If you taught makeovers were only for the fashion industry think again. T-Mobile USA announced recently that it would be giving a major overhaul to many of its plans. Now, in many of the make over shows that we see on TV, the person being made over is in desperate need, but in the case of T-Mobile, they are making what was great even better.
One of the areas that will be seeing a great improvement on the company’s data plans. Instead of the limit of 2 GB per customer that was previously established, now T-Mobile will allow customers the opportunity to chose between 200 MB, 2 GB, 5 GB or 10 GB.
“The company’s new unlimited talk and text plans start at about $70 per month for the 200 MB data cap and go up to about $120 for the 10 GB data cap. Feature phone users who don’t need a data plan can pay $60 for unlimited texts and voice minutes.”(Wireless Week)

So what are you waiting for, your not going to find a better deal than this one.
A couple of years back I was the owner of a computer repairs business. Essentially I went and became an A+ Comptia Certified technician and when I went looking for a job as a computer technician, I was not able to find one. So I figured, what the heck, I might as well start my own business, no sense on letting all that training go to waste.
My start up budget was non-existent; my knowledge of owning an operating a business was crude. My telephone system consisted of my home phone and a cheap answering machine. However, I was determined to make something out of a dismal situation, so I refused to give up and moved forward with my new enterprise.
Because I did not understand the importance of telephone communications with prospective clients and customers, I would often miss a lot of opportunities due to my lack of professional telephone presence, and my ineffective way for handling phone messages.
You see, phone communications is one of those things that can really make or break a small business, especially if the business is being operated from home. I really wish I had taken the time to put an effective phone system in place, had I done that, I would still be in business today.
Now, I know that whenever someone spoke with me on the phone my customers heard my ‘working from home’ voice loud and clear. Not that working from home is a negative thing in itself (there are many very successful business operating out of homes out there today), but in my community, for whatever reason, there was a stigma associated with home operated business at the time I was trying to get off the ground.
Consequently, people had a tendency to expect me to charge fees that were way below the norm for the type of services I offered, and that proved to be an up hill battle that I was never able to overcome. Some of this folks were eager to pay Geek Squad substantially higher rates, but because I was a little guy working from home, I was supposed to work for less.
This came as a result of their first impression of me. Essentially, when they called, they got some unprofessional little guy on his home phone, and who was obviously using a home answering machine to run his business.
Looking back at what could have been a prosperous business, I now realized that if I had taken the time to research the different options for small business telecommunications, I would still be in business today.
For instance, iTeleCenterTM Virtual Phone System is a phone system that allows small businesses, home operated businesses and the like to enjoy “all the features of a high-end, robust phone system – features like private toll-free number, voice mail, multiple extensions, send/receive faxes online, enhanced call forwarding, and music-on-hold (to name just a few) – but without the hassle and pain normally associated with such systems…and at a mere fraction of the cost.” (iTeleCenter)
A professional phone system like that would have certainly given me a much professional look and feel that would have translated to trust and confidence from my customers, and higher fees to increase my revenue.
Now, I went out of business already, so not much I can do now. However, perhaps you can learn from my experience and invest a little on your phones system. This might be added weapon that you need to take your small business to the next level. This could be what will give your home business a new live filled with satisfied customers, prestige and a bank account to show it.
Business Owners Must Keep A Close Eye On Expenses
If you are anything like most small business owners out there you are constantly watching your cash flow. Having enough cash in hand for when opportunities or problems arise is important for the life of your business.
One of the best ways to keep one business liquid is by carefully looking at operational expenses, and by taking those expenses and cutting them in half.
Now, in the surface, it appears that accomplishing control of operational expenses is a simple task, but because operational expenses are normally not fixed, controlling these expenses is normally very difficult.
One typical and necessary business expense that many have difficulty controlling is the business phone bill. Phone services are a necessity to all businesses, and they can bankrupt businesses if the phone bill gets out of hand. One could try making less phone calls every month, but cutting down on communications with ones clients could have an adverse effect on a business. However, there is a better way to control business calling expenses.
How Using VOIP Services Can Save Your Business
By getting VOIP phone services, business owners can control their monthly phone bill. So rather than neglecting service to their clients by not returning their calls, or by calling them less often, subscribing to voice over internet protocol services allows a business to maintain or increase its call volume for a lot less money!
Here is what I mean. Say you were spending $300.00 a month on your phone calls every month. By getting voice over Internet protocol or VOIP, you can reduce the cost of your phone bill dramatically. Essentially the way most VOIP services work is by charging a set monthly fee for providing their phone services. So rather than being shocked every month whenever you open your phone bill, you will already know before hand what your total cost for phone services will be.
Many voice over Internet protocol providers have some sweet deals that could help you reduce your business phone bill by more than half. Take for instance 8×8,Inc. This company has a calling package that offers business owners unlimited calling to anywhere in the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Guam and calls to land lines in France, Italy, Ireland,Spain and the United Kingdom!
This unlimited calling package will give business owners the opportunity to eliminate long distance charges, and that will reduce calling charges drastically. So if you paid $300.00 a month or more for similar phone services before, you can now get the same type of business phone service for only $39.99 . So you can see that the amount of money that can be saved by getting 8×8,Inc. is astronomical!
Get VOIP Services Today and Start Making More Profits
