Helping Affiliate Marketers Make More Money

Is The Affiliate Program You Are Joining Multi-Tiered?

Look For Affiliate Programs That Let You Recruit

As you become more active as an affiliate marketer, you will find that there are some affiliate marketing programs that not only allow for you to make money from your own affiliate sales, but they also allow you to profit from the sales of those whom you introduce to their affiliate marketing program.

So for instance, say that you join an affiliate program such as Commission River, and that you begin making big cash by selling cellular phones via their affiliate marketing program. As people visit your affiliate site (the site containing the cell phones) they will find a link that brings them to a landing page containing an offering for an opportunity to become an affiliate marketer (publisher) with Commission River. When people fill out the information form and thereby become affiliate marketers (publishers), their enrollment is credited to you as a referrer.

AMulti-TieredAffiliateProgramIsLikeYourOwnATMMachine

A Multi-Tiered Affiliate Program Is Like Your Own ATM Machine

Once a new affiliate marketer is credited to you as the referrer, you will make a percentage of the commission that the new affiliate makes when he or she makes a sale. So essentially you will have two streams of income coming from Commission River; your sales stream and your referral’s sales stream. Therefore, as you introduce more people into their affiliate marketing program, you increase your income. This is a great way to become what they call a super affiliate.

But Wouldn’t I Create More Affiliate Competition?

Now, you must understand that whenever an affiliate marketer joins a particular affiliate marketing program, you have another online business or affiliate to compete with. Meaning then that when you bid for advertising, you could end up paying more for that advertising, and you decrease your chance of making a sale, since your market share is reduced with each new affiliate marketer that the company recruits.

However, you must also realize that if you do not recruit any of these affiliates you will not make one red cent from their sales. So it is better to actively recruit new affiliates for the products that you represent as an affiliate marketer, so that you can at least stand to make some money out of the affiliates that compete against you.

Now think about that for a moment. Where have you heard that you can profit from the money that your competition makes? If you sell pet supplies, for instance, and you are competing with one of the big pet supply chains out there, you make absolutely no money whatsoever from the millions in sales that they make. Of course, if you join their affiliate program, you will make some money from their sales, and if you recruit people to join their affiliate program, then you make money on that also. So essentially, you will make money from your own online pet store, and from your competitors’ online sales. This can be quite profitable, and could mean the difference between being competitive or not.

So What Are Some Good Multi-Tiered Programs Out There?

First let me tell you, that you should look for affiliate programs from products that are easy to sell. For instance, get involved with pet supplies; cell phones, telecommunications and software products are easy to sell. That is to say, as you travel the Internet and connect with other people, you will be able to find a high percentage of online surfers that have a need for the products that you are marketing. However, you should avoid products that are heavy or way to expensive. After all, chances are that you will not make sales on these products because of the high price of shipping, which motivates potential buyers to visit local retail sources in order to save money.

Also, beware of network marketing programs that masquerade as affiliate marketing programs. An affiliate program will never require you to invest any cash in order to participate. Network marketing programs will often present the proposition that they are in fact an affiliate program, but you can only make money from the program when you pay a fee, or your commission is a reduced amount until you join their program as a “paid associate”. So look out for that, and remember that true affiliate marketing programs do not require you to buy anything.

Some of the companies or markets out there that I would try out their affiliate marketing programs are: Commission River and just about any Pet Supplies Affiliate Program. If you are connected to a lot of entrepreneurs, you might try programs like JROX, Low Stress Income. The opportunities to make money from affiliate marketing are endless. 12 Ways To Build Your Affiliate Downline List

alt

Your Affiliate Downline List Holds The Key To Great Profits!

Using Email Marketing To Develop Active Affiliates

In an article I wrote previously under the title 9 Steps To Becoming A Super Affiliate, one of the things that I outlined as a necessity to becoming a super affiliate is the usage of email marketing to develop and maintain an active group of affiliates. After all, what good is it to have thousands of affiliate marketers in your affiliate downline if those affiliates do not sell anything?
The reason emailing your affiliate downline is key to your success is that it provides you with an opportunity to communicate with and motivate the folks that you have recruited to market affiliate products under you. Also, by using carefully crafted email-training campaigns, you can teach your affiliates how to become more profitable, which in turn it will make you more profitable. So it is a win-win situation for all those involved.

