(More customer reviews)This is our second time using this easy set pool style; we've moved to a larger size as our kids have grown.We actually contracted to put in an above ground pool, but after numerous headaches with the local pool company and the installer we ordered this and "installed" it in a weekend.

The trickiest part is getting the base level.A couple years ago it took us literally weeks to get correct.Now our circle is perfect, and I don't even mind what it looks like in the off-season before the snow covers the ground.

What happened to our former pool?We took it to the swap shop at our town's transfer station.Hopefully some other family enjoyed it last summer; it still had plenty of life in it.

(More customer reviews)This pool is fantastic.I had two other wet set models but had problems with leveling and the sides crashing in when a few kids get rowdy.The metal frame is very strong and holds up well even if your ground has a slight slant.I found it very easy to put up (about an hour).The filter could be better but it does the trick.My son and I are in the pool daily and love it!

Hose Conversion Adapters kit for Intex 1500gph and 2500gph pumps Review

(More customer reviews)First off, I don't know why anyone would order these adapters from any place other than Intex directly - the manufacturer. They sell them for about $2.50ea and you can get two, delivered anywhere for about $10.

Second, while they do attach nicely, they do cause the rest of the hose and attachments to stick out and pull down on the protruding 1 1/4" black nozzle as another poster indicated.

Finally, there is a design flaw in that the black gasket, on the end of the adapter that attaches to the plunger valve, is mated to a rim that is hollow. You can see this by just pulling the gasket back on that edge. Once assembled everything will work fine for a while. But after a few minutes, the gasket gets sucked into the hollow rim and causes air to enter the system resulting in a "buzzing" around the adapter and significantly reduced water flow - probably not good for the pump either. The rim really should be a solid flat surface for the gasket to mate to. This is probably caused by the a pump that is designed for 1 1/2" openings moving water through the a 1 1/4" adapter.

I considered fixing this by filling the hollow edge with liquid resin available from a craft store. I ultimately just cut out the 1 1/4" inflow and outflow black tube and installed the strainer/nozzle assemblies that came with the pump, ditching the adapters altogether. Everything works fine and I have an 1 1/2" path through the whole system. An added benefit is that the assemblies now don't pull down on the pool liner as they are closer and have much more surface area in contact with the liner.

The exaggerated "bow" in the front distorts my betta fish when he swims near the back and far sides of the tank. Not only that, the light that comes with this thing is simply horrible! It makes everything in the tank yellowish! Suddenly my black gravel looks like brown mud and my fish's subtle natural pink colors are nearly impossible to see or appreciate. Plus I have found it hard to buy replacement filters locally. I would never, ever buy a MiniBow again. I'll be buying another Eclipse, which I heartily recommend as superior in all respects.

(More customer reviews)My parents bought this pool for us for my 34th birthday! ;)It was the perfect thing for me as my bday's in April and I was 21 weeks pregnant with baby #3 at the time with the long, VERY hot SoCal summer ahead of me!!Setup was easy enough that even our boys (5 & 8) got to help out with some of the setup.The ladder could be a bit sturdier but is better than some and we'll be replacing it soon enough with a different one.

This pool is the same as the 54451E only it comes with the saltwater filtration system/pump instead.The pump/filter is a workhorse at 2000 gph, it's the Water Filtration Pump with a Built-in Chlorine Generator model #56611.Definitely a great deal with this package!!

All in all, an excellent deal, excellent quality...just...EXCELLENT!

(More customer reviews)We've been very happy with this humidifier.The cool mist is very fine, so it feels more "misty" and less "damp" or "rainy" than some other humidifiers we've tried.The controls over how much or little mist it produces are effective, and it's very quiet.Although this product is a little more expensive than some other types of humidifiers, it's worth it.I know several people whose babies have been burned by warm mist humdifiers, and they also tend to breed bacteria, neither of which is a concern with this product.Also although we originally bought a cheaper humidifier, it turned out not to be as inexpensive as we first thought because we kept having to replace the wick and it quickly broke.This humidifier doesn't have "hidden costs" and is sturdy and well made.
Also if you take off the lid and watch what it does to produce the mist, it's really cool (not a reason to buy the product in itself, but interesting ....)

