Maytag
agreed to extend an additional six months. However, I cannot in
good conscience recommend the unit.

(More customer reviews)I don't really
think it's louder than my side by side 10 yr old Whirlpool, but the
hum is a little higher pitched and just loud enough to be
annoying.
The beautiful, shinny black finish scratches easily. I put up a
drawing made by my 2 year old and moved the magnet slightly to
straighten the drawing, and scratched the finish. It's not
noticeable unless you catch it in just the right light, but enough
that I will not be putting anything else on the front of the
frig.
Otherwise, I love this frig, way better than my side by side that
is suppose to be the same size inside. This model does not have the
water dispenser, and that is why I got it; instead of the RF266
which has the inside water dispenser.. or the RF267 with the
dispensers in the door. The ice maker is hidden in the freezer; if
I took out the ice tray you wouldn't see the ice maker and it
doesn't take up any useable space inside. It is SO much easier and
nicer to get to the ice that we actually use ice for the first time
in years. You do have to open the freezer, but the ice is easy to
see to see, there is a scooper in a holder in front of the ice
bucket, and the bucket is easy to remove if you want a lot of ice
or need to clean it. Best of all, It is way easier to see and find
everything in the freezer. I was afraid it would be harder because
things would be stacked; but there is so much more room in this
freezer, I didn't have to stack anything. My completely loaded
freezer from the side by side is neatly tucked away in my new
freezer with EVERYTHING accessible I have all the small stuff in
the top drawer, juices in the front, tilt shelf and larger items in
the two large compartments. Nothing is on top of anything else,
leaving so much more room in the freezer.
All the door racks in the frig are gallon size and the shelves are
all glass. You can arrange the shelves so that they go across the
entire frig, or split them and have different height selves on
either side. I have some going all the way across for large cakes
and party trays, and some split so I have the height I need for a 2
1/2 gal water container.
This frig is the same wideth as my side by side but it's a little
taller and deeper, but somehow it doesn't stick out more than my
older side by side, I'm not sure why. I did a lot of reading about
these french door refrigerators and choose this one because of the
high ratings and the fact that it is listed as having the most
USABLE interior space inside (of any french door or side by side of
the same size - 26 cu ft). I bought mine at Lowes, on sale for just
over $1000 plus $110 in tax and an extended 5 year warranty for
$119. I couldn't believe the price. This frig is well worth the
full retail price. I highly recommend it.

worked for about 2 minutes, since then I have not been able to get

admitted it is a common problem because the waterlines freezes, but
it still doesn't work. I attempted to defrost it with a hair dryer

the humidifier slots helps some. The touch panel is fussy it doesn't

(More customer reviews)We have been on a
journey to find a great, stylish and functional counter depth
refrigerator. We are replacing a perfectly fine Kitchen Aid side by
side that we put in a second home. First, we chose a Samsung side
by side, but were not satisfied with it's refrigerator temperature.
We set it at 34, but it never seemed cold enough. Milk was never
"ice cold" as we were accustomed to. We started monitoring the
temperatures, and it was typically around 38-43 degrees. Samsung
was unable to remedy this issue, even after sending out a new
replacement. Then we chose a GE Profile model, but it was a similar
scenario, with wide temperature swings between the setting of 34,
and 44 degrees, so a return of the GE was in order after service
was unable to remedy it's large temperature swings.
Now, onto the Electrolux. This was a favorite from the start when
we were shopping, but we were scared off by some reviews. We
decided to go for it anyway, and are pleased with that decision, so
far. However, the first one delivered did not cool at all. A
service tech was dispatched immediately, and he found that there
was a broken line from the compressor, due to damage in shipping,
no fault of the unit, and all the refrigerant had escaped. The
dealer brought the GE back until another Electrolux could be
ordered and delivered.
Upon recieving the second Electrolux, it is performing nicely.
Internal temperature is as stated on the Wave Touch Panel at 34 and
-4 degrees for the freezer (which, by the way, you can set to show
the refrigerator and freezer temps at all times). The units
appearance is of good quality, being stainless steel on all sides,
sturdy handles, and a modern appearance with Wave Touch Controls,
which are easy to use. The doors are simple to align or adjust if
needed.
The interior of this unit is 22.6 cu/ft, so as counter depth goes,
it is decent. With edgeless glass shelves, ball bearing glides on
all drawers, a large temperature controlled drawer with digital
programmed settings, 2 good sized slide out bins, and exceptionaly
well done LED lighting, this unit's interior is impressive.
We especially like the temperature controlled drawer, which can be
adjusted from 28 to 40+ degrees. The drawer is large enough for
party platters, and can keep fresh meats at near freezing, or beer
can be kept at a very nice 28 degrees, or wines at a favorite
selected temperature. The ice maker does take up a fair amount of
space, but for ice and water in the door, it is a worth while
sacrifice.
The icemaker has had some negative reviews, but so far ours is
fine. The cubes are rounded, with a divit. I'm not sure why this is
considered "Drink Friendly", but they are nice. One issue is that
the cubes seem to come out with some vengence. However, by simply
putting your glass or ice bucket close to the dispensing
chute...problem solved. We have seen no melted ice puddles in the
catch basin. Water dispensing is simple, and functional. We have
only had this unit for a few days, so I can't comment on ice
production quantity, but it is supposed to be better than most, per
Electrolux specifications.
The freezer has 2 deep slide out bins, and 1 shallow one, with
dividers and smooth ball bearing slides. One of our wire dividers
does not stay in place, but that is no big issue at all. Space is
good, and well utilized. Lighting in the freezer is excellent.
If I listen closely, I can hear the unit running, but sound is not
obtrusive or noticably louder than any of the other units we have
had recently. I would say it is quiet.
Pros: Operates at accurate temperatures set, huge slide out
temperature controlled drawer, Exceptionally well done LED lighting
and appearance, Wave Touch Controlls, functional use of space.
Looks and feels high quality. We finally have really cold milk
again.
Cons: High end of price scale, Ice maker takes up some refrigerator
space, and some door storage.