What Not To Email Your Affiliates

Now, mailing your affiliates to sell them products all the time is a big mistake as far as I am concerned. Personally, I have joined affiliate blogs or affiliate newsletters that promise to deliver content that will help me become more profitable, and to my dismay, all I get is offer after offer for affiliate related gimmicks.

That is such a waste of my time, and it is so annoying. I am sure most folks would feel the same exact way if you promised to help them make more money and instead tried to sell them something every time you email them., so be careful with trying to approach your downline list as if it was a customer list. If you do, you might find yourself blacklisted, and you will loose the chance of making profits from the affiliates that leave your list.
Therefore, in order to build and retain your affiliate downline list here are 12 ways that you should keep in mind:

1.      Provide your affiliates useful, relevant content. Your affiliates signed up under you because they want to make profits from the products that they became affiliates for. They are not interested on fairy tails, they want information about the products, price changes, tools they can use to sell them etc Be relevant.

2.      Offer your affiliates more opportunities to sell products. Affiliates love nothing more than new products to sell, Make sure that you keep them informed about new affiliate programs and affiliate products that they can join up to represent.

3.      Tell them about new social media sites. Social networking is a great way for your affiliates to share their affiliate products and make huge sales. Make sure that you tell you affiliates about the good social networks that you and other affiliates are using to make sales, as well as the techniques you have implemented.

4.      Start a social media site or group for you affiliates. One way you can create a sense of unity and loyalty amongst your affiliate marketers is by setting up a group or a social network where you can connect in addition to your emails. Encourage your affiliates to upload their own photo instead of using a generic avatar. This will help you put a face to the name, and it will make your virtual communication experience more personal.

5.      Publish a Privacy Policy. Let your affiliate marketers know that they can trust you will not share their information with others. The easiest way to do this is to set up a Privacy Policy web page and provide the link to it below your opt-in form. (Note: If you don’t have one, put the words “privacy policy generator” into a search engine and you should be able to find a suitable form to use.)

6.      Archive past emails and articles to your super affiliate site. An online library of past emails and articles is both appealing and useful to visitors and builds your credibility as a super affiliate. In addition, I recommend that whenever you write your emails to your affiliate marketers, that you do so with SEO in mind. As you post this SEO enhance emails to an archive on your site you will be increasing traffic to your website through enhanced search engine positioning. This of course will help you recruit more affiliate marketers.

7.      Give gifts and hold contest. Affiliate marketing, although very profitable, can also be very challenging. Many affiliate marketers loose hope and drop out of the ranks due to poor sales and loss of hope. Motivate your affiliates by offering bonuses or prices for the most sales. Do you have a good e-book that you can give them? They make great gifts and incentives!

8.      Ask your affiliate marketers to pass it on. Word of mouth is a very powerful viral technique that works great with email marketing. If your affiliates find your content interesting, amusing or informative, they’ll probably share it with other affiliate marketers or associates. This can be a great source of new affiliate marketers for your downline, so make sure to remind them to “pass it on”.

9.      Let others reprint your emails as long as the content is not modified. If you’re happy to share your content with the universe, then why not! Many webmasters and newsletter publishers are actively looking for high-quality content and, if they reprint your informative emails, you’ll get new subscribers, and more traffic and links pointing to your super affiliate site.

10.  Share your down line’s success. This is imperative. If you are as good as you say you are, the affiliate marketers under your downline will also become a success story. When you have an affiliate that is earning cash because of your help, let every one in the world know. Post their testimony in your emails and on your super affiliate site!

11.  Blog, Blog and Blog. If you do not have a super affiliate blog then what are you waiting for. Blogs that are updated with valuable affiliate marketing content will become a sensation with the search engines. This will bring affiliate marketing prospects to you, and many of those prospects will sign up under your downline.

12.  Post on other blogs and forums. Find other blogs and forums that deal with affiliate marketing, and then post comments there. Please do not post comments filled with links to your super affiliate site. This is unprofessional and more than likely send your comment to the Spam folder. Instead be constructive, share some of your knowledge. This will establish you as an authority in the affiliate marketing field, and your authority will help you affiliate marketer recruiting efforts.