1) The sides of the pool rise up as you fill the pool, therefore if you start the pool on an area with a slant you will have problems when the pool fills to the top--one side will have extra material because of the water level.The flatter the surface the better.You can make this work on ground that is somewhat uneven, but it take a lot of work.

2) You MUST make sure that bottom of the pool is pulled out to make a true circle.It is easy to be lazy with this because when there is no water in the pool it can look "good enough," but if you have an oval there is a chance that the water will push out and start to flow out once it is filled.

3) If you plan to put this away year after year get a ground cloth.If the pool is on grass the bottom is IMPOSSIBLE to clean.At the price, I would recommend throwing it out at the end of the season.

4) The pump is very basic.You will need to add chemicals to keep it clean.Get a net to clean the big stuff out.

For the $60-100 price tag you can't really go wrong if what you are looking for is some simple fun and a chance to cool off.

(More customer reviews)I bought this pool after my disasterous experience with the first one I purchased, which was an Intex 90" x 22" Swim Center Color Whirl Pool (please read the review I wrote about it before you consider buying that product). I purchased the pool alone (without the filter or other accessories) after reading several poor reviews about the quality of the filter that comes with the set. Instead of purchasing the 300 gallon/hour filter, I bought the Intex Easy Set 800 GPH pool pump/filter, which has been keeping the water clean without difficulty. If you are considering purchasing this pool, I would recommend that you do the same. In addition, I would also recommend buying the following items (many of these can be found at local stores if you would like to save money on shipping and handling):

1) a ground cloth...you can save some money by purchasing a Southern Camp 10' x 10' Blue Tarp (available at Amazon for a fraction of the price you'll spend on one that's labeled as a "swimming pool ground cloth" and it works just the same);

2) a pool cover...you can also use the tarp mentioned above for this purpose (just make sure you buy 2; one for use as a ground cloth and the other for a cover), but I would recommend buying a round pool cover that's made for this type of pool because it stays in place better (it has drawstrings to help secure it to the inflatable ring);

3) pool chemicals...specifically: chlorine (in granular form), pH increaser (soda ash), pH decreaser (pool acid), algaecide/clarifier, conditioner, and pool shock (many of these chemicals are sold together in pool maintenance kits; just make sure the kit you purchase in suitable for use in inflatable pools)...also, you will need a chemical test kit for measuring pH and chlorine levels (these are usually included in pool maintenance kits, as well);

4) a pool skimmer net, a nylon pool brush, and a pole that can be used with both;

5) a package of spare filter cartridges for use with the pool pump/filter you purchase;

6) an Intex Pool Surface Skimmer/Leaf Basket (this is optional, but it does help keep the pool surface free of leaves and bugs) NOTE: THE SKIMMER CAN ONLY BE USED WITH A 500 GALLON PER HOUR INTEX POOL PUMP/FILTER OR LARGER (IT WILL NOT WORK WITH SMALLER MODELS)...AS I STATED BEFORE, I RECOMMEND BUYING THE 800 GALLON/HOUR MODEL; and

7) a pool ladder (this is also optional; you'll only need it if you have children who are too short to step over the sides of this pool).

I bought all of the items mentioned above and I couldn't be any happier with the end result. I haven't had any of the water leakage or air leakage problems that I had with the first pool I purchased, even though I set it up in exactly the same spot. I was also able to set it up the entire system without any assistance. From start to finish, it took about 3 hours until it was ready to swim in. This pool seems to be quite durable; the whole family has been playing and splashing in it almost every day this summer, without any problems arising. It does cost more to buy the extra maintenance supplies and the pool parts separately (rather than buying the set with a filter that won't do the job), but it has been worth the investment. And, unlike the Intex 90" x 22" Swim Center Color Whirl Pool, with a little bit of daily maintenance (checking the pH and chlorine levels, and using the skimmer net when needed), the water has remained clean, clear, and most importantly, IN THE POOL!