(More customer reviews)I've had the
refrigerator for a month now and it's been nothing but
fantastic. There's so many fine touches to this refrigerator you
really feel that samsung put a lot into their engineering/design of
this fridge.First of all the fridge is huge.I really didn't pay
much attention to the bottom freezer design until my girlfriend
pointed out the convenience of having the refrigerator section on
top.I can't go back to have a top freezer fridge.
The bottom freezer handle has tilt and pull design which I haven't
seen in any of the other manufacturers. This means as you pull the
handle towards you it tilts and actually pushes away from the frame
of the refrigerator. You can see this when you play with the
handle. The freezer compartment is intelligently designed to be able
to hold whatever you throw at it.It passed the frozen pizza test
with an actual slot for sliding them in.
The ice cube maker is inside the refrigerator rather than the door
which is preferable in my opinion. This keeps the doors light while
being able to hold more ice. You'll also notice that there aren't
any rubber seals that rub against each other when you close the
french doors.Rather they designed a unique mechanism which is a bit
hard to describe.Other refrigerators we've seen had rubber seals
that rubbed against each other which is bound for tearing in the
future.
The interior layout, deli pantry, and shelves all work well. What's
awesome about the refrigerator is the twin cool. Now, I was told by
the sales guy this helps with freezer burns.I haven't had anything
in the fridge long enough to tell, but for certain it's nice to
have that funky smell you get in the freezer when you have one
cooler driving air to both compartments. My girlfriend notice her
vegetables kept fresh. She commented how you normally have to chop
up green onions to keep them fresh but they stayed fresh for two
weeks without chopping them.
Cons.Well, there are a few of them but I wouldn't consider them
cons but you'll notice them and quickly forgive. The ice maker is a
bit loud when it drops the cube.Other than that the fridge is
extremely quiet.Did I mention you can set temperature from the lcd
panel and things stay extremely cool.Don't open the fridge
naked.

(More customer reviews)I actually have the
EI26SS65GS which only differs slightly with the touch controls.
The high point of this refrigerator that makes it stand out from
the crowd is that it is fully constructed in stainless steel while
the others just have stainless steel cladding in the front but not
on the sides.
This makes for a handsome refrigerator since this is not a counter
depth model so the sides show.
Both freezer and refrigerator interior has ample storage. The
interior lights have a nice effect of being initally dim at first
and then fully brightens up.
A good point is the vacation mode you can set that saves
electricityby not turning on the defrosting cycle when you are
away.
My only grievance is the the design of the ice dispenser which
delivers the ice (both cubes and crushed) which such force and
intensity that the ice is spilled all over the floor and a clean up
is always necessary. My 4 year old kid is so afraid to use it.
The delivery men do not install the water dispenser hose so I had
to do it myself and it was somewhat of an effort threading it
properly. I mis-threaded the first hose and had to buy an
aftermarket replacement at $7. It seems that the original hose is
hard to find item.
For the $2,500 we paid for it, we expected that the Ice dispenser
flaw would have been discoverd and remedied before production.
FYI: unit made in Mexico.

