(More customer reviews)This color didn't have the iradescent swirls that I expected from the picture.The color is just hot hot pink.So I was a little disappointed, then when I tried to take the polish off I found it completely impermeable by nail polish remover, and alchohol.The polish itself hasn't had any negative effects on my nails, no staining or weakening of my nail.It has a great finish, and doesn't peel or chip easily.I'm guessing I'll have to by sparitual nail polish remover, but receiving my shipment from them was so plesant I don't think I'll mind.They included a free sample and the store bag in the box so when I opened it I really felt like I just left one of their stores!

(More customer reviews)Essie is my favorite nail polish brand, the amount of shades made is incredible and while they stay on the safe and pretty side they are stunning and slightly different enough that I want to have them all. Two coats are all I need for shiny, strong nails and with a good top coat it lasts a few days.

In the past I would stick to pale colors such as Ballet Slipper, Potato Fields, Sugar Daddy, Waltz or Marshmallow. Now I love the black wine color called Wicked but my absolute favorite is Geranium - a wild, flaming orange/red tomato that people always seem to complement me on. I wear it with short nails of course and since getting it two weeks ago I am unable to change it, I repainted my nail 3 times since and they have been Geranium all the way through. Great for the summer, I can't wait to break out my flip flops and rock my toes with this color.

Nars is very creative in developing colors that are different and fun. They go on smoothly and wear well. I put ona glittery one for the holidays and did that ever stay on. I had to rub and rub to get it off. There is a variety of colors aimed to please all different people and different moods. They concoct colors that have an unusual hue along with some very pretty standards. Isn't that what we want in a nail polish?

(More customer reviews)I have been straightening my hair for 30 yrs. I used to use lye relaxers and then in 2006 tried Matrix Opti Smooth. I will NEVER use anything else again! It makes my ahir PIN straight, baby soft and silky smooth. I just redid my hair last week with Matrix OptiSmooth.I know that many people read these reviews before making their purchase and here's my experience and how I do it to ensure the best results. I went to my sytlist in Feb to have this done and was disappointed, I am better at this than she is.

Hair Type: Fine with medium to strong curl. Be sure you choose the product for hair texture! If you fine hair even if it is virgin hair use sensitive formula. Coarse hair will need the normal or coarse. DO not use if you have used a lye relaxer or if your hair is bleached. You are taking a HUGE risk if you do. I use sensitive formula. Mistake 1 my stylist made, wrong formula. She fried my hair and didn't take out the curls!Tools:YOU MUST HAVE A GOOD CERAMIC IRON! DO YOUR RESEARCH ON THIS!! It will make all the difference. I got a Bablyiss Pro on Amazon.[...]
Cheaper irons or the titanium irons. Titanium is metal it WILL RUIN your hair when using Opti Smooth! Mistake 2 my hairdresser made!

PRE STRAIGHTENING: 2 weeks before you straighten deep condition your hair 4x with Redken extreme CAT.This is a pure protein product and will prevent your hair from frying. The CAT will strengthen your hair by 65% after 4 treatments. They used to print on the label. Follow with a heavy moisturizing conditioner like Chi organics olive paste. You want your hair to be over conditioned!

Straightening: There a few tips I have learned over the past 4 yrs of using this. If you have never done this before do a strand test to determine your processing time.
1)Pre treat per directions Don't forget the pre treat spray! It's better to use a bit to much of this than not enough.
a)Apply the straight creme. GENTLY smooth your hair a bit with the palms of your hands while it is processing. Keep a few damp paper towels by you just in case your ends over process.
2) Set your Iron to 450 degrees F or as close to it as your iron will go. Another use a professional iron. This is CRITICAL! VERY thin sections of hair and make sure it looks straight and smooth. It may take more than 3x.
3)Neutralizing: You MUST comb it through for the full 10 min. I comb and smooth. Comb w/one hand and smooth with the other. Mistake 3 my stylist made

(More customer reviews)Hard As Wraps isn't cheap - I get it on sale at my local drugstore, CVS, or Rite-Aid.But it works like a charm.I use OPI's Nail Envy Maintenance as a base coat (one or two coats) and this as the "polish" coat.I finish up with Seche Vite top coat, which hardens and quickly dries the whole manicure.Hard As Wraps is thick and gel-like, really protecting your nails from the elements of daily life, like dishwashing, cleaning, and housework.I won't use anything else as my "polish" coat.This comes in many different colors, but I use the clear because I don't like drawing extra attention to my nails.Don't be fooled either, the color on this is "Clear/Top Coat".If you don't use a quick-dry top coat on top of Hard As Wraps, it will smudge and ding if you do anything before it dries in 30-60 minutes' time.But if you use a quick-dry topcoat, you're good to go after 2 minutes.

Definitely do not shake the bottle - roll it slowly between your palms.If you shake it, your manicure will dry with tiny bubbles in it.

(More customer reviews)Every product Deborah Lippmann makes is exceptional, including this one. This is my favorite top coat. It is so hard, and super super shiny. Super beautiful. It is pricey, but a whole different world away from cheap drugstore top coats, or even any other brand I've ever used. It really is "hard" as a "rock". No yellowing, long-lasting, quick drying, everything anyone could possibly want in a top coat or used alone.

I am glad that it hydrates and helps troubled nails. My nails are fine, so I haven't experienced that. But I think it will prevent me from having future problems from using harsh products or acetone remover. This product is pricey, but worth every penny.

Highly recommended.

14 Day Nail Shield Review

(More customer reviews)I have wished for years for a product like this. These tape-like strips do exactly what they are advertised to do; strengthen nails against peeling and splitting - immediately, with no drying time required.

They stay on without chipping like nail polish, last two weeks or longer (though grow-out does encourage occasional re-application), add a nice gloss to nails with just a hint of natural color. If you prefer to lose the gloss, that's easily accomplished by slightly roughing the surface with the buffer to leave a matte finish. When de-glossed, grow-out is virtually invisible.

It's possible to economize if your nails are short: shields are long enough to cut in half.

These shields are almost instant. The nail does need to be "prepped": clean and buffed smooth with the included buffer for effective adherence. Because I can't tolerate the fumes from nail polishes or removers, this is a great alternative. There is some synthetic smell for the first few hours, but much milder than polish. Old strips can be removed by gently scraping them off with a fingernail, though the mfgr. does suggest using polish remover.
