(More customer reviews)If you have never serged before, be prepared to be frustrated. I bought this serger a few months back.It took over an hour to thread.The documentation was brief and poor, without giving a thorough explanation of the machine's operations.Granted it was my first serger experience, but it entailed having to call the folks at Kenmore to have a service specialist call me back and talk me through another 45 minutes.The serger does not come with basic accessories, such as a looper threader, that really is needed for this model.

Then there was the DVD.The first 15 minutes were on threading the machine.After that, you discover all the neat things that the machine can do if you buy an assortment of presser feet or attachments.This got me so disgusted that I started looking for another serger and returned the Kenmore to Sears. And it must be said that all of this really surprised me, since I've been sewing for 30 years and have always been pleased with the quality of Kenmore machines.

Anyway, through online research, I saw that the Sewing-with-Nancy E-Z Lock machine is a much better value for your money. So I bought it and can say that:
- Its documentation is thorough enough to talk you through threading, though this machine's design makes the process easier.
- Attachments mentioned in the other DVD are included
- There is an accessory box with lots of goodies, including extra serger blades
- A handle (surprisingly missing on the Kenmore)
- It allows for two needle stiches

Supplement it with Nancy Zieman's serger book to give even more ideas.

(More customer reviews)This is a fairly nice embroidery machine for the price.It does have a few things I don't like but overall I am glad that I purchased it.The embroidery designs sew out beautifully!And getting a machine that you can hook directly to your pc is definately the way to go! It elimanates pricy design disks and cards.You can find lots of great desings on the web to purchase and download to use on this machine plus it accepts many formats.What I don't like about the embroidery aspect is the fact that the large hoop is not a true 5X7.So I have to resize a lot of my designs to fit the hoop.I really wish they offered a larger hoop as an extra accessory!The digitizing software that comes with the 200 is not that spectacular.You can take simple clipart pictures and turn them into embroidery but nothing too complex and the software dosen't allow you to make appliques.I think you can get better digitizing software elsewhere.It also only comes with 2 fonts: courier and block.You can purchase a disk with extra fonts but the disks for this machine are expensive! I think they run around $200.The sewing part of this machine I rarely use mostly because I have a Euro Pro sewing machine that I sew on and comparing the 2 I am all for the Euro Pro hands down.This machine seams to sew a little "rough" in comparison.Overall I think this is a Great starter embroidery machine at a good price.

(More customer reviews)I recently bought this model of embroidery machine (not from Amazon).
I researched machines for a few weeks, and being a single girl in my early 20's, I didn't have much money to spend on one. So the Vikings that run you thousands of dollars were out of the question.
I read all the reviews on the 350 I could find. It was about half positive, half negative. I found a really good deal (machine, thread, bobbins, stabilizer, and all 5 software programs for $1,000) and decided that it was affordable for me, and since I'm new to embroidery I didn't need something really fancy anyway. Most of the bad reviews were about the error message popping up saying the thread is broke. Being an experienced and avid seamstress, I decided they must be threading it wrong or just using cheap, thin thread that's not meant for embroidery machines.
The first embroidery pattern I did was with the tutorial that came with my machine. It was so easy to do, and came out looking really good!
The next few patterns I did were also stock designs. Again, they looked okay. I got the error message about the thread breakage 50,000 times or so though. I'd check the bobbin, rethread the top, do everything I could think of, and a few stitches later it would beep at me again with the error message. I decided I was doing something wrong, read the manual front to back several times, looked up tutorials and discussion boards on the internet, everything. I have it down to a T. And still, it flashes the error.
But that's just where the trouble began.
After the 6th or 7th pattern I made, the machine turned to junk. It started ripping my fabric, skipping whole sections of stitching, the tension would go from way too tight (hence the fabric ripping) to way to loose, and loops would be left all over. I tried using every tension option, changed the needle to every weight and style, changed the stabilizer weight, changed thread brands and weights, changed fabrics......you name it, I did it. And the tension was still off. And my fabric was still being ripped.
Part of the reason I decided on this model was because it hooks up to your computer, and you can download your own images and designs. Let me tell you. NONE of the images I have made myself have turned out. And it's not because I'm doing something wrong or they simply aren't good embroidery patterns. Even simple two color designs don't work. The stitches ofthe two colors don't overlap at all, which causes gaps were there aren't supposed to be any. And then the fabric tears there. I've even contacted support about this, and they've walked me through all the steps.

Simply put, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS MACHINE!! Even if it works at first, the tension will be thrown off through no fault of your own, and you can spend days, weeks trying to fix it. But it won't fix. These machines are either just cheaply made, or they are defective and need to be recalled. I can't even use my machine anymore- the stitches are so uneven and ugly, if they are even there at all.