9 Steps To Becoming a Super Affiliate

Affiliate vs. Super Affiliate: What’s the Difference?

In the world of affiliate marketing, we often hear the terms affiliate and super affiliate being used interchangeably. Some argue that a super affiliate is nothing more than an affiliate who is successful in the affiliate marketing business, and who shares his/her success by writing about it in a blog or a website. Others believe, that a super affiliate is essentially an affiliate that makes over a certain amount of money; say $100,000.00 per year, solely from engaging in the affiliate marketing trade.

If you were to enter the search term “super affiliate” in the Merriam-Webster online dictionary you will come out empty. However, when you enter the term “super” we come up with “very large or powerful”.

We know from my previous article, 10 Steps to Getting Started on Affiliate Marketing, that an affiliate marketer is essentially an online salesman. So if we team up the definition we got from the Merriam-Webster dictionary with what we already know from my previous article, we can conclude that a super affiliate is a very powerful online salesman.

So How Can One Become A Super Affiliate?

I think that the secret to becoming a Super Affiliate lies on a mixture of variables that work together in order to produce a level of sales that generate a high enough income to have an affiliate rank among the highest paid on the affiliate marketing industry.

One thing I feel is prevalent among Super Affiliates is that they tend to be very consistent and persistent on how they approach the task of affiliate marketing. Most of those who have reached the coveted Super Affiliate rank are very methodical and have elaborate testing done on a regular basis.

In looking for traits that can highlight the doorway to the winning ways of the highest paid members of the affiliate marketing world, I noticed that there are several things that Super Affiliates seem to have in common. I feel that if an affiliate marketer wants to reach a high level of sales, he or she will do well to mimic these commonalities.

Steps or Habits Followed By Most Super Affiliates

1.  Represent or market products from well established affiliate marketing programs such as Commission River, LinkConnector (Find out more about the benefits of becoming a LinkConnector Merchant.), LinkShare.com, PayDotCom, and shareasale.com to name a few.

2.  Represent affiliate marketing programs with a multi-tiered compensation plan. This allows you to build and affiliate downline, which in turn duplicates or multiplies your efforts.

3.  Acquire or register domain names and use them to develop websites from where you can market the affiliate products you represent.

4.  Write or post articles about the affiliate marketing products that you represent. Preferably this will be your own articles on your own developed domain names.

5.  Set up and use lead capture pages in order to develop email list of possible costumers, or possible affiliates.

6.  Use emailing to present special affiliate product offers to your prospects and to drive traffic to your sites.

7.  Develop and test landing pages in order to increase your sales.

8.  Study or learn about SEO (search engine optimization), SEM (search engine marketing), and other Internet marketing strategies in order to become a proficient online marketer.

9.  Repeat successful processes constantly. Being persistent is a necessity. Never give up.

11 Steps to Picking Affiliate Marketing Products that Sell

Everyone Is Talking About Making Money With Affiliate Marketing

So you have heard from many folks out there that there is money in affiliate marketing.  If you look at the conversations taking place in Twitter, you will notice that just about everyone is doing affiliate marketing. In fact, many people who join Twitter with the intent to make extra income are using affiliate marketing as the vehicle to make online profits.

If you are involved with social networking, more than likely you have come across a social network friend that has tried to sell you some form of affiliate marketing product. As a matter of fact, there are social networks such as Apsense, Adland Pro, Affiliate Downline, and others that were put together with affiliate marketers in mind.

The fact that online merchants and entrepreneurs have put so much effort into developing Internet technology and websites to further the spread of the affiliate marketing concept is evidence of its popularity and profitability.

Is it Really Possible to Make Money With Affiliate Marketing?

Some claim that they are making a fortune with affiliate marketing, while others will tell you simply that they are making good cash. Sometimes it is difficult to separate fact from fiction when dealing with affiliate marketers. I know I often ask myself if those who claim to be making millions selling other peoples products online are really making as much money as they claim.

Perhaps you are wondering yourself, “Is it possible to make money with affiliate marketing?” That it is possible to earn a substantial amount of money by joining an affiliate marketing program cannot be disputed. Many are in fact making a comfortable living with affiliate marketing as their only source of income. However, you must ensure that when you join an affiliate marketing program, you do so to sell a product that will actually be profitable enough for your effort.