Silver AOS 7144 Ultrasonic Humidifier Review

(More customer reviews)My family and I moved from Southern California (where we slept with the windows open nearly year round for wonderful, well rested sleep) to Phoenix, Arizona (where the humidity hovers at most to 15% in my house according to my hygrometer.) After a month (and before we got the humidifier), my kids (3 and 1) were absolutely suffering. During the night, they were choking and hacking, wheezing and just plugged up. I was no different. Needless to say, our sleep was badly affected. I knew it was the air situation. After 3 nights of researching the different types of humidifiers, I finally settled on buying two Air O Swiss 7144 units (one for each kid's room). Although it was expensive, I buy things for the long haul and figured better to spend up front then have problems with cheaper models down the road. I have since turned it on absolutely every single night for them and the difference is short of miraculous. Here are some points: 1- a full tank lasts two nights running at 8 hours a night with the windows closed and the door nearly shut (about an inch ajar at most)

2- tank is not difficult to fill. I use one 3 gallon water bottle
(normally used for my drinking water dispense) to completely fill up both humidifier units

3- to maximize space and thus get the most water into the humidifier, I removed the demineralization cartridge and use only reverse osmosis drinking water for my unit. I have had ZERO WHITE DUST. The R.O. water is purified enough that there are no remaining minerals to be churned out as white dust. This trick also saves me from having to replace the cartridge. (BTW, our tap water is VERY hard so I didn't want to use it even with the demineralization cartridge because why make the machine work harder than it has to?) R.O. water is perfect and again, NO WHITE DUST AT ALL!!!!

4- It's so quiet, it's ridiculous. I LOVE that.

5- The warm mist feature is perfect. It does not raise the temperature of the room so it's never like a sauna. The air leaving the machine even at warm mist feels somewhat cool (and the first night I kept checking in on the kids to make sure I wasn't freezing them) but the unit actually heats the water to 104 degrees which isjust the right temp at maintaining room temp (no moist saunas!!) and/or preventing steam burn to your finger in case a curious little one chooses to wave his/her hand in the mist.

6- I've religiously used the units each night for the last 3 months with absolutely no problem.

7- The buttons don't light up or create distracting glows. Important for me because I wanted the kids' rooms to remain relatively dark as that's what they're used to.

8- There is no leaking or condensation on the unit. The mist is so fine that it evaporates before it touches the little folding dinner tray table that I have each unit placed on. The carpet underneath doesn't feel soggy or anything. It truly produces an ultrafine mist that dissipates almost immediately.

9- I can adjust the flow and humidity to my liking (to get 2 nights' worth of output from one tank, I set it on warm mist at the lowest air flow at 55% humidity)

10- It automatically shuts off when it runs out of water. There is a blinking light that indicates that the machine is on "On" but there's no water. I usually press the off button the after the second night's use. If I forget to press off and fill the tank up on the third night, I noticed that since the machine is technically "on" (even though there's no sound or movement indicating that), as soon as I put the filled tank back on the unit, it immediately starts working on the settings I last set it on.

11- I have yet to use the cool mist (since it's still winter) but I read that it actually helps to maintain (at the very least) or slightly lower the room temp which is convenient in summer months.

All in all, I love this machine. By the way, on a few occasions when my older child needed me to sleep next to him until he fell back asleep (usually a nightmare woke him up), I noticed within 10-15 minutes that my breathing was VERY different in his room where the unit had been running for several hours into the night. No clogged sinuses or difficult inhalation. Once he was appropriately tucked in and I would go back to my room, within 5-10 minutes, my breathing would get adversely affected. That's how dry the air is in our house. So, that's why after 3 months of enjoying how well it's worked in the kids' rooms, my husband and I are looking forward to our own good sleep after just purchasing our 3rd machine.