Don't be fooled by any of the positive reviews like I was- if you could talk to those same people now that they've had their machine for awhile and used it, they'd have the same tension, skipped stitch, and error complaints that the rest of us do.
Worst purchase ever.

(More customer reviews)The Little Gracie II Machine Quilting Frame is a marvelous, sturdy, easy to construct frame for home machine quilting.It takes time and patience but all parts are clearly labeled and it comes with both a guidebook and a DVD.Watch the DVD first to get a great overview.Now, The Janome part is another story:It is advertised in this package as the machine to use for quilting on this frame, which needs major clarification.It does not have a feed dog lowering feature so extra parts are needed which should come with the machine in order to make it work.There was only a straight foot and a hemmer in the Janome package (figure those for free form machine quilting??).The Janome siteis not clear in reference to support; in fact when contacting them they told me to go to a local dealer.There are no other guidelines for use other than the basic plug it in, thread it booklet, no accessories information, etc.I would buy the Little Gracie II by itself and find myself another long-arm quilting machine if I had it to do over for purchase. However, the support from Amazon has been great in helping me obtain the foot needed to make this system work as it should have as advertised.

This one had the functions I wanted, and had the best reviews I could find - very few poor reviews, actually, in all the places I could find sewing machine reviews on the internet. There aren't any here, so I thought I'd write one!

I got this machine in January, and have used it almost daily since then with no problems. The manual is great, and any snags I've run into have been easily solved - I've had to clean and oil it, since I've used a lot of linty material on it, but that's very easy to do and to be expected with lots of use!

It's much more quiet than my old Singer was. I don't have any complaints. There are features I'd like, but you have to buy a more expensive machine to get it all.

By the way, I paid about $170 for this with shipping. Search around a little for the best prices, they seem to vary widely.

The number from HSN shot me to India where they gave me another number that was always busy. Finally I got thier number in Canada. After being on hold for an HOUR, I ordered two sets of blades for $75. They were the wrong blades. I called again, wrong blades came, again. And this time they only sent me one set. HSN is getting this machine back and Euro Pro will not get any more of my money.

(More customer reviews)I recently broke a gear on my 28 yr old Singer Touch&Sew and decide to replace it with this model based on the features advertised and the editorial review. [no customer reviews available] What a disappointment.
Immediately noticeable is the poor lighting. The light shines on the left side of the thread plate,not on the stitching, and is made worse by a shadow from the auto needle threader.
Threading was easy but thread slips easily and frequently from the thread guide near the needle. I did not try the needle threader.I have been used to a self winding bobbin so winding the bobbin was annoying but not difficult. The bobbin cover is clear and must be lifted off instead of sliding out of the way,and is easily misplaced. The machine runs smoothly and quietly, but I am comparing it to a 28 yr old machine. Stitches are flat and even. Reverse stitching speed is slow only and you must release the foot pedal completely before going forward. this may be a good feature for a novice, but I found it to be tedious an time consuming. The feed on reverse is poor causing bunching.
Another annoying feature is the needle rising whenever you stop. You must push a button to lower the needle if you want to turn the fabric. These features really disturb the "flow" of your project. My last disappointment was the rolled hem pressor foot. The rolled edge is so far from the feed you must advance the fabric about an inch and a half unhemmed in order to stitch.I do not recommend this machine. I plan to return it and get my Touch& Sew repaired.

(More customer reviews)This Singer is no good.I have attempted sewing with this several times, and have unfortunaly been able to make only ONE successful line of stiching.I have played around with this so many times thinking that "maybe this time it will work" but it hasn't.I tried contacting Singer and got back a standard email that did not have anything to do with my question.Also, the instruction book that claims to be easy to read, explains things in a difficult manner, and the pictures that go along with it are no help.Therefore, I give up, and am taking it back.

It did not "set down" close enough after lowering the presser foot bar,2. While sewing the zipper, it slid freely along the little bar thus sliding under and breaking the needle.

(More customer reviews)The dinnerware is beautiful.The problem is that the dinner plates DO NOT have the Turkey on them.The dinner plates are of the Delamere pattern, which has the same brown border but nothing in the center.The salad plates and the mugs have the turkey emblem.The description states that each plate has the turkey on it.Spode does make the dinner plates with the turkey.I decided to keep the set because it was a great deal at the time and I can put the salad plate inside the dinner and it looks great or I can use the dinner plates at other times.

First off, this machine works off of 4 AA batteries or DC current; therefore, the piddly motor doesn't have enough power to drive the needle through anything but the lightest fabric.Next, upon assembly the foot petal did not work, thus the only way we could use the machine is by switching the power on or off.We tried it out for about 10 minutes and agreed that this machine, at any price, is a loser.Think about paying $20 more for the Brother LS2125I.