Here Are The Questions You Should Ask Before Choosing An Affiliate Product

In order to ascertain whether or not an affiliate marketing product has the potential to become a great source of revenue for you, there are certain questions that you must ask yourself. Failure to explore these questions in depth can lead you to spend a lot of energy and other resources unwisely. Looking at this questions as part of your over all strategy for choosing a profitable affiliate marketing product, will increase your chances of becoming what the industry refers to as a Super Affiliate. So without any more hesitation, here are the profit making questions you should ask:

1. Would I buy that? – If you will not buy the affiliate product ask yourself  why not? Can you sell something you don’t believe on?

2. Do a lot of people buy this type of product? – Is this one of those products who everyone wants? Cell Phones are a prime example of that.

3. Are a lot of businesses selling this product? – If everyone seems to be selling the affiliate product you are evaluating do you thing you will have a good share of the market? Perhaps competition is too much too handle.

4. Are other affiliate marketing programs selling this product? – If other affiliate marketing programs are selling the product in question, does the same company manufacture it? If not, is the other product more recognized? Brands do matter!

5. Is the price for the product competitive? – Nothing sells worse than an over priced product. People want to save money, especially with this economy. Would you pay more for the same?

6. Does the product-landing page sell? – You can drive traffic to the affiliate product page all day long, but if the landing page does not convert you are wasting your time!

7. Is it possible to link to the landing page directly? – If the only way to link to the affiliate product is via banners, you will not be selling much unless you have a website that gets tons of traffic.

8. Are the banners provided for the product appealing? – Some banners simply do not convert. I have seen banners that appeared to have been put together by a first grader. Stay away especially if the affiliate program allows only banner linking.

9. Does the affiliate program provide product articles and e-mail templates? – Some folks have the ability to write content on a regular basis, but even then it is hard to keep up with the pace. Being able to get content to sell an affiliate product is a great advantage.

10. Will my visitors be interested on this type of product? – Suppose you have a web site that specializes on domain name registration and domain name hosting, would you be successful if you tried to sell auto parts to your prospective clients?

11. How easy is it to write about this product? – Take a look at the affiliate product and if you can’t come up with several article ideas within a few minutes, you might want to reconsider getting involved with said affiliate program.

7 Ways to Choosing High Commission Affiliate Programs

What Is Your Goal?

Your success in affiliate marketing depends to a great extend on what your financial goals are. For instance, if you are already financially independent and do not need much income, you may consider yourself a success if you make a couple hundred dollars worth of commission every six months.

However, most of us get involved with affiliate marketing because we need the money or want to reach a high income on a regular basis.

Reach For The Sky: Make Huge Profits!

So if you are looking to make a huge income from affiliate marketing, you need to make sure that you maximize your time by choosing an affiliate program that pays high commissions. Naturally, you need to ensure that you take into account the amount of time that you have to spend marketing the affiliate program, otherwise you run the risk of not making as much as you want.

So you have to strike a balance between the amount of resources (time, money, etc.) that it will cost you (time is money!) to get a sale for a given product, and you have to look at the amount of money that the affiliate program will pay for your efforts. Your goal here is t spend as little time, money and other resources marketing your products. This will ensure that you are profitable, and it will ensure that you have more time available to market other affiliate products when they become available.

What Exactly Should You Look For?

Once you establish your goals and calculate the amount of time, money and other resources that you are willing to use in your affiliate venture, you should begin searching for affiliate products that match your needs.

