Τα λόγια αυτά ανήκουν σε ένα από τους βουλευτές που αυτή τη στιγμή συζητούν στη Βουλή το νέο μνημόνιο. Ωστόσο– με μικρές παραλλαγές- ακούστηκαν από πολλούς ακόμα, από διάφορες πτέρυγες της Βουλής.

Μετά το πάθημα του «αδιάβαστου» Μιχάλη Χρυσοχοΐδη, με απόλυτη ειλικρίνεια ο ανεξάρτητος Βαγγέλης Παπαχρήστος παραδέχθηκε ότι του ήταν αδύνατο να έχει διαβάσει το κείμενο και ζήτησε περισσότερο χρόνο πριν κληθεί να ψηφίσει, «αλλιώς πλέον οι αδιάβαστοι μαθητές στο σχολείο θα αποκαλούνται βουλευτές…»

«Πριν μέρες, το πανελλήνιο λοιδόρησε αυτόν που είπε δεν έχω διαβάσει. Σήμερα πόσοι από αυτούς που συζητούν και ψηφίζουν έχουν διαβάσει;» σχολίασε καυστικά και ο Δ. Παπαδημούλης του ΣΥΡΙΖΑ και έστρεψε τα βέλη του στην κυβέρνηση και τους πολιτικούς αρχηγούς, υποστηρίζοντας ότι «κλεισμένοι στο Μαξίμου παίζουν μπιρίμπα τόσες μέρες κι είχαν περιθώριο να το διαβάσουν, αλλά εμάς δε μας δίνουν περιθώριο».

Στο ίδιο κλίμα και ο Π. Λαφαζάνης του ΣΥΡΙΖΑ, επικαλέστηκε τη μαρτυρία των φυλάκων της Βουλής ότι προσήλθε να παραλάβει το μνημόνιο μέσα στα άγρια μεσάνυχτα.

«Και την καλύτερη θέληση να είχα, πώς θα κατάφερνα να το έχω διαβάσει αυτό το έκτρωμα; Ποιος εδώ μέσα το ‘χει διαβάσει; Κοροϊδευόμαστε και κοροϊδεύουμε το λαό;» διερωτήθηκε δηκτικά…

Η Ελλάδα και η νέα συμφωνία με την τρόικα κυριαρχεί στα πρωτοσέλιδα και τις ιστοσελίδες των ξένων ΜΜΕ. Τα περισσότερα απ’ αυτά αναφέρονται με σκεπτικισμό στα νέα μέτρα λιτότητας, επισημαίνοντας πως παραμένει «συνεχώς ανοικτό το ενδεχόμενο» για χρεοκοπία της χώρας».
Τα αμερικανικά ΜΜΕ υποστηρίζουν ότι η Ευρώπη προετοιμάζεται για να σώσει τις τράπεζες και όχι για να σώσει την Ελλάδα, καθώς, όπως γράφουν, ακόμη κι αν εφαρμοστούν τα νέα μέτρα, δεν είναι σίγουρο πως θα αποφευχθεί ο κίνδυνος της χρεοκοπίας, αλλά και εξάπλωσής της σε άλλες ευρωπαϊκές χώρες.
Το οικονομικό ρεπορτάζ των «New York Times» λέει ξεκάθαρα πως «η Ευρώπη είναι προετοιμασμένη για να πληρώσει ό,τι χρειάζεται ώστε να σώσει τις τράπεζες, όχι όμως και την ίδια την Ελλάδα», καθώς θεωρεί πως «το ελληνικό χρέος δεν είναι βιώσιμο και δεν έχει γίνει απολύτως τίποτα μέχρι στιγμής που να δίνει την ελπίδα πως η Ελλάδα θα μπορέσει να αναζωογονήσει την οικονομία της χωρίς την έξοδό της από το ευρώ και την υποτίμηση του νέου ελληνικού νομίσματος».

Η βρετανική «Telegraph» μιλάει για μια δυσάρεστη «συμφωνία με την τρόικα που ίσως αποδειχτεί ταφόπλακα για την οικονομία της χώρας», ενώ από χθες «τρέχει» στην ιστοσελίδα της ένα δημοσκοπικό ερώτημα προς τους αναγνώστες της με τίτλο: «Μπορεί η Ελλάδα να παραμείνει στην ευρωζώνη;». Οι απαντήσεις που ήταν στη διάθεση των αναγνωστών ήταν: α. Ναι, αν εφαρμοστούν τα μέτρα λιτότητας, η οικονομία μπορεί να ανακάμψει. β. Όχι, το ενδεχόμενο ανασχηματισμού κάνει την τελευταία ευκαιρία σωτηρίας να απομακρύνεται. γ. Είναι πολύ νωρίς για να απαντήσει κανείς.

Στις ανταποκρίσεις δίνεται έμφαση στις δηλώσεις του προέδρου της Νέας Δημοκρατίας και αρχηγού της αξιωματικής αντιπολίτευσης κ. Αντώνη Σαμαρά ότι «κανένα έθνος δεν μπορεί να αντέξει τη λιτότητα όταν έχει να την αντιμετωπίσει κάθε μέρα χωρίς να βλέπει φως στο τούνελ» και ότι «η δυστυχία που θα δημιουργηθεί είναι ικανή να πυροδοτήσει μια μεγάλη κοινωνική έκρηξη». Επίσης γίνεται αναφορά και στην επιστολή του μεγαλύτερου σωματείου των ελλήνων αστυνομικών προς την τρόικα, με την οποία την προειδοποιούν ότι θα εκδώσουν εντάλματα σύλληψης κατά των εκπροσώπων της για «εκβιασμό, συγκεκαλυμμένη κατάργηση ή διάβρωση της δημοκρατίας και της εθνικής κυριαρχίας».
Τέλος, τα γερμανικά ΜΜΕ προτάσσουν από την Παρασκευή την απόφαση του ΛΑΟΣ να καταψηφίσει τη νέα συμφωνία, τονίζοντας ότι «το δεξιό κόμμα φέρνει την Ελλάδα πιο κοντά στη χρεοκοπία», ενώ παρατηρούν ένα ολοένα αυξανόμενο αρνητικό κλίμα των ελλήνων πολιτών απέναντι σε οτιδήποτε γερμανικό.

The drive home from Bellevue, crossing the Mississippi River at Sabula, IA. and on through Savanna, IL. was quite scenic, even though we were only on Rt 84 for a mile. There were picturesque ravines that we drove through in Iowa and many rolling fields of beautiful corn and soybeans on the Illinois side.

This year was a stellar year for these crops. The fabulously healthy looking crops are even more beautiful when one considers their contribution to reducing oil imports. Everybody knows about ethanol as a gasoline additive, but there is also newspaper ink made from soybeans.

Somewhere in the upper left distant background is the Chestnut Mountain Ski Resort. The road between here and there is also quite scenic and sometimes very steep, as the terrain is.
