How do I determine a fair price for my American Girl Samantha collection?

I have a fairly sizable collection of the Samantha Parkington clothes, furniture, and accessories, not to mention the doll itself. My items date from the pre-Mattel years, approximately 1997. I'm looking to sell that collection on eBay, but I'm having trouble finding a definitive pricing guide. I've browsed countless internet sites and some books on doll collecting, but I haven't really found what I need. Does anyone know of a good source for this information, short of appealing directly to an appraiser? Thanks :)