There are several ways that you can analyze an affiliate program in order to determine if the affiliate program meets your high commission requirements. Looking into these particular aspects of an affiliate program can make or break your affiliate marketing experience. So without further delay, lets look at these affiliate program aspects now:

  1. Is the affiliate product something with a broad market segment? Usually the broader the market is, the easier it is to place your online advertising in a variety of websites without spending an arm and a leg. In addition, everyone is a potential buyer, so this product will provide you opportunity to market it with just about everything you do online.
  2. If the affiliate product has a broad market segment, is there a lot of competition? More than likely, others saw the potential for selling this product, so competition may be fierce. For example, everyone needs a cell phone, but the online store market for cell phones is saturated and dominated by the wireless giants. You can still compete, but competing for Pay Per Click advertising, or getting a number one ranking with the search engines will be nearly impossible.
  3. Is the affiliate product in a niche market? If you have an established client base, you might want to consider getting involved with an affiliate product that caters to a market niche. For example, I have at Dog Directory, which is obviously suited for affiliate products for dogs. I can target dog-related businesses, or I can try to reach people with dogs. Furthermore, if you have a client base, you can use email advertising to reach your email list. Specialized or niche affiliate products tend to pay higher commissions than broad market affiliate products.
  4. Does the affiliate program have enough resources to support your marketing efforts? Creative material, link texts, articles for blogs, sample emails are all resources that can tremendously simplify your marketing campaigns. Remember that the less time you have to spend on a particular affiliate product, the more commission or the more profit you will make. So, be concerned with affiliate programs that do not provide enough resources to help you make sales.
  5. Does the affiliate program only pays you for the initial sales or will it pay you for every sale once the customer gets to their site via your affiliate marketing efforts? If they only pay for the first purchase, they had better pay you a very high commission for your efforts. After all, they could end up with a lifetime costumer, and you will end up spending a lifetime getting customers for them.
  6. How often and when does the affiliate program pay? The last thing you want to do is wait forever before you get pay. Some affiliate programs pay monthly regardless of the amount of money that you have made. Others pay monthly but you have to meet certain threshold. This is crucial to your profitability!
  7. Does the affiliate program allow you to recruit sub affiliates? Being able to recruit other affiliates will expand your market reach for the affiliate product you are selling without having to spend more on advertisements. Imagine being able to have an army of sub affiliates making money for you!

10 Steps to Getting Started in Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing’s Great Profit Potential

Affiliate marketing is to me one of the most wide-open income opportunities in the Internet today. For one, affiliate marketing is the type of industry that can be started by just about anyone out there. It is easy to learn, and usually, it can be the type of business that a person can start without having to invest a dime.

However, I must warn you, affiliate marketing is not a get rich quick type of endeavor. Yet, for a person that is willing to spend some time promoting the affiliate product that they signed up for, depending on the commission structure, and the cost of the product, one can earn a substantial income from affiliate marketing in a relatively short period of time.

What Exactly is Affiliate Marketing?

To those of you who are not familiar with affiliate marketing, let me give you a quick over view of what affiliate marketing is about. First, you have the online store owners. These folks have products to sell online. In order to get people to visit their online store, these folks have to find the most cost effective means possible.

They could spend thousands of dollars in advertising online, paying for clicks to their site that might or might not culminate in a product sale. Often times, unless they have a product that is not readily available online, most people come to their site for comparison-shopping and within minutes of getting to their site, the prospects leave.

So they end up paying for clicks that do not produce any income, something that can be a disaster if it happens a lot. Now, with affiliate marketing, the tide is turn. Essentially, they pay folks like you and me for referring clients to their site. Once the client makes a purchase, they pay a commission to you for referring the client.

Steps to Follow When Choosing an Affiliate Program

That is simple enough right! However, you as an affiliate need to make sure you are referring people to products that will make you a good profit; otherwise, you will be wasting your time, and sometimes your money. So here is what you need to watch for and do when becoming an affiliate:

1)      Chose an Affiliate Program that pays high commission- more on affiliate commissions.

2)      Make sure you pick a product that has a demand- more on affiliate products that sell.

3)      Ask if the affiliate program has a master affiliate program- more on down line building.

4)      Make sure the affiliate program offers free resources- more on free affiliate resources.

5)      Examine if you will represent the affiliate program as an individual or a business- more on choosing a tax status.

6)      Find out how the affiliate program pays- more on affiliate commission payouts.

7)      Check the affiliate program’s reputation- more on reputable affiliate programs.

8)      Plan how you will promote the affiliate product- more on affiliate product advertising.

9)      Consider getting a website to promote your affiliate product- more on developing an affiliate site.

10)  Can the affiliate product sell well next to another affiliate product that is similar- more on selling affiliate marketing products that are similar.
