(More customer reviews)Great sweet potato
flour! I would buy again from this farm. They did a great job. I
would recommend buying two or three bags if you plan on using a
lot. I bought this and the blue cornmeal flour which was
fantastic.
FYI - To avoid higher shipping - buy larger quantities or a variety
of flours. I made that mistake and was surprised at the charge due
to the flour weight. You can trust this vender. They do take a
little over a week to get their product to you but it's worth
it.

(More customer reviews)Most people that
buy powdered eggs tend to use them in recipes as a replacement for
real eggs.My introduction to instant eggs was not so indiscreet.I
first tasted them on a camping trip with my sons scout troop quite
a few years ago.It was late spring and getting warmer so we were
concerned about bringing real eggs along. We had the "Honeyville"
brand that is available here on Amazon as well. I found them to be
surprisingly good scrambled. In fact when done right they seemed
indiscernible to me in respect to real eggs.Same texture and
flavor.I decided to buy more powered eggs years later when I
started to do more numerous hikes that took me further out into the
wilderness, and I found myself missing the taste of eggs over an
open fire. Being the frugal gourmet that I am I opted to try the
Barry Farm egg powder over the Honeyville for it was a bit cheaper.
Not only that, but I already owned and have used Barry Farms
chicken and beef bouillon powder for quite some time and found them
both to be excellent in soups and stews.I am pleased to announce
that my being a tightwad this time around was very well placed, and
rewarded. The Barry farm egg powder taste very good when prepared
right. I make them here at home as scrambled quite often. And as a
recipe substitute I find they are undetectable as to be compared to
real eggs. They are most definitely just as good as the Honeyville
brand. (Although in all fairness, I have noticed lately that Barry
Farm is just about the same price now as the Honeyville. I still
prefer the taste of Barry Farm). The only suggestion I would make
to anyone that wishes to be adventurous and make scrambled eggs
with this powder is make sure you grease the pan well. They stick
something awful if you don't, just like real eggs. There will always
be a core amount of folks that would never attempt cooking or
tasting powdered eggs either scrambled or in a recipe. For those
that fit into that category don't bother to get adventurous now.For
those of you that have tasted these before, or are tempted to taste
them now, I highly recommend Barry Farm egg powder. They're nowhere
near as bad, or the same powdered eggs soldiers used to tell horror
stories about when talking about the cuisine of their war
years...

(More customer reviews)Treats can be use
as rewards or for training. If the dogs don't like them, a lot,
then the treats are ineffective. Our dogs really like the Milk-Bone
chewy treats and are motivated to listen better when I have one of
these in my hand. For our two dogs the individual treats are too
large to offer whole, so we break them into bite size pieces. This
makes the treats last longer and lessens the chance of crumbs or
treat residue getting on the floor.
I like that the first ingredient listed on the label is
chicken.
I don't like that ingredient four is sugar, and that the recipe
includes BHA and three artificial colorings.
This may not be the most nutritional or purest of snacks, but it is
motivational and is better than many other mainstream treats. The
large clean container with the tight fitting lid is great for other
applications also. I use the containers for other treats that come
in bags or for storing leftover paint.

(More customer reviews)This is by far the
best turf saver treat on the market (or was on the market). The
last place we were able to purchase this was in Canada. They must
have discontinued which is too bad. Every grass saver we have tried
does not work. I too would beg Harpers to put this back on the
market.

(More customer reviews)Made in the USA, no
by-products, no wheat gluten, no artificial flavors or colors. The
company is based in Albany, Oregon, a couple hours drive from where
I live, and a portion of their proceeds goes to help pets in
need.
Obviously, my sheltie, Zoey, loves these treats. They smell and look
just like beef jerky made for humans... even I thought they smelled
mouth-watering.These Bit-O-Luv beef treats are a far better treat
for your dog than most of the dog treat offerings in the grocery
store.
The only downside is in the ingredient list - my dog would've loved
them just as much if they didn't have added sugar (dextrose and
corn syrup). She's fed a half kibble, half raw food diet, so she
gets a lot of broccoli, cauliflower, green beans... low sugar, low
calorie veggies, as a way to help her lose/maintain weight.Even
with exercise, it's easy for her to gain weight and hard for her to
lose weight, so I'm lucky she looks at these veggies as yummy
treats. She's picky, and she will snub treats/foods.I don't want her
to get conditioned to sweet 'n' salty snacks (like I am!!) and
start to look at her veggies as bland (like I do!!).
So, these will be given sparingly to Zoey, couple times a week.I
think the salt is low enough on the ingredient list, but the
dextrose and corn syrup seem to come too closely behind the beef
and chicken. My go-to treat for Zoey, given daily for all the little
good things she does, will continue to be Zuke's Mini Naturals. She
loves the Zuke's Minis in all flavors, and there's no
sweeteners.
As a yummy treat only given once in a while, it's fine enough that
I wouldn't knock a star off my rating. Also, people with healthy,
lean dogs who never gain an ounce won't mind if there's
sweeteners. In any case, in terms of quality, these Bit-O-Luv treats
are still amongst the best, in my opinion.