(More customer reviews)This refrigerator
is well designed. We seem to be able to fit everthing, while still
looking organized. The added space in the freezer is also great. The
two design flaws for us are the lack of an egg holder in the fridge
and the butter section is too high and deep to be of optimal
usage. Our refrigerator has also had problems with the icemaker. It
was initially overproducing the ice (so much so that when we opened
the freezer, ice would fall out);then I think the excess ice broke
the unit so that no ice was being made.LG provided service, and the
technician replaced the ice maker three weeks ago.Unfortunately,
I'm having the same problem again.First too much ice, and now
none.A technician is supposed to come in two days to try fixing it
again!!!I hope it works, because it is becoming a nuisance. I don't
know if it's a problem with all the SpacePlus refrigerators, or if
we are experiencing bad luck.I would not recommend this fridge
though, based on our experience.

(More customer reviews)I use this with my
Watts RO system. The permeate pump has John Guest type connections,
which is easy for connecting tubes. The connector size is 1/4
inch.Since my Watts system uses 3/8 inch tubes for the filtered
water, I also bought 1/4 to 3/8 adapters (which will be included if
you buy the permeate pump from Watts' site directly). The Watts
manifold system has two 3/8" outputs to fork the filtered water to
tank and faucet.I had to end one of them and add a 3/8 tee as a
fork after the permeate pump. While I am writing this, I think I
could have instead used a 3/8x3/8x1/4 tee between the manifold and
the pump (no need to end an output and also save an adapter).
RO systems rely on water pressure difference on the two sides of
membrane: the lower the pressure difference, the more wasted
water. The often cited 4:1 waste water ratio is for when the tank is
empty. As the tank fills, the pressure difference is smaller and
more wasted water is generated and longer time is needed to produce
the same amount of filtered water. This is why people who tested the
ratio at home found higher ratios than the published one.In reality
the waste ratio may be even higher as the tank is rarely empty
before the system resumes to work again. This pump separates the
tank from the membrane, making the pressure on the tank side of the
membrane always low.As explained above, this will greatly reduce
the amount of waste water.
When pressure difference on a membrane is low, the rejection rate
(percentage of contaminants rejected) is also low, resulting in
more TDS (total dissolved solids) in the filtered water. So, this
pump will also increase rejection rate.High pressure difference
also makes it faster to fill the tank, and a 24 GPD
(gallons-per-day) membrane may be enough for a system that needed
50 GPD.In addition, the hydraulic pressure of the pump will push
more water into the tank, resulting in a higher tank pressure when
filled than without the pump.
An RO system has a shutoff valve, which shuts off the water when
the pressure difference is low and reopens when the pressure
difference increases to a certain level. This stops the system from
wasting too much water. When this pump is used, it may render the
shutoff valve useless. This is true especially for manifold systems
like the Watts because the shutoff valve is built into the manifold
and cannot see the tank pressure after the permeate pump is
installed. As a result, the input water is never shut off.In this
situation, the pump will act like a pseudo-shutoff valve and will
shut off the system when tank pressure reaches a high level. But
when the tank pressure is reduced a little (say by drawing a small
cup of water), it immediately resumes to work. This increases the
chance of TDS creep:even when the system stops, the membrane still
sits in water, and the TDS on the tap water side will gradually
creep through the membrane into the filtered water side. The more
frequently the tap water is "refreshed" (as in the above scenario),
the more TDS creeps into tank.I alleviated this problem by adding
an auto shutoff valve externally between the tank line and the
input water line.I used a regular shutoff valve (which shuts off at
60% pressure), but a 90% valve probably is better (see the comment
by Waterdrinker).
The pump will generate a click sound every few seconds when it is
working. This is normal and the sound is nothing compared to the
hissing noise from the air gap of the RO system.
Compared to not using the pump, I probably save 4-5 gallons water
for each gallon of filtered water. We use about 3 gallons per day
for cooking and drinking. So our annual saving is about 5000
gallons, or about 15-20 bucks a year.

(More customer reviews)I bought my house,
and found that the previous owners had done their own kitchen
remodel which left a really strange size cutout for the fridge. It
took me weeks to find this one which (as far as I can tell) is the
only counter depth and narrow refrigerator.Anyway, it is a good
fridge. No complaints. The fridge is cool looking, but the only
reason that I can think someone would buy this one is for size.If
you aren't restricted by size, I would look at a wider fridge.
Good things to know... There is an inline water filter (works good,
easy to change), ice maker doesn't take up too much room, the
fridge is counter depth (they don't advertise it as such but you
can tell by the dimensions and the back is flat). The inside is
small but the fridge doesn't look freakishly small.Oh, the ice
maker is temperamental; it doesn't bother me but if you love ice
this could be a problem.
Almost no one carries these; if you need to "see" it I found a
Samsungat the big box retailers that is about the same size.If more
than two people live in your house, or you like to buy big soda
bottles, etc., maybe take a peek at something with similar
dimensions before you buy.