After a little research I selected this item and hoped for the best. My husband who runs a plumbing and heating company has said this product has saved the day more then once. It's great for cleaning up debris after a dirty job. His comments are that it has lots of power and suction, a good selection of attachments and it is very quiet. (More customer reviews)I've owned this humidifier for a couple of months now.The features that I like best about it are: it regulates the ambient humidity (i.e. the unit has a humidity sensor for the room) when it reaches the desired level it automatically stops the mist; also it gives you an indication when the unit needs to be cleaned (pretty simple process); and most important the unit stops when there's not enough water (again a little indicator flashes for your attention) - furthermore, the unit is very well designed and has a very contemporary look - highly recommended!

(More customer reviews)We've had this humidifier for about 2 years now and use it only occasionally. The reason we use it sparingly is because it is way too loud. It has a very annoying vibrational noise that can be damped by pushing down hard on the lid.Since I can't stand next to it pushing the lid down all night, we have to put up with the amazingly loud humming. The other problem with this humidifier is that it is hard to clean inside the tube that draws-up the water.It is removable, but you need to have pipe-cleaners to get inside it. The non-removable disc in the lid is also filled with gunk that I can't get out. Save your money!

(More customer reviews)I live in Chicago where the winters get very cold and very dry.I finally decided to do something about it a year ago and bought a humidifier.I went through a series of 5 humidifiers before I finally came across the Vornado Ultrasonic, which has been the best by far.

I started with a cheap Holmes humidifier that basically boils water and creates steam.The problem is that the heating element gets caked with residue and needs to be cleaned just about every other day and it's very difficult to clean.It also tends to give off a rather bad odor.

After returning the holmes, I purchased a Vornado evaporative humidifier.What I've found is that evaporative humidifiers simply don't create enough moisture.The first Vornado was a bust.

My next attempt was a Sharper Image Ultrasonic humidifier, which is very simple to use, easy to clean and provides a good deal of moisture.Unfortunately, much of the moisture simply falls to the ground right around the machine.I wasn't 100% sold.

I returned the Sharper Image unit to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and found two typically expensive ultrasonic humidifiers on sale for half off.One was the Air-O-Swiss Ultrasonic Humidifier http://www.amazon.com/Air-O-Swiss-32838-Ultrasonic-Humidifier/dp/B000J4I4RI/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1262363031&sr=1-7The other was the Vornado.I decided to get them both with the intention of returning the one that I did not like as much.The Air-O-Swiss is a very elegant looking machine with lots of controls and settings.At the top, it has a plastic piece which lets you control the direction the moisture flows (it can go two directions at once).I found that it had the same problem as the Sharper Image unit, but I placed it on a 2' plant stand, directed the moisture to either side and that seemed to keep the moisture from settling on the floor.

The Vornado Unit's settings were slightly more complicated for me to figure out, but we're talking the difference between 2 minutes and 5 minutes here.The Vornado uses a fan to push the moisture further up so that it evaporates in the air BEFORE it hits the ground.PERFECT!I don't have to put it on a stand or worry that I'll find water seaping into my hardwood floors.Where the Air-O-Swiss is super quiet, the Vornado has a fan (that pushes the moisture up) and thus makes a bit more noise.I personally don't find the noise distracting at all and neither does my wife.Noise aside, it is the fan that really makes this the perfect humidifier because this is the ONLY humidifier of the many I tested that actually seems to get more moisture into the air than on the ground.I wound up getting two Vornado Ultrasonic Humidifiers for my 1800 square foot condo and have noticed a substantial improvement.I highly recommend this product.

One last thing... both the Vornado and the Air-O-Swiss have filters, which is nice because you want to be filling your home with clean moisture.