protein isolate, natural smoke flavor, salt, potassium sorbate

(More customer reviews)I've always used
fresh egg-whites and not worried about them being raw. Now that I
have small children, I thought pasturized would be the way to go. I
was a little doubtful as I added water and watched the powder just
float around - mixing didn't help. then, after about 2 minutes -
voila! perfect eggwhites. They act just like fresh in cooking. I've
used them in royal icing and merengues.

(More customer reviews)This is a great
product when used for what it was intended. It is not made to use
as fresh sour cream on potatoes and the like. It is intended for
baking or recipes like dips. It does not mix well straight into
water, you add it with the powdered or dry part of your recipe and
add the water with your other wet ingredients. I love powdered
products and sour cream powder is a real convenience when you are
out and need it.

(More customer reviews)As a consumer, I've
been alarmed at how quickly food prices have soared, including
cheese and similar dairy products. Also, a power outage last winter
convinced me that it would be good idea to have some items on hand
which could be used to create cheese sauces, perhaps if we had to
use alternate ways of cooking, such as the fireplace.
This produce exceeded my expectations. We not only have extra for
emergency use but I've found all sorts of ways to use it weekly. It
is the ONLY cheese powder which my family truly loves on popcorn,
neither too salty or bland. It adds just the right touch.
When it comes to adding an accent to my homemade white sauces or
giving some zest to buttered broccoli, the nice cheese flavor is
perfect. Try adding it to melted butter and some garlic as a spread
for toast. The possibilities are limited only by your cookbooks and
imagination.
Also, this is an item that can be used by both beginners and
professional cooks. You really can't go wrong by having some of
this in your pantry and the ingredients are far healthier than the
typical Cheese product sold at a local grocery store. Unless you
want to subsist only on peanut butter sandwiches for two weeks (we
thought we might have to do that during the winter at one point,
car stuck in garage, roads icy and temperatures below freezing),
this is a nice, reassuring cheese powder to keep in your pantry and
versatile enough to add to popcorn, liven up sauces and keep
vegetables from being boring.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this
product out of curiosity -- to see if it would work differently (or
as well) in my homemade yogurt than the instant powdered milk. And
oh, yes, there's a big, big difference -- in taste and consistency
(in the liquid milk *and* the yogurt). Based on the cost of instant
dry milk around here (GA), it's quite a bit less expensive too --
you use less of it to make a quart than with instant.
While I've heard that this form of milk is harder to mix, I didn't
find it that much different from reconstituting the instant
version, except that I needed to use warm water instead of cold. I
did have a first trial that gave, ahem, unexpected results. ((YMMV,
of course -- but if you end up needing to use a whisk, and plan to
use the milk for yogurt, you might get an interesting "bubble
effect" texture in the finished product. :))
On my next experiment, also with warm water (just under 120
degrees), a few rounds of patient (slow) spoon-stirring was all it
seemed to take -- I just waited a minute in between stirings. In
each case, adding the nearly-room-temperature starter-yogurt made
the temperature just right for the yogurt-maker. (If you use warm
water and plan to use the milk for drinking, you'll want to
refrigerate until chilled -- in other words, plan ahead.)
So again, the mixing process is a little different, but not that
much different -- and the results are very much worth the little
bit of extra care. To me, the chilled liquid tastes as good as
regular milk from the store -- I didn't think I'd ever say that
about powdered milk!
Just a couple of downsides to mention, though they're minor:
- I wish there were mixing directions on the package -- how much
powder to use to how much water. But I eventually found ballpark
directions on the Internet. I used about a cup of powder and a bit
over 3 cups of water to make a quart of yogurt, but it turned out
so thick, I'll probably try a little less next time.
- While the product packaging doesn't say this, I suspect this form
of milk is the kind without the added Vitamins A & D that most
store milks have. I get plenty of these vitamins from other
sources, so it's not a deal breaker for me. It might be for
you.

(More customer reviews)This product is a
dried whole whey powder. It is excellent for adding a "milky" flavor
to mixes or baked goods. The product is essentially fat and gluten
free, and dissolves immediately in liquids. However, this product
contains lactose, lots of it, and if you are lactose intolerant
this product may not be for you.For those of us who enjoy dairy
products, whey is a wonderful flavoring agent and contributes a lot
of protein to mixes.