(More customer reviews)Amazon is great.
Purchase products all the time from them. However my wife and I
purchased a brand new KitchenAid refrigerator from Western
Appliance in August 2008. From the moment we got it, we've had
problems. First the inside light malfunctioned, then the digital
readout. The repairman has been here 4 times to try to repair it
and now that all the parts have been replaced still has no idea
what's wrong with it. The ice machine quit working on the third
service call, and we have no ice.
I have made numerous phone calls to Western Appliance, spoken to
Leo, the salesperson, and the manager. They just tell me to call
the Repairman.
This Saturday will be the fifth visit by another repairman from a
different service. We get the runn around when we ask for a
replacement from western Appliance, repair service center and
KitchenAid. Even though we purchased an extended warranty. I even
called KitchenAid myself and was told that even if we purchased the
warranty, it does not cover lemons or replacements.
Their service is atrocious at best, and now that they have made a
sale, we are virtually ignored or fobbed off. Worst of it is, the
repair company under their contract has no idea what they're
doing.
This is the worst service I've ever encountered from an appliance
store or manufacture. DO NOT BUY ANY APPLIANCES FROM WESTERN
APPLIANCE or KITCHENAID. You will regret it if it should ever
malfunction.
It is now Novenber 2008 and I have NO LIGHTS, NO DIGITAL READOUT,
AND NO ICE from my brand new KitchenAid refrigerator, and am
waiting for a "second Opinion" from another repair co, while being
ignored by Western Appliance.
I am so frustrated with all the waiting and phone calls I've had to
make, not to mention all the work time I've lost waiting the 4
hours window for the repairmen to show up. I was on hold one hour
with the mother company only to be told I had to get a second
opinion from another repair co. How long does this have to go on
before we can get a functioning refrigerator?
Western Appliance, South Bay Repair and KitchenAid should really
look at their practices and know that they are losing many
potential and future customers because I will tell any and all who
will listen about the shoddy way they treat their customers.
I also intend to notify consumer agencies as well as the Better
Business Bureau, because I've had enough of their stall
tactics.

(More customer reviews)I love this
refrigerator. I have owned it for a year and a half (with no
problems). Below is my opinion based on each feature:
1. French Doors. I love them. THe left door has a flap that sort of
flattens out as you close the door to seal against the right
door.Because of the little flap, the right crisper drawer does not
pull all the way out if the left door is closed. Alternatively, you
CAN keep the right door closed and pull the left crisper drawer all
the way out. Anyhow I usually end up opening both doors when i go
to the fridge, so it will take 2 hands, but i still love the french
door look.
2. Inside water dispenser. Love that too. THe only bad design is
the button to get the water is a few inches above the actual
dispenser. it is difficult for me to get a glass of water with one
hand; i usually hold the glass with one hand and press the button
with the other. But i do like this design much better than the
'outside of the door' water dispenser; i think this fridge has a
cleaner look. I didn't even notice the inside water dispenser at
first, it takes up VERY LITTLE room which is great!
3. Drawer freezer. I like it enough for what I have (bachelorette
food like hot pockets and lean cuisines). I expected it to hold a
bit more than it really does. I do like the fact that it's wire
baskets that hold my food rather than a solid surface; sorta
eliminates cleaning.THe reason i don't TOTALLY love this freezer is
simply because if I had a bowl of liquid, i would have to be VERY
CAREFUL to freeze it (such as an extra water bowl for my dog).
Anything you want to be in the freezer will need to move/slide to
get it in there - i have to only fill the bowl 1/2 full of water or
else it will spill when i close the freezer door.
4. Adjustable "no spill" shelves. These are great. Everything is
adjustable which is perfect for me. I adjust them quite a bit
actually. Also there is a small lip on each shelf so if something
leaks, it won't drip down the back wall of the fridge. I like this
idea. Also the shelves pull out a few inches in case you have
something in the back you need to reach.
Overall this is a great fridge. It also beeps after a few minutes
if you accidently don't close a door all the way. Temperature of
both the fridge and freezer are displayed at the top inside of the
fridge. Very easy/intiutive to adjust. Those small flaws listed
above are very easy for me to live with; i would buy this
refrigerator again. And, i love the stainless steel look!
